One and a half days to go for the epidural.
I am now very much in need. I cannot be on my feet for over 15 minutes without LOTS of pain.

HI FOLKS...
Sad news about Patrick... he will be missed and probably remembered most in the hearts of his fans for his final role... such a fight against Pancreatic Cancer. A logie winner to the end.
On a lighter note have just updated our itinerary on our travel blog... and now I am outta here...

OH HEIDI< I hope your epidural does wonders for you this time! I would tell you to take it easy till you can get there, but you always have so much that needs doing on a farm. Be as kind to yourself as you can sweetie!
I went for second treatment at chiro, and now am hurting more than when I went in! Not fun! Hopefully tomorrow will be a LOT better. Meds have me too sleepy to try to read tonight, hope I can catch up soon. I love all you guys!

Hi SA8,
loved this quote from Mymare on Easy
how about this magnet -- see in a shop today..
I didn't say it was your fault - only that I was blaming you

Broni... That is brilliant! I'll have to remember it.
MizT... PLEASE be careful with that chiropractic treatment. I tried that before I started the epidurals and it only made me worse. In fact, they were the direct cause of 2 ER visits.
Now I am heading off to bed myself.
Almost forgot... I bought a boy friend for Daisy the rabbit today. Interestingly enough, he has a similar white spot on the right shoulder, but not as much. he also has white paws and a white spot on the nose.
His background color is the wild brown, like Daisy. I haven't thought up a name for him yet.

Sad news about Patrick..
I don't know if I've been on yet today. I've added sneezing and sore glands to my list of things to feel sorry for myself about. Grumble grumble... Actually, I'm a lot better than I was so won't have much mmore grumbling to do.

I made a shop assistant, a lady and 2 ambulance drivers laugh their heads off and they will be telling all of their friends about the not very bright lady they met and even more people will be laughing, so I thought why not give my friends a laugh too...
Tonight I had to put petrol/gas in the rental so we could take it back with a full tank. The dash board on this thing is like a space ship, in fact we nicknamed the car spacey. Everything is controlled by a button with a light on it. The only thing that is a dial is the thing that you use to adjust the temperature of the air that blows on you. So after I work out which side of the car I need to put the petrol in, I'm searching everywhere for a button. All over the dash, the steering wheel, the side of the door, beside the chair (that's where the button that raises and lowers the seat is), everywhere there is buttons. Nothing! I took a deep breath and went inside and asked the guy behind the register if he knew. By now everyone in the petrol station is laughing their heads off at me - but none of them are volunteering where the button could be! Guess what? There is NO BUTTON. When the car is unlocked, you just press on the cover and it opens. When the car is locked, you can't open the cover. Duh!

Wouldn't worry about it too much Suzy I'm sure we all have problems locating buttons on new things
To be honest I still don't know how to activate the headlight washers on the lexus. I know it has them but I'm blowed if I know how to work them... and we have had the car for 9 years now!!

My pix of the Cowrie collection did NOT turn out. I had to have the shutter speed too slow to pick up light, and they came out blurred. I won't use a flash because there'd be way too much reflection off the glass and shells.
I'll have to think of something else.

Would it be possible to take pictures of the cowrie shell collection outside in natural light? Or inside in a room with north-facing windows on a sunny day?

Brenda, when I was driving away from the dealership the rear window wiper was going and I couldn't work out how to turn it off. in the end I had to pull over and read the manual...

Julie... I took the pix in a room with north facing windows on a sunny day. With all the lights in the room on, as well. The thought of taking them all outside to photograph is daunting. I have 135 different species, with multiples of some.

Good morning all my SA friends.
Heidi you need to put the camera on a stand and use the 'timer' or remote control so that you are not touching the camera.
Hi Julie, nice to see you back.
Pleased you and Bill had a safe trip back, Gail.
Off to get my hair cut this morning and then another funeral (another bowling friend lost her husband, who had been very sick)

Last year 7 of us drove from school to the west coast, about 1.5 hours, to pack up an office supply show. We had my van and my boss's jeep. The two men who came with us drove the jeep. We started packing boxes, we were supposed to keep 2 boxes each, which would be delivered to our school. We sent our 14 boxes to school but the two guys had loaded the jeep and the top of it when no one was looking. We came home with a ton of stuff. Boss's hubby asked me to follow him and let him know if any of the boxes on the jeep shifted. After we got started we called and told him the boxes looked good but his rear wiper was on. He could not figure out how to turn in off so the whole ride home his jeep was "waving" at us in my van. We teased him about it for months.

Laughing at the car stories. The first time I ever drove a European manufactured car had great trouble with the indicators... kept turning the wipers on... Took a while to get used to the current car for the same reason.
Funniest thing tho was I hadn't realised that I hadn't actually driven the car at night until I drove into the country to pick Lachie up from camp. It became dark on the way home and I had trouble operating the lights... turning them on and then dimming them... Dashboard lights... couldn't see what speed I was doing... Ever tried reading a car manual in the dark? Felt a real idjit ringing Pete... DUH!!

Suzy, I will do you one better. I have lost my car, twice. One time was at uni and I had the campus police out and I was saying my car was stolen. They put me in their golfcart and drove to the entrance. They made me talk them through what I did when I came. I realized I went to the 2nd stop sign instead of parking by the 1st stop sign. I am sure they laughed when I left. The other time was at a county fair. I could not find my car. I called my dad, before the day of cell phones, and he came and drove me all over the parking lot until we found the car. It took a while for me to live both incidents down.

Oh Tami... memories...MEMORIES....
I've lost my car twice...
1st time I was on night duty and I ALWAYS parked in the same spot... right outside the main entrance to the hospital in Gratten St. Rocked up half asleep at the end of my shift to find NO car...30 mins of walking the local streets checking every conceivable place that I may have left it and it wasn't until I came across it that I remembered parking it there...DUH...
2nd time it wasn't where I had left it! Running late for work... again... I carelessly parked my car and didn't realise that I had blocked someone in [normally I always check that I haven't blocked someone in and made it difficult] Anyway... to cut a long story short... this irate person called the cops and they had the car towed to another location... around the corner in another street. Accompanying the parking fine was a note from the policeman advising me to pay the fine because these types of cases definitely go to court. He also suggested I be a bit more careful in future with where I park or next time the car would be taken to the pound... not what you want to find late at night after you have finished work... no transport home!!

HEIDI, happily, I am much better tonight than I was, it just takes time to get over the sore after the chiro moves something. My doc knows I am doing this for temp relief till I can get to epidural, his nurse said today, OH, I was going to suggest that.
Nurse phonned to tell me she talked to insurance again. It seems that 14 or 15 days is Business days, and they do not count the day they received the request! They got it on friday before the long weekend, of course! So they do not start counting till the 8th. AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH, it could be the end of this month before they have to answer. this is the first time I have had anything to go to review committee. Must be a sign of the economic times. I tried walking for exercise again tonight, nope, improvement, no more than 5 minutes still till pain comes back.

Hello SA8ers!! I've been reading, but not posting much!
Didn't do much on the needlepoint!
Heidi, MizT anyone else under the weather: Get well soon! (after all, we need you to keep the sanity??!?? around here)
Sad about Patrick Swayze, missed the news last night, try not to watch, too depressing. Heard about him on Good Morning America this morning. We got an e-mail from our friend Doc (Mike) and he is on his way to Iraq this week after a couple of months of training in Fort Hood, Texas. I am going to ask that now you keep him in your thoughts & prayers. He's also tight with our friends Terry & Theresa. Mike, Darrell & Terry were here in Utah together in 2003. We all moved here from California within a year. Not much else to say, CRAFTS is now a permanent condition!! Will try to be by again soon, TTFN everyone, take care, LOTS of love, Suzanne

By the way, the first date Darrell & I went on was to breakfast & to see "Ghost"! I love that movie, Patrick Swayze was wonderful...There was a Barbara Walters special on him tonight. He was a very accomplished dancer, that is how he & his wife met years ago. I feel VERY sad for her right now.
