Morning Sudokuland!

I am having coffee, I made extra if you want to join me.

Brenda, get well soon, and I hope someone sorted out dinner for you. Should have brought you good chicken soup and lots of juice for that cold.

Broni, I love salmon patties also, huumm, must check pantry, if I do not have canned salmon, I need to pick up some today.

Is the apricot chicken recipe in our cook book? sounds like something I should try. I found a recipe with apricot glaze done with apricot preserves and soy, is that it? I have some nice home made plum preserves, I could make plum chicken. . . a recipe is only a suggestion hehehe

forget what else, but I must go check my grocery list now, no time to scroll back and read again. I will be out and about today, so have fun everyone, get well and stay safe.

I had the cough about a week ago and it cleared up but came backWednesday night. Sharon has it as well and she could not talk. Trouble is it is a dry cough and medication does not help. I did have hot lemon, honey and whisky before I went to bed and slept for a couple of hours..........how many of those can I have in a night???

I spent so long looking for recipes, you two turned the page on me. I had to go back to read what I missed. Now, I really am out of here for now, if I get my ffuts done quickly, maybe I can come back before I leave. Is that a good incentive to get moving this morning?

Everyone.
How well can you function with the cough, June? The hot lemon, honey and whiskey sounds good to me.... preferable to the alternative.... but don't go out driving under the influence.

Brenda. The chicken soup is a good idea for dinner. Jewish penicillin.

see a doctor for that cough, June. Or at least ask your pharmacist for a recommendation of the best over-the-counter meds.

Morning all!
June sorry to hear you are still coughing. I hope you got back to sleep.

Brenda, sorry to hear you are snuffly too, and I hope your son's trip to the dentist isn't tooo painful.

I think it has something to do with my complete lack of skill in that k room, but I could never get the mug cake to work. It came out disgusting, and that's from a chocolate cake lover.

Warning - kid story

Ally has been told a story about a boy with a broken arm. He told his doctor his arm was tingly and the doctor said not to worry, it's just your nerves. When his cast was taken off there was a family of huntsmen spiders living inside of it.

Needless to say, my assertions that it is an old wives tale were only partly believed, as she attempts to scratch bits she can't get at....

Just got the diagnosis on my tractor. It blew an O ring in a cylinder. For the power steering. It's always something. It'll probably be gone a few more days, but not more than a week.

Good morning lovely SA8 people.
I got up early this morning and started to get things done. I've run out of energy and will-power and I think I'll go back to bed - I feel sooooo tired for some reason. Catch you all later.

News story of the day: People have been calling 999 in England over a pony stuck in the mud - only it's not, it just has really short legs...

Our neighbor has a few like that. They are dwarf horses. The long bones (legs) are the ones that don't grow, and their heads have slightly bulbous foreheads. Like human little people suffering from Acondoplasia. (The most common form of dwarfism).

Hi Nola, bye Nola.

I am reading to try to finish the blasted dip ed. Want to know why I am here instead of reading? The latest paper is called:

Citizenship, Difference and Marginality in Schools: Spatial and Embodied Aspects of Gender Construction.

What a load of pompous rubbish. Why not just call say it's about girls in school?

Heidi, you can hate me later but we have 60 degrees at almost 6 pm and sunshine. It is a lovely sunny afternoon here. Not a drop of wet stuff in the state. Gotta love this weather.

back from the shopping, tired, but Al helped and it is all put away. I found the pepper and onion stir fry I had not been able to find in many months, frozen vegs, and at a very good price. One red or yellow pepper would be much more than this whole bag, and they are sliced, all ready to use. I stocked up!

We had one of the new Arby's Roast beef burgers. I know it is not a burger, if it is sliced roast beef, but that is how it is advertised. Had a coupon for a free one today and tomorrow, with purchase of soft drink. Most inexpensive lunch and very good, this is a HUGE sandwich.

I went to pick up new test strips, and asked if they could help with a problem with my meter, the date/time is not right now. I got a new meter. Only thing, she did not set it up for me this time. I have to push a lot of buttons. I must read a lot of directions fore I can do that. Oh well, I will miss in the morning's fasting blood sugar. I am just too tired and fuddle brained tonight to mess with it, must do tomorrow when I am rested and the brain is fresh.

On the last chapter of my book, think I will go and see how it ends.

Suzy.... I always thought that language was for purposes of communication. Too many people in academia don't understand that.

Heidi, no I did not, I did not think about it till I was almost home and to far and to tired to go back. It is not difficult if you follow the instructions, I watched her do it before and I have read the instructions, you just need your brain to do it and mine is taking a break at the moment.

Hi everyone. Just here for a minute.
I have made the chocolate mug cake and it is pretty good. I would also like the recipe for apricot chicken.
Brenda and June, hope you are both feeling better.
Suzy, I am laughing at what Ebob did too you. Sounds like something I would have done to my mom.
Be back later.

Speaking of language, what do any of you think of the current usage of "ality" added onto common words. Only one tired brain can remember now is functionality. I do not remember one useage when function would not have served the purpose.

Warning - pompousness alert

Technologies of normalisation in schools produce otherness and marginality, as it is not possible for all to attain absolute individuality in the cultural sphere. But the absolute/relative divide is challenged by people in their activities, and otherness and marginality are resisted... bla bla bla

Or should I have said 'pompousness' - oh dear, maybe we could get a government grant to write a paper about which is correct and when it is appropriate to use the term.

The most stupid part Cyn is that some of the ideas are good, but most people don't have access to them because they can't get past the ridiculous way they are written. I have had to force myself to read these things to pass my course, otherwise I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole yet, once I've worked out what they are trying to say, the ideas are not as pompous as the words. Well, sometimes.... sometimes they are just as pompous as they sound.
