Good Morning SA8, so not here.
Tami I cheated and googled this hehe!
Anzac Day is a national public holiday in Australia and New Zealand, and is commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. Anzac Day is also observed in the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and Tonga.

Tami - Anzac Day is the day our nation remembers the fallen Aussie heroes from WW1 right through to present day Iraq. It is a very important day to most Australians.

Cynthia: Anzac day sounds like our Veteran's Day or Memorial Day. As a military wife, I can appreciate that other countries respect their military too.

Hello everyone. A nice sunny day, so far - bed's made, washing's on the line - mmm, what to do next?
MizTricia, I used to make all my kids' clothes - back in the 80's, when styles were simple and colourful, and my new overlocker could do just about anything! Rob would find something to amuse the kids and I would whip up skirts and shirts and all kinds of things, and the kids were always thrilled! Yes, I indoctrinated them young, Homemade is better made! And they believed it, mwa-ha-ha! Even made shirts and pants for the boy - remember those psychadelic pants that were all the rage (can't remember what they were called) - dead easy to make, and he loved them! Those were the days, my friends!

Hi Suzanne - yes, Anzac Day is like your Memorial and Veterans days. I am going to watch 2 of my grandchildren march with the Scouts in an Anzac parade on Saturday - it will be followed by a service in remembrance of the fallen. There will be thousands of these marches and services all over Australia. Also we can watch the main march/service in our state capital cities on TV. I always watch that - I used to see my father & uncles marching but now there is only one uncle left - he's 90 but he will be marching, leading his batallion. Always brings a tear to the eye.

Suzanne - I want to take Bejewelled off my page but my hubby is addicted to it and would be lost without his daily fix of it. I love any games, am a cryptic crossword addict and I dabble in mosaics and scrapbooking as well as collecting art deco/art nouveau items - furniture, china glassware, books, history etc.

I've been trying to take it easy today, but ended up working the sheep. I had to sort out and weigh 5 (had to be a specific weight) lambs for lamb chops for a Kentucky Derby party in a 5 star restaurant. They have already been delivered to the plant for processing first thing in the morning.
Now I'm gonna feed dogs, then go to bed. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow.

Heidi, I hope you do feel better tomorrow. Lamb chops for a Kentucky Derby Party? Nothing like getting them fresh from a local farm.

Is that a magnolia blossom for Magnolia Ky?

Suzanne, here is a link to the world clock, it helps me keep up with the times across Oz.

I keep this is a tab top of my screen and can check it out anytime I get confused, which is often. Good to see you posting here. You asked about hobbies. I grow flowers in containers, sew, and make quilts now. I have a few photos of quilts on my page if you care to look. Also made some permanent gift bags this year. I have made jewelry ornaments for my Christmas tree. years ago I crocheted, learned to knit, all kinds of crafts really. Like play solitaire on the puter, and MahJongg, and of course sudoku.

Thanks MizTricia for the info on the world clock. I have enough trouble with the East Coast of the USA!!! You sound like we have a lot in common with the puter games!!!! I have tried to crochet & knit, but I have trouble keeping the rows straight...any suggestions?? I am also left handed, so that makes it hard too!!

Heidi: I love lamb chops!! I am jealous, I've never been to the Kentucky Derby. My mom had a friend who used to breed race horses years ago and a few of hers ran in the derby. Any ideas for recipes for grilling the lamb? I've done olive oil, rosemary, salt & pepper. I'm making boneless pork chops tomorrow. Warm enough here to grill them. Any ideas on seasoning????????

Suzanne, I like pork with Greek Seasoning. If you cannot find it in the store, do what i did and goggle it, Greek seasoning + recipe. I found a really good one, has dried mint in it and an interesting mix of spices. It is yummy on pork. Of course you have to have the mint, but I have this large jar of dried curly spearmint from back when I grew all kinds of mint, years ago.

My house looks lovely and tidy now except if you look at the dirty windows, junk drawer, computer room, pantry and weeds in the garden.Oh also the pile of ironing that I rarely do but hide.
I still feel relaxed enough knowing that I have accomplished a great deal and Greg will notice how busy I have been.

Sending hugs for Kailah and her Mummy and Daddy, Nola.

Suzanne, great to see you here, and kudos to you for remembering how to sign in all by yourself! I have a hobby, it's called eating! Along with rosemary on my lamb, I add garlic.

I will be going to the local dawn service on Saturday morning to remember our Anzacs. I will also be thinking of my Mum and another ex-service friend who is going through a tough time healthwise at the moment.
