BRENDA, you could sub other fruit for th epineappe. those little mandrian oranges and some orange juice might suit, but do not cook the oranges. turn off the fire, add the oranges and let just the hot food warm them. Cooking Mandrian oranges cause them tu burst, ask me how I know :>)How about some of the cumquats someone was trying to give away the other day? Plums would also go nicely.

Since you have been givig recipes o here today. Does anyone have one for venison. Our local Costco had venison on special and I bought some even though we have never tried it before

Mizt that sounds nice.... I'm not too adventurous in cooking (but getting better) so it is nice to hear some recipes which other people recommenr

Brenda, what type venison did you purchase? i cook venison all the time, and basically sub it for beef of like kind in a recipe. I do burgers, hamburger steaks, spaghetti, soups and meatloaf from ground venison. If I have butterfly tenderloin, I put that on the forman grill, it is very tender. I make stew from tougher cuts. I do a pot roast when i can get a roast. I make a smothered steak and stirfry from other steak cuts. We do not eat beef, venison is more heart healthy.

If you get a chance today, check out my YOU TOBE for today. A most unusual sound, from a group few of you would have heard of. I happened to see them on public TV last night and looked them up. let me know what you think.

MizT The venison I bought is cubed so could be used for stews. If it can be cooked just like beef I shall be trying it soon.

Brenda, Venison has a slightly stronger taste then beef [I now think beef is wimpy ] so use your stronger spices with it. For a stew, I might use garlic and a packet of french onion soup mix along with my veggies. I hope you enjoy, we sure do.

Brenda. last time I had Venison, was in Cleethorpes / Grimsby in a Restaurant in 1979. Went there with my friend Sue and her Uncle and Aunt.. while on a 7 month holiday in UK, Holland and Europe...
BTW.. it was very nice... the venison !!!

Jenni, your photos are lovely, and show some degree of compentancy with a camera. I enjoyed seeing them. I espically like the lake, such blue water.

ROLA, I haave not yet made the pineapple beef dish. I did not have pineapple. I should go shoppin tomorrow and get that, and give it a try. Tonight's dinner entree was a planned over. i had the Foreman grill our night fore last, did some chops, and some chicken. we did the chicken tonight. A nice key west marinade as a sauce, tasty.

Thanks Rola - I just thought it was fun to play around with flickr. Not to mention that someone commented on my page about how nice my photos were, but they weren't mine. I then felt guilty at using someone elses photo on my page.

Great weekend away. The weather was beautiful, slightly on the cold side, but sunny..
Lots of Walks, heard and saw lots of birds, saw a mob of Kangaroos on the side of the road..
went on a Sunday BBQ/Picnic at the nearby Dam - woefully low water level..

That is a story heard all around the country isn't it? The low water level that is. It is a bit of worry.

I'm going to have to turn off the internet very soon - we've got some people coming to do advanced training with boss, & I will be involved, & the bosses wife is coming in too (don't want her to see what I do!!) So if I disappear you'll know why

Hurricane Barry brought us some rain, and it was sorely needed.
