Gail married the week before I did..

I always found lamb shanks to be an expensive meal for the tribe. They sort of became a boutique item a few years back so of course the price went up! How many shanks per person?

Gail, I should add that I saw lamb shanks advertised at our markets on the weekend for $7.99 a kilo. I don't think that is too expensive although I know you are paying for a lot of bone. You can also buy ready made ones at Coles (nowhere near as nice as cooks them) for $10 for a pack of 2

Are you going to have a big celebration for the anniversaries? We will have our 20th anni in Feb next year. Am thinking of doing something special

Now theres not so many at home for most meals I might try shanks again. I love lamb but talk about not pleasing some one of my D's calls it poor mans meat. I tell her to go shopping some time! Poor man indeed!

Gail, yesterday Penny saw that your anni was 7th Jan & she commented on it cos hers is 8th Jan. But hers is only 13 years

So does that mean your not like H and me who usually remember our anniversary the week after!

Hubby and I had planned on going for a 3 week holiday to Scotland for Christmas and New Year.
But unfortuately, the business profits was up way OTT that Mr Tax man wants more Tax Paid and there goes the holiday fund !!!

Penny is 17 months younger than me, so we are fairly close in age.
Gail, I deliberately chose Valentine's Day to get married on because then hubby would never forget. Now I regret that though as it is a horrible night to go out on - all the restaurants are full of lovers!!

Dont know about us, we're not really the big celebration types. It's not me really but H is fairly shy, if it was up to him we would have got married on the QT with two people of the street as witnesses!

Jenni, I have friends who married on Valentine's Day. only they didn't realise that at the time, not that it is a big thing here in Aus, expecially 26 years ago ...

Hubby and I usually go out to dinner and movies.
We have friends also married on the 15th Jan, 6 years longer than us, and we sometimes go out with them on the Anniversaries

No Gail, shanks not roasted, just browned then cooked in the sauce for a long time.
Rola, I sympathise, the dreaded T word is real nasty one - maybe you should try to hide some from the T man to put aside for your anni celebration!!!

Yeah Jenni, its a bit hard to look doey eyed at each other after the first few hundred times of eating out with each other!

Re the bar tour, I dont know yet. It sort of feels like its going to happen but gee I dont want to seem too forward!

We hope to go on the big holiday next Christmas 2008New Year 2009.
Meanwhile we have booked to go down to Albany in the Caravan for 2 1/2 weeks straight after Christmas.. We usually go for 1 1/2 weeks..

Gail go, you have been reading the posts long enough to know what Angie, Gath and Co are like.
They all seem like very nice people, one big happy family.. you would have a ball..
