I think it's harder to try for a special number, especially if you can't get to a computer at different times of the day.

I was WAY too distracted, and completely forgot about 3333.

Congrats, Heidi! Two pairs of pheasants! Are you going for a "full house?"
Does that make 3 males and 1 female? Luckily, I was typing slowly, or you would have had an accidental TOPP. I didn't realize we were ready for one.

I'm sorry for getting 3333, Heidi! I wasn't paying any attention to numbers - and you were concentrating on the bidding!

The 2
females I'm going after don't come up for auction for another 4 days, 20 hours. Different seller. Unrelated birds.

Right now I have 4 males and 2 females. I'll end up with 4 pairs, but a friend wants a pair.

Don't be sorry, Julie. I'd rather have the pheasants.

I hope you get the 2 females also, if you're planning to breed them. You'll have a nice gene pool.
Is a special license or anything required for purchasing the birds online or for shipping them? I'm curious, because hubby and I (well, mostly me) and a couple of other homeowners are thinking of trying to get a couple of new peacocks/peahens for the owner who has them. One or 2 were attacked by wildlife this summer, and it appears that one was poisoned, probably by the nutcase homeowner who tried to have them removed from the neighborhood. One person is wondering if there's a way to purchase eggs and either ship or take them to his parents in Europe.

So this last bid was actually for 2 pairs, not 1? I'm confused, but glad you were able to get that many. Are the pheasants terretorial?

Suzy...an ultrasound is relatively quick and simple for 'little' women. For big women it takes a lot of time. There are machines and machines when it comes to mammography.
Most places only do an ultrasound if there is something suspicious or NQR on the x-ray. This had ALWAYS been the case with me until I found the best machine in Melbourne...not only has it resulted in half the number films needing to be taken per view but because it is digital the radiographer can see what she has taken there and then on the spot and doesn't have to develop the films to see if she has got it all in. The RMH has only had the machine for a couple of years.
I ask for maximum 'squish'...more pain = more gain!!! Gets me out of there quicker and I just compare it to some of the other ghastly procedures I have had done and it isn't so bad. Pain is relative. My R breast swelled up after surgery last year and I thought it was going to explode...the skin was blistering and breaking down under the tension...this is nothing compared to that. [must confess they are achy now after the pummeling this morning - paracetamol to the rescue!]

This particular species is not territorial. Some species are, and some are so nasty that they'll kill any other birds they see.
No license is required for these, or for peacocks. Eggbid sells both birds and eggs, but I would hate to see the pile of regulations involved in taking the eggs overseas.

Bean, I quite agree about more squish to accomplish better view. The hospital I go to for my views not have one digital. Because of my history of frequent call-backs for more views, they usually try to use the digital for me. That way they know right away if they need more views. Sorry for the achiness, but preferred to not knowing if they got the views they need. I assume paracetamol is like our Tylenol?

Heidi and Mama...really enjoyed your Christmas tales...
Mama...your poor mother...what a worry after all that arm bending!
I found Santa's stash one year and promptly changed my list of requests....I KNEW the truth that year after he had been but didn't let on for many years afterwards. When you are onto a good thing stick to it. I always used to tell Lachie that "those who believe receive"...

night Julie...I managed to read between the lines...yes to Tylenol question...
"The words acetaminophen and paracetamol come from the chemical names for the compound: para-acetylaminophenol and para-acetylaminophenol. The brand name Tylenol also derives from this name: para-acetylaminophenol. In some contexts, it is shortened to APAP, for N-acetyl-para-aminophenol."

Hello lovely SA7 people - just coming in without reading the posts to let you all know everything went really well with my son Andrew today. He is meeting with his sister on Friday to sort out things with her, which I expect will go well as each is anxious to get their relationship on track again. Then we'll have a big family party and I'll see my lovely grandies as well. Turns out dil ahd a big hand in making him see sense and build bridges which I am most grateful for. I am happy and relieved!! Thank you all for your support, it meant a lot to me.

Yay Cyn! Not only did things go well, but DIL is going to be a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem - I can't think of a better starting point!!!!! I am so happy for you!

Hi - back again been reading the pages I missed.
Party on the weekend, I hope but am phoning the little girls tomorrow afternoon - they're busy today. Oldest one Hayley remembers us and is excited, she's 8 and a half. Next one, Emily, just 7 is not sure she remembers us but, I think, will when she sees us particularly her beloved Poppy. Little one Chloe, 3 on Dec 11 woldn't be expected to remember us but according to her Dad is a happy friendly little thing. Can't wait!!!
