Suzy, great minds again. I'd switched to my stuck in the chimney avatar for the day, then saw yours, then thought, oh well.
Some people here need to realise that hot things burn! Did I mention that Son#2 burnt himself on his motorbike exhaust yesterday? It's big, and with his susceptibility to staph infections, I will be keeping an eye on it and him.

Oh, I didn't mean to sound 'up myself' when I said 'great minds'. I really meant to say 'snap'.
I think the humidity here is over 1000%, and the temp is in the 30s. It wasn't a good day to spend helping the males of the house clean out FIL's shed - stinking headache now. I need to put the taxi sign back on my car and leave again - MIL's car has broken down.

I burnt myself once with the sliding hot thing.
Nasty rotten things they are, should be banned!

CynB, just looked through your photos - you must be ecstatic. When I told Hubby your story - he'd remembered you telling us at the Coast - believe it or not, I had tears in my eyes. Must go.

Speaking about that hot slidy thing thing - has anybody used one of those steamer things? I noticed an el cheapo one in Homeart the other day - but my daughter has one and swears by it but I don't know what brand hers is - AND I guess that can burn just as easily as the slidy thing.

Yeah I know...still here!
Cyn, they use them in a lot of the clothes shops for when they are putting the clothes out on display. Certainly looks easy to use and supposedly does a good job.

Yes, Gail - the cheapo one was about $40 but I wasn't going to even pay that much if it didn't work well. I like the idea of leaving the clothes hanging instead of putting up the ironing board - that's what I hate!!

Thanks Gail and Julie. Gail, I know those headaches are caused by heat and humidity. It took me many years to realise though. The trouble was I also drank that much water that I ended up with a stomach ache. I definitely live in the wrong part of Australia.

Susan - thanks for that nice message - I can remember almost breaking down when trying to tell you all that night.
Hope your headache eases. Any sign of a summer storm? I always find that as soon as a storm breaks my headache goes away.

I tried one of those hot steamy / hot slidy combos that I saw on TV - on one of the morning shows. I sent it back for a refund. All it did was wet the clothes, it weighed a ton, and had a cord about 50 cm long. Now if I could find a good steamy thing, I'd buy it. Wash the clothes, hang on coathangers (as I do), steam them, wear them. Sounds good, and if anyone knows of a good one, please tell me. These days I only iron for MOTH and myself. I just started that in the past month or so, and let the kids decide whether they wanted to iron their own, or wear them crinkled. They chose crinkled. I still iron their more difficult really good items, but those aren't worn much anyway.

Yes, CynB, that dreadful heat and humidity always precedes a storm. There's been thunder all day. Last night, Townsville got 5" of rain, closing some major shopping centres for the second time in a week. The underground car parks flood, and the shops also get a soaking. I must use that hot thing in the k place now. I didn't get to eat lunch, but feeling a fair bit better now. I love the air con right through the house, otherwise I'd still be sick.

Broni, that sounds so good. Stupid electricians put our air cons on tariff without consulting me, so they're off now, for up to 2 hours. Next time a sparky comes, I'm taking the living area ones off tariff.
