We have had a rainy old day here, which at least made it cool enough to cook the traditional roast, served after a garlic prawn starter, and followed by fresh summer fruits, ice cream, plum pudding and custard.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Greg. No run for me yet, my youngest wanted to take me out to breakfast so that took precedence (just!) In a little while I'll run to the gym, work off the breakfast, then run back - a cold one will be in order later in the day and I may even be able to fit an extra one in for you!

Hello Greg... greetings and salutations as we enter another year.. I hope 2014 brings you all that you desire most..

Life has been a bit out of kilter for me over the last few years... births, deaths and marriages have distracted me from one of the finer pleasures in life.. spending more time here with you all. It is wonderful not to be forgotten despite being AWOL.

If it wasn't for Facebook I would have no idea of what most people are doing. Really looking forward to Jane & Kathy's arrival in a couple of months.. hasn't that time gone quickly!

I'm going to be really busy until the end of July with study and work. Will be needing a reward after that so who knows what the Bean might get up to or end up. If you are planning any BIG trips south please keep me informed.. ok?

Hi Greg... yes we have many broken branches from 6 pine trees that had been standing for around 20 years. It is easier to look at it as snow is covering most of them...except for the weaken cedars.last week, we had heavy snow bending 1/4 of the brenches. Pruning and shreddind will give a lot of work this coming spring
