Empty house! I don't count it as empty until the bus actually pulls away...
Hubby is working extra hours at the moment so I get to do the morning routine all by myself. Sad face here.
June, that cough doesn't sound good. My math student was coughing and spluttering last night - hope I don't get it!!

Suzy I had a bit of a cough about a week ago and it has come back. Laura had a bit of a cold over the weekend and Sharon got it and was very low yesterday when she came in, after doing a school swimming carnival, to pick up Laura.
I am umpiring bowls today so that will be an easy morning. Hope nobody calls me.

June, colds can make you miserable. Hubby has been offered a free flu shot at work with $18 shots for us. He's not sure if he wants to have the shot as he has heard of people getting really sick afterwards. It's amazing how word of mouth stuff sticks more than science!

Off to do the feeding, and to sort out sheep to sell. I've decided to cut way back on my sheep numbers and have someone interested in all that I'll sell.

MizT - I was glad to see that you had posted. I had also heard about the shootings in Alabama and even though I know there's a large population there, it's nice to know that you and yours are OK.

Cyn, yes there are a lot of us Alabama, nearly 5 million. Almost 1/4 the number of people in all of Australia.
I read today that shooter had made a long list of "people who have done me wrong", and had 3 work places listed. He was inside the building of one of those work places, with lots of ammunition left, when he shot himself. I am glad he did before more people were killed.
What happens to people who do something like that? I cannot begin to understand.

Bobbie, hope all goes well for you next week, we will be thinking of you. Be sure you or Tami comes online to let us know how it goes. Good Luck.
I was reading last night and things were a bit foggy, I was not following the conversation too well. It seems when I said there was a whole page I had not seen, NOPE, there were Two pages I had not seen. Missed one altogether and NOW what I was reading made a lot of sense.
CRAFTS, cannot remember what else I was going to say. Back to my book, I hope to finish it tonight, it is due back at library tomorrow.
Hugs to all, and extras if you need them.

Sorted out 16 larger lambs to sell tomorrow. I have more to sort out another time. And then the little ones are growing like weeds.
Oh... 6 more lambs tagged in the last 2 days.

MizT, when I talked to hubby about the deaths in Alabama he gave his usual response - they did it in the wrong order again - If only they would shoot themselves first....

Suzy, there were 2 children involved in this, babies really. An 18 month old was killed with her Mother, while visiting the home of relatives of the shooter. Her 4 month old sister was injured in the leg, the only survivor of the group sitting on the front porch of that house. They were the wife and children of one of the police officers on the case. Just innocent bystanders, in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The German shootings were mostly in a school by an ex-student and include 9 children and a teacher who stood between the gunman and a student. All but one of the 15 dead were female.

The world seems to have gone mad but that happened here in sleepy old Brissie in 1957. A man in the street behind our school shot and killed his wife and small daughter and set the house on fire, as he came out of the house he took pot-shots at passers-by and cars in the street but not killing anyone fortunately. He then entered the house over the road, directly behind my classroom. I think he had a grudge against the man, who was at work, and shot the man's wife, 2 older daughters who were in the same classes as my sister and I, and another girl from down the street who was there waiting to go to school with the other girls. Meanwhile we were all milling around waiting for classes to start just behind the fence. Fortunately for us the police got there and when he saw them he shot himself and it was all over. The dying mother fell onto her baby daughter thus protecting her from death too. I used to be able to see the bullet holes in the post-war fibro walls from my seat in class. In those days we got no grief counselling and as I write this I still remember the loss of innocence, the fear that it might happen again, the bad dreams etc. Whoa, that was an outpouring of a memory I try to suppress.

Cyn, now you have spoken of it as an adult, I am sure it will no longer have the same impact. These things should not be suppressed, but talked about and dealt with. If you do have fears, seek help. They may not have had councilling then, but they certainly do now.

Cyn, it sometimes helps to talk about tragedies. I agree with Gail. If it is still too hard, get counseling now. It is not too late.
Broni, hope the mouth is feeling better. My boys are 3 years, 11 months and 10 days apart. The younger one has not started teasing the older one yet, but he is glad that he is "the baby" of the family.

Suzy, the teachers work in the same district I do. I did not know either one but am sorry for all involved.
The incident in German is even more sad. Students should be able to go to school and feel safe. This world has gone crazy.
