Good morning everyone!! Have my coffee, FINALLY slept better lst night. Woke up once, when Darrell started coughing, went back to sleep. Still a bit tired, but feeling better.

Perhaps if elaborate a little more on my plans for the Halloween bash...my guest is going to come as Morticia...she thinks she needs to lose a little weight but I think she is perfect as she is. LOL...She already has the hair for it...I am just going to add a white streak to her locks...

Bean - you are so mysterious! If I could come to your Halloween party, I'd come as Cleopatra - heavy make up is SOOOOOO fun!

hmmm...so does Morticia...she has VERY heavy makeup....her clothing isn't quite as revealing as Cleo's...are you an exhibitionist? LOL...snort!!

Last night wasn't as bad as the previous night. The storms were nearby, but not on top of us.
I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my Hitchcock lightning smilie. I felt it fit the intensity of the storms.

Hello everyone, I'm back for a while. Just pulled some dandelion weeds out of my rose beds & cut some lilacs...I have 3 lilac bushes that are just starting to bloom...
Heidi: Glad the storms weren't on top of you this time, how were the dogs last night?

A lot calmer, but clinging to me. It's funny, but the younger dogs aren't afraid of thunder. As they get older, usually around 8, they develop a fear of thunderstorms. So if there's the slightest rumble, I have 9 basket cases. They can tell the difference, too, between thunder and firing practice at Fort Knox. I can't.

Oh poor things!!!! My dog isn't afraid of thunderstorms, but she HATES the UPS, FedEx, or ANY other diesel truck. She barks like crazy until they leave... We think her previous owner had trucks like that and she is claustrophobic. We tried to get her a dog igloo (biggest one, she is a shepherd mix) and she would have nothing to do with it...

We're 40 miles away, but since we're on high ground, it sounds like only 10 miles. The acoustics around here are crazy anyway. As the crow flies, we're 1 mile from the Gas Plant. When I am in my barn, I can hear conversations taking place there.... word for word. Like they were standing 10 feet from me.

I really want to wish all my dear friends a very happy Mother's Day. It is wonderful to have the company of so many other mom's when I need advice, to vent or just a good cry. Thank you to all and may the day be everything you hope for.

Suzy, my mother did give me a wonderful mother's day gift. Little beastie is back home and I am not allowed to leave my room. He is doing something, in secret, with his dad and I am NOT allowed to peek. Big beastie comes home tonight. The three boys are going to make me breakfast tomorrow. That can be interesting.

Heidi: I know what you mean about the acoustics. Where we live, everything echoes...we can hear the old munitions from the Army Depot when they explode them. Sometimes, you can even see the smoke.

My Mother-In-Law's memorial service should be over now. I do know that nobody in the family is interested in celebrating Mother's Day this year. Gil doesn't even want to hear it mentioned.

Sorry guys, thought I'd divulged the VIPs identities! Ian from Sydney and his wonderful wife Anne were passing through after visiting family further south. I had a wonderful evening and hope they did too!

Suzanne, we have a shepherd cross kelpie and she won't sleep inside anything either. She wants to sleep where ever we are!

I promised Gil some chicken stir fry when he gets home tomorrow, so I need to go off a chook right now. That's one of his favorite meals.

I would love to meet Ian and Anne myself, but I don't think it's very likely. If I can't find a dog/ farm/house sitter for 1 weekend, I don't think I can find one to let me go to Oz.

I have e-mailed back and forth with Ian (he taught me how to do avatars and smilies .... yes, it's his fault) and think he's one of the kindest, sweetest men alive.
