Love the family history stuff. Judy, so great that you can do that. I've been wanting to do it for years. A relative said that there is a saint in one of the branches. I'd love to find out if that is true. It's hard for me since I am first generation US.(born 3 months after my family moved here from Ireland) All of the records are in Ireland.

Stella, Ancestry.com now has so much available but you have to pay to get the info. My sister has been getting lots through them. Things that I could access for free a few years ago have now been taken over by them. There is also a lot available through the Latter-day Saints Church.
Hubby has a couple of Irish but mine just about all come from UK.

I emailed 5 photos to my niece yesterday and they never got sent. I think they are too big, 27mb. I'll have to check with my cable company to see if there is a limit. I always thought cable could handle anything, I guess not!

Stella, I use yahoo and I think they have a 10MB limit per email. I've never stretched it out to that though, always shrink them first. Not so good if the receiver wants to print them.

Maybe that's why I can never get a photo small enough to submit for a puzzle. Although my old camera wasn't as big and I couldn't get them submitted then either.

I was sending photos the other day and they got rejected because of size. Was trying to send two at a time and had to go back to one and when it was gone , then I sent the next one!

Sending one at a time would take a VERY long time! I'll have to burn a disc for my niece and give it to her when I see her again.

Heidi Hope you get lots of information from the breeder so that you can soon have success with your breeding pairs.
June I know what you mean about having to do vegetarian meals. It's easy when you have to do it all the time but when guests come I can never think of suitable meals.

Gail, I do not want to change our diet as Ken would have a fit. Just need to adapt with plenty of vegies.for all of us. I will wait and see what the preferences are, rather than do too much beforehand. I have tried google and Buddhist sites.

Rosacea discussion:
a good website is www.rosacea.org, site of the National Rosacea Society
Suzanne, I am taking an oral antibiotic, doxycyclin, and using another antibiotic in a gel form to apply to my face, Metrogel. The oral is generic and I think very cheap.
I was concerned about taking antibiotic for so long, especially when I found out rosacea is not bacteria caused. further research says this particular antibiotic is probably acting as an anti-inflamatory (drugs can do more than one thing, think aspirin for pain, fevor, inflamation, blood thinner, etc) They also say this antibiotic is not prone to cause resistant bacteria, another of my concerns. This med has long been used for acne.
I found out many things can trigger a flare of rosacea, and one of mine is heat. I can just wash my face with warm water, or get in shower and not even wash face, and I am beet red.
They also think rosacea might be an autoimmune disorder, why am I not surprised?

'ELLO! Just off to grab a cup of coffee and got sidetracked catching up on reading.
June - Dino for 2 weeks - what a joy! You are so generous with the Sydney B & B.
I eat lots of salads, but I can imagine that may not be the seasonal food right now with winter descending! It's always such an easy veggie meal.

HEIDI, I do hope you "overpopulate" soon, baby birds would be sooo neat! How far are you traveling today to meet this finch breeder?
HI KATHI, good to see you back again. Hello to AIMEE also and welcome.
Loving the ancestor stories. I have a couple from Hubbies side to tell, but later.
Stella, I also vote for a mini storage unit for you, would be so much easier, and just for the summer.
Broni/possum, neat trick! I will wager you cannot do that again!
BEAN, large amount of travelers checks? I would be digging furiously though those boxes! Travelers checks here do not expire. I found some and used them after 10 years. BEAN, mine were in an old purse! Have you looked there? Only $200 worth, but was a nice windfall.

For whoever asked: "Putting up squash" is a term often used in the South meaning to preserve fresh foodstuffs in some way for later eating. I was blanching and freezing mine. "Blanching" is to bring vegetables to a certain hot temp to kill bacteria, then quickly cooling to stop the process before veggies are cooked, so veggies are "fresh" tasting when thawed and cooked later.

Judy: Thanks for the info!! I will see what I can find. I know my grandfather (on mom's side) came thru Ellis Island, so that should be a good place to start.
Cyn: I know about the LDS church's geneology (spelling??) database...my friend Janet is a member of the church & her husband is an elder there, going to lunch with her next week...will ask her for guidance.
Got my coffee, hubby still in bed, He got home after 1 a.m. (works till midnight), going to let him sleep in. After all, he let me sleep the other morning, it's only fair, right??

MizT: Thanks for the rosacea information, my skin reacts the same way yours does to the warm/hot. Same thing with the eczema, cool showers are best (not when its cold out though,Brrrrr)...
I know I missed some folks, about a page behind in the reading.

I'm back! I have 3 cure baby finches. Two are white breasted, and one purple breasted. One of the white breasted is yellow headed and the other 2 are red headed. I don't know the genders yet. They're only 3 months old. We had a great discussion on nutrition improving fertility and health, and he told me all about what and how he feeds.

Greetings to you Aimee.

The truck is running just fine now. It just had a dead battery. I had accidentally left the headlights on.
