I've only seen a few. I don't touch our cars anymore with all the computers that are in them now. Still can diagnose by sound and performance though.

Hi Cyndi.
Becky we don't have any kids either. I only have 4 nephews - 2 who live in France (12 & 8), & 2 who live in Sydney (8 & 5). My sis had her children when she was around 40 years old, so that's why they are so young

I had to try to Topp because I need to stay number 4 on the list. Can't let that Gail or that Brenda catch up (they are closing in fast.

Cyndi, the boss is a cosmetic physician .....

What's it doing Cyndi.

Do you get 'strange' looks from people when you tell them you don't have kids? Sometimes I get a look that makes me feel kind of guilty.

Yes, Becky, strange looks of all varieties. Also weird & sometimes rude & inappropriate questions because people always make assumptions about why no kids, & usually they're wrong.

When I taught I found a good response. When the kids(teanagers) would ask me why, I'd just say, 'We can't.' No explanations.

Interesting work--I'm sure you have some interesting patiients. I did billing, insurance and collections for a pulmonary doctor for 23 years before I retired a year and a half ago. Becky, it has always had a noise in the rear end. The rear end has been replaced twice and it's still there. I don't hear the noise, but it really annoys hubby.

Cyndi, Chrysler's are known for rear end noise. It might be normal. If it's still under warranty, take it to a different dealer and ask them to diagnose. Had a Charger that had so many different sounds it about drove me nuts. Haven't bought one since.

Cyndi, it's a different sort of medical office to most, & a lot of stuff done that I would not have imagined before I worked here.
Becky, I once had someone say to me 'well you've still got time'. I was about 42 years old at the time & because I thought she was being really nosy I came back with a very curt 'we can't' type of retort. She didn't speak again, & I guess I was probably a bit rude, but it does get very annoying.

Cyndi, glad to hear.

Hubby wasn't too thrilled when I told him. I told him a rude question deserves that type of answer.

Glad to see you back, Gail.
He only drives it to church and the grocery store, drives his beamer or truck most of the time. I don't think he'll buy another jeep, but it's been mostly my car anyway and that's why we bought it, and like I say, I don't hear it.

I've had three cars in my life that wouldn't misbehave in front of a mechanic.

My second eldest sister ,she's 13-14 years older, always said she didnt want kids, she worked for the gov and was fairly 'high up'. Anyhoo her 1st marriage broke up for prospective husband #2 and the same year H and I had our first she up and started having babies! In hindsight she really should have stuck to the decision she had held till she was 35.

My car at the moment keeps flashing a 'check engine' light at me. The instruction manual says that this is serious & should be seen by a mechanic. But of course it never comes on when hubby is driving, so he just thinks it's got something to do with the way I drive it!! And since I leave it to him to take the car to the mechanic I don't think it will ever get seen to.

Oh Ruby, don't you just hate THAT look mechanics give you. That 'Hey lady its just a loose wingflangenut, nuthin to worry about. Have it fixed in a jiffy' look. Then they turn away rolling their eyes muttering 'neurotic women' under their breath. on top off that it takes all day to 'fix' they charge you a fortune and when you drive away, THE SOUND IS STILL THERE!...or is that just me.
