I'm trying to get together the magazine orders my son had to sell for school. I HATE all of the fundraising that is done. We end up hitting the same people all the time and buying the remainder ourselves!

Thank you vdV and Becky. Jenni, that's not cold at all! We can probably get that cool on a summer night and in the winter, that temperature is a call for shorts. At least for the kids. lol

Jenni, google is great for conversion, just type in '11c to f' vola 51.8. Works for just about anything, meters to feet, AUD to USD....

If you are in a temperate climate then I guess it would feel cold. My inlaws moved to North Carolina for the late spring, summer & fall and to Arizona for the rest. When they come back here to visit in the summer, they are always cold. Their bodies are no longer used to it. Whereas, we have the gradual (usually) change of seasons here so we have time to acclimate.

vdV, I don't know much about planes. Can tell the difference between a Cessna, Mooney and Piper. Is it made in Australia?

Cold/hot is relative, this last summer one day was 42C (107.6F) and the next was 16C (60.8F) that felt freezing!

Stella I think Bocce has regular round balls where in Lawn Bowls the bowls have a bias so when you send them towards the 'jack' they go out like a 'banana' and then bend back in. It does get played indoors but our weather is good enough for us to play outdoors all year round.
I have never played sport before (always hopeless) and I started this mainly for the social benefit but I am quite enjoying it. Measuring went OK today. Still waiting for the written results. I really did not want to be an umpire but we did need someone and it is only when we have competition games and then mainly to do a measurement if the players cannot make a decision themselves.

Becky, Cessna have there wings above where you sit(high wing), Piper have the wings below (low wing). The Jabiru is like a small Cessna, the Jabiru is made in Australia. The name Jabiru comes from the name of an Australian water bird (up north)

vdV, I'll have to check out the page. My FIL flies a Mooney, but I won't go up with him anymore. He's 82 yr. old and I don't know how.

June, that's very good of you to step up like that. It's not easy to have to learn the particulars for the rules and take the tests. I hope it all goes well.

Becky, the Mooney's are interesting, like a Piper are low wing, but their tail is different, it seams to pint forward whereas most others point rearward

Stella no, you can not easily open the door in flight, and why jump out of a perfectly good plane anyway?

When we were in college, my hubby and his roommates went skydiving from a small plane, but I don't think it was quite that small. One of his roommates was very tall and when he went out to stand on the bar supporting the wing, he hit his head, slipped the wrong way and almost took the pilot out of his seat because the safety cord was attached to the pilots seat. Needless to say, he never went up in a small plane again! It wasn't funny at the time but we laugh about it now. (30 years later)

vdV, we used to go up with him, but with age and a few health issues... Whenever he asks, I hear my dad's voice, 'It's not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop.'

Stella, any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Any landing you can use the plane again straight after is an excellent landing

I've never been in a small plane. I think I would be afraid. A long time ago I went on a business trip in a plane that sat probably 24 people and that was too small for me. It made me nervous when the pilot took out a map and opened it up between him and the copilot.
