Look at me, starting page two of comments for you. You mention reading up for a Sherlock Holmes Society meeting. Did you see the coffee mug link?

We like SH, too. We once had a 221B theme goldfish tank. Sherlock and Moriarty were black moor fantails (Moriarty was the fat one, of course).

Watson was a yellow fantail, and Moriarty was the calico fantail (yes, we were influenced by the casting for the recent BBC Sherlock).

Mrs. Hudson was a snail (because she is the landlady). The freshwater clam's name was The Game (because the Game is a foot).

After a while all we had left were Moriarty and Sherlock and The Game, so I put them into a bucket and poured them into an ornamental pond. The bucket was, of course, Reichenbach Falls.
