WooHoo Stella. I got caught up at work, & I missed my chance for 4 in a row I see that Stella's tactics were to CP until she got the Topp then go to bed
Hi again Cyndi, it was only 7 mins between your post & Stella's - but you can see that now.
I might go away for awhile, it is a little too distracting to chat here, while there are clients.
I will do the Sudoku in the paper instead. Bye

I think a lot of us have it. This started about 2 yrs. ago. Doctor said that time of life. He offered sleeping pills, but said no way. Would rather be tired than drugged.

Since I started on CPAP, I've averaged 5-6 hours sleep a night, but never seems enough for me.
I think some of us stay here because of the insomnia.

I've talked to others who have gone through this and they said that it seemed to go away all at once. Hope so. As soon as my head hits the pillow, my brain goes into high gear.

I do take meds to sleep, but not necessarily sleep meds. I take Zanaflex which is a muscle relaxant/pain med, but it serves to put me to sleep. However, without the CPAP I wouldn't stay asleep. BTW if thy ever mention Lunesta, run away.

Not really. The oldest niece is married, works and has a little girl. 2 of her brothers are in college and live away from home. Youngest brother still lives at home, but is never there. 1 nephew is married with 4 kids (2 not his) and his brother is leaving this fall for U of A. Never saw the other 3 nieces much.

I've talked to people who have used sleep aids and they say that the side effects are almost as bad as the insomnia.

Do you have chronic pain or is Zanaflex to help you sleep?

Well, that's their loss. I think if you're fortunate enough to have family close by, you should take advantage of it. when I was growing up I always envied my cousins--they all lived near my grandparents and came and went there as much if not more than home, same with each others' homes. We didn't have that advantage.

I agree, even the Zanaflex (in addition to a few other of my meds) make my head really 'swimmy' in the morning, and I'm still sleepy. I take it for rheumatoid arthritis that I've had since I was 13, osteoporosis, and mostly for back pain. Too bad it never gets rid of the headache!

University of Arizona. He's going for a masters in biochemical engineering. Boy, what a mouthful. He's never been away from home or had a job. Big awakening for him.
I was the youngest, so most of the cousins were doing their own thing. We visited my mom's side of the family at least once a week. Hubby's side only saw each other once a year at KY Lake. His dad is originally from KY and his mother was from PA.

My parents were both from PA, but we were all born and raised in Maryland, right outside of DC.
You were the youngest of how many?

I have had a touch of arthur for about 25 yrs. I'm lucky, most of the time I either ignore the ache or take a Tylenol.
