Hi Stella and Rena. The cat came in and woke me up and I could not get back to sleep. Have the second half of an umpires exam to do today so will go and see if I can get another hour in before I start off for the day.

Rena, I meant to tell you that I love that song, 'Blue Bayou' by Linda Ronstadt. I saw her in concert many years ago (in the 70's). She was one of my favorites back then. She has a great voice!

Lawn Bowls. Did the theory exam last week. Pass mark was 90% and do not know what I got. Today is measuring and pass is 100% It is using all this equipment I not not overly familiar with.
We had 6 weeks of lectures with homework assignments each week. I thought I had left that behind years ago.

June, add me to the umpire inquiry. My hubby umpires High School and Recreational League baseball games. Big written test initially, then a class to qualify each year. It's funny, he gets more grief from the adults than he does from the kids!

Lawn Bowls? (I'll look it up.) Why do you want to be an umpire? Sometimes it's not pleasant, especially with kids with parents -- and each one has two of them.

I'm fine, thanks. I used to call volley ball, high school (no one was allowed to speak to me) and recreation league adults (wouldn't hush).

How's the weather in SC? Here in MD, it seems we skipped spring and went right to summer. High 80's, Low 90's last couple of days.

We just had one of those storms that if the news tonight says there was a tornado, you say you knew it.

I'm good. Fixing pork chops tonight, with acorn squash and some kind of salad.

Our other lady umpire is retiring as she is almost 80 and has trouble getting up and down to measure. Most of the women in the club are over 60 so do not expect any hassles. Hubby has done coaching and umiring for baseball and he has also done the one for bowls and he says the baseball was much simpler

It has been in the mid90's today and yesterday.

We had one of those storms blow through Sunday evening. Lost a couple of tree limbs, but for a change the electricity stayed on

I cut the squash in half, scoop out the seeds and add brown sugar. Wrap it in foil and bake.
