Sorry Gail - I missed three comments in between, so mine doesn't make much sense now. I must be a very slow typer!

HI BEAN, I hope that burn is getting better. Do you have antibiotic cream there? We have one called triple antibiotic ( generic name) or neosporin brand name that is good for skin infections. I hope your infected burn gets better soon sweeite, that has to hurt big time!

Becky..I am a member of quite a few wine clubs..have never heard of or been offered 'Alicewhite'...I'm actually wondering if it is bottled in the states...the marketing all seems to be geared for your market. It is an interesting web site in that it doesn't tell you much about the origins of the wines/wineries/grapes etc which makes me think that maybe they are blends from a number of wineries.
We have some wonderful vintners over here and the good wines usually have them mentioned on the bottles. I did laugh at this comment...
"Australians are engaging, friendly, good-humored sorts always ready for a swim, sail, game of rugby or boisterous barbecue. Their bold, easy-going personality is reflected in every bottle of Alice White."

Gath's been busy approving my avatars while I've been out partying! Had to make it a pretty early night, being Sunday. We usually have about 30 for both Christmas meals with my family, but not so many when I go to the out-laws'. This year we'll have to travel nearly 240km in the round trip to visit them. So not looking forward to the driving.

Susan, love the new Avatar, nice.
We drive about 70 miles one way to my sister's house. It is mostly freeway, and Al does the driving. So I do not mind it over much. My sister had had the gathering for the last several years. Mom had it for a long time. Before that, I had it, when I lived in the suburbs 9 see house in my photos) I had a ot of room, a real dining room with enough table room to sit us all, with kiddies at the kitchen table. OH MY how long ago was that? the kiddies are now in their 30's hehehe.

Judy...we sort of do it like that when we have a family Christmas purely because it is such a social event with such a big mob it takes us all day to eat....I am one of 7 but we never try to get us all together. Last year my elder sister and I enjoyed the day at our younger sisters place...about 16 of us give or take. We start with drinks and nibblies..[I always supply my favourite..pate and antipasto]around 12'ish. By 1-1.30 we have usually devoured entrees. Main course hits the table about 2'ish. By then there is a hob free for me to put the pudding on to simmer for an hour and so we don't have dessert until 4.30'ish...it is usually well after 6'ish by the time we get to chocolate, coffee, fresh fruit, shortbread and cake...
Last year my sisters inlaws were out from France. The French are notoriously big eaters but I think even they were impressed with the amount of food weighing the tables down...

I'm still here Vici, and will be up for hours. Hubby and Son#1 have just gone to 'rescue' Son#2 and mates - a 1 1/2 hour round trip. I won't be sleeping till they're back home safely. Got any coffee for me. Son knew to ring us, others weren't game to call their parents at this hour.

everybody..... I still have pages to read from overnight, but had to greet you first. IH woke me up to ask to borrow my tow hitch. I was too sleepy to realize that he was planning on lending a trailer of mine to a friend of his.... without asking.

Tami.... have you watched the documentary "The US vs John Lennon"?
Fabulous. It even changed my mind about Yoko Ono. It was produced by a former schoolmate of mine: John Scheinfeld. He's the friend who introduced me to old radio shows. He even taught me how to splice and edit film.

The boys are on their way home. I don't know whatever made me think in the years BC that childbirth was the hardest part of having children. Goodnight.

SUSAN, you are so right, Childbirth is just the start of the hard times with children! Glad your son could cal you to rescue and hope all the boys are well and safe.
Heidi, loan your trailer without asking? NOT NICE! What if you have need if it?
HI VICI, glad the coffee helped you get eyes open this morning.
At our family gathering, we do the nibblies first, while waiting for the late arrivals, always someone later than expected. My niece makes a good Humas and we usually have a cheese ball and dip, both fat free and regular for all the fresh veggies. The littles will clean up the tray of baby carrots and dip, that is how they get ther=ir veggies for the day hehehe. Always turkey and ham both, and no I do not get tired of turkey, I even cook turkeys in between just cause we like it. reminds me I need to buy one for freezer, too, they are better prices at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
TAMI, hope you find all good things at the grocery shop! AND all of it on sale too hehe
BEAN, good to see you, love the bell avatar.

Susan - great news that everyone is headed home. I had to be rescued a few times as a young adult...probably why I opted out of having kids, myself...big chicken!
MzT - I'm totally hungry after reading about all that food. Maybe I should head out like Tami to pick up some nibblies!
