Jane, I'm impressed! Spice is a very nice looking Collie for her time. And the white color was a lot rarer then. It wasn't even allowed in the show ring until 30 years ago. Spice was probably from a professional breeder who had to sell her as a pet.
I'm glad to see her in the house ( in front of that exquisite fireplace ), since Collies are MUCH happier living with their human family.
