Stella, do you mean the umbrellas, the tote bags, the caps? Or the button that says ''I survived Opening Day''? How about an almond croissant at
Mrs. London's?, or betting on in the stakes race, Fourstardave? Lunch at the Gideon Putnam?

Julie, no I have not decided what to get yet. Maybe a new camera! It's been crazy here with sports, the end of school year, getting D#1 home from college and graduation. We spread ourselves way too thin in the spring. I'm hoping things will be calmer next week!

Stella, you WILL survive! I remember well those crazy May/June days. Our second daughter's birthday is in May, and we always felt as if she was a little overlooked because of all the 'end of year' activities. Both daughters were active in music as well, so had multiple recitals to add to everything. Things will start slowing down now for you, I hope.

Julie: Hi. FYI: Kathy/Valrico is at Fripps Island at the beach this week with all the kids and grands and, I think, no computer.

Wow, you get around topper! We love (especially the kids, they get a kick out of it) the tshirts, caps, umbrellas etc. They are actually good quality and have lasted a long time. As for those other things, way too expensive and out of our league. We usually don't pay attention to the names of the horses, unless it has some meaning, like 'college girl'. We pick them for how pretty they are and only for $1. We never go to Travers and we just stay for a couple of races, otherwise it gets too hot.

Hi everybody/anybody...don't know what you all were talking about, and there is no catching up as we all know...so here I am. Hope all are having a great day. I've checked out the receeps page and found some yummy dishes there that I will try. I was also reading about the low cost of lamb in Austrailia....Its rather costly here...particularly center cut chops...which I love. H doesn't eat lamb, so as much as I'd enjoy a leg of lamb...its no go. Well I wil hang around for a few, but usually I'm alone so I won't hold my breath....don't have enough to do that... For those who are thinking breakfast...here's some for you...

Hi Stella, Rola, & Mamacita. Mama, it's lunchtime for me (I have soup heating in the microwave). It is another cold day here, we finally have some rain & I think a little bit of snow. Lots of snow falling in the Snowy Mountains.
Stella, I will try to get over to your page later & leave a message.

If you don't have a lot of money on it, watching a race outside the track on those wonderful TV monitors they have in the trees in the picnic area makes for a pleasant and relaxing day. Of course, that's kind of the opposite of what motivates you (me, anyway) to go to the track in the first place...

We used to use lamb for spiedies. It's seasoned and cooked on a skewer and eaten on a large slice of italian bread with speidie sauce. It's local to the town my hubby is from, which is all italians.

topper, I have seen a lot of families making a day of it at the track in the picnic area watching the monitors. I never saw the purpose of going there and not actually watching the horses. But we don't bet, so that probably makes the difference.
