I've been waiting for 3 days for some. Gath usually approves them first thing in his morning. He must be taking some time off for his birthday.

HI SUZANNE, what's for lunch today?

I just did the again, temps cool enough to be out mid day. Still wore my hat, and my new invention . . . detachable sleeves.

I need long sleeves when in the sun, but hate putting on another shirt over what I am wearing, too hot. Not fun changing shirts either, so I cut sleeves from an old long sleeve white T, put elastic in the top of sleeve. Now I can slip sleeve on and up under whatever short sleeve knit top I am wearing. Easy on, easy off and I keep them with my hats.

Oh, I have a second reason I must avoid the sun. the antibiotic doc has me on for the rosacea say NO SUN.

I must away to finish putting up my squash. I found some yesterday at a very good price, bought enough to put up 7 quarts, blanched and put in the freezer. That kept me busy for a bit. I have the last 2 quarts to go, these 2 are the yellow summer squash, I have finished 5 qt zucchini squash.

MizTricia: Hello, lunch was tomato rice soup with basil, still not much appetite after being under the weather for 3 days...what a clever idea about the shirt!!!! I have rosacea too, never on medicine for it, just watch my sun exposure, what medicine are you on (if you don't mind me asking)??

Morning all!
Hi Kathi and Aimee!

CRAFTS...

MizT - I'm intrigued by 'putting up' squash. I see another google opportunity here... I also love the shirt idea. My doc won't give me anything for my rosacea. I'll have to nag him about it.

Brenda - I'm about to go into my girl's bedrooms with a big green bag and throw a lot of stuff out. I'm tired of the mess!

Suzanne - we're also supposed to watch what face products we use, noice and gentle...

Broni - I have an external hard drive that I load stuff onto now. I'm worried that it's only a matter of time until the computer goes blaaa... which reminds me, I saved all yesterdays stuff onto the regular hard drive. Not very consistent of me!

Suzy: That is so true about what we use, that is one of the reasons I have been a Mary Kay consultant for almost 11 years. Her products are gentle & safe for folks like us with rosacea...Just wish I could get the eczema on my hands under control, it's been flaring up a lot since I came back from Florida (it was bad there, lots of stress from my aunt--as much as I love her, she is SUPER critical of me!! (worse than my mom)

Suzanne, I have a friend whose mother has literally told her she is a waste of space. I was horrified. My mother can be very critical, but she has never gone that far. The saddest part is that if it were someone other than a family member, the comments could be blown off as unimportant.

Hi Nola, thanks for the well wishes...Sorry about Greg's job, I will keep good thoughts for him to find another one. Don't know what the economy is like where you are, but if it is anything like here in the US, jobs are tough to find & hold now, so I'll say a prayer, ok?

Suzanne .... it translates to 37º F. Kinda cool.
I was born in Wisconsin. There we say that Wisconsin has 9 months of Winter, and 3 months of bad skiing weather. And I don't ski.

Suzy/Heidi: Living in Utah for 5 years, I can relate to the cold...I wish I stayed in California when winter just drags on!!!!

Heidi: The Wisconsin comment about the skiing reminds me of how they describe Utah weather too!! Too funny!! There is a weather reporter out here who LOVES the winter, he skis, snownoards, etc... I don't ski either!

Hi Suzanne, hope you are feeling better.
Nola, hope things work out for Greg. Not an easy time.
Suzy, I do not mind the cold mornings as long as we get a nice warm day to follow. Bright and sunny here at the moment.
Hedi, will you sell some of the finches if you have some good success with the breeding?

Good evening everyone. Glad to see some many people posting. I did not have a chance on Sunday. Dylan's surprise was a hand made card. He needed dad to help him spell some of the big words. The boys made my day special. We also went to my niece's first birthday party. It was fun watching her smash up her cake. There was a big one to share and a little one just for her.

How is the family history going Judy? I started collecting info about 30 years ago but it is much easier to do now. I did talk to some of the 'oldies' then and collected all the certificates that were available.
We have also visited a lot of the areas in England and Nova Scotia from where they came.
It was graet fun in the records office in London going through the large hand written books. But now you can get all that through sitting at the computer!
