Good morning lovely SA8 people and lovely visitors who have probably deserted us now that Easy is working again.
Suzy - you've sent the rain north. Col can't mow lawns on days like today. I think the rain is here until Sunday at least.

Supposed to be having mother/daughter day with Karin today if she can manage the drive here throught the pouring rain - I'll bet she begs off. We were going to see my Mum, then to lunch.
This afternoon both Col and I are getting our eyes tested. We both need new glasses - he stood on his and completely broke one arm of them. That was after he lost them in a pile of weeds. His mobile phone has suffered the same fate twice. Luckily both times he looked for it when he went to leave the customer, realised he'd dropped it and backtracked until he found it.

Hope you make it Cyn, though in the rain it might not be pleasant.

I just got new glasses and finished a book to celebrate - I have 3 pairs now. My old ones are perfect for the computer, a progressive pair so I can wear them shopping and read the food labels, and a pair so I can read in bed.

My cats love lying in the herb pots but now the wooden skewers sticking pointy end up seem to have discouraged them!

I should be out walking, but I don't wanna.

Alright, alright, I get the hint. No-one's gonna come out and play so get walking Gail. *sigh*

I've been out feeding poultry.

Heidi, I saw lots of poultry today at the fair. My favorite part was the incubator with all the baby chicks. Some had just hatched and there were a few shells cracking open. It is funny, to a city girl, to see an egg with a foot sticking out of it. They also had goats and rabbits.

I have a bunch of eggs in my incubator. Most are Araucana chickens, and I have 2 turkey eggs in there as well.

I am not sure what eggs they were. All I know is that the baby chicks or whatever were really cute.

Baby chicks are always adorable.

I have another early morning tomorrow. I have to sort out a cull heifer, load her up and take her to the processor before 9 am. It's a 1 hour drive each way.

I also sumitted the sunset photo ( on my page ) to Sudoku ( Tough Page ) .. will take months before it will show up, so dont hold your breath waiting!.

Been chinwagging firstly with Suzy, then with Tami, on the msn this morning..

Done not much else, must un-vel-cro myself from this ch-air, and do ffuts !!

Went to the gym again yesterday, but haven't lost any weight - not a single little bit. :( I know it takes time, but I thought maybe a kilo ... nothing! Ah well, will persevere - will find out on Saturday which machines of torture I should be using (we've just been on the walking/running thingies so far) We were both really sore for a few days, but seem to be not too bad at the moment. We're determined to get our money's worth, because it's quite expensive ... but then, being unfit can end up even more expensive!

When I was walking I lost almost nothing in kg, but lots of inches! Unfortunately I think I've gained the inches back....

Ebob has lost 5kg this year... wish I knew her secret!

Hi Suzy! We are really making an effort this time - we have our daughter's wedding coming up, and I really intend to look, if not GORGEOUS, at least presentable! And Rob really needs to lose weight too. We've been to the gym three times this week - I actually quite enjoy it, so far!

Suzy, I'll swap you our sun for a bit of rain! Moan, complain, likewise! ;)

Suzy, doesn't Ebob play lots of sport? That could have something to do with it! Unless she's still growing...

It's sport - no sport over the holidays, then full on again. She also chose going to a gym for sport, which she loves doing - go figure! Which reminds me - I didn't give her any money for that this week.... wonder what happened? Maybe they didn't go because of the rain.

I'd love to lose a few kg before next week, but don't think it's going to happen. Sigh. Nor the hair colour I was going to get. Turns out our share of the doc bills from Ally's arm are going to cost us our arms and a leg or two! Not complaining too much about that though as the alternative was a 90km drive in the middle of the night to go to a different hospital...

Afternoon SA8. Yes poor Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas. Declared a disaster area from the flooding. We are about 3 hours South of them and have had heavy rain here too.

I was just talking to one of my sisters who lives in Geelong, other side of Melbourne.
They need the rain badly, wish I could send it down to them.
Been out and about yesterday and today delivering my Avon.

Synoptic Situation: 9:00 am EDT Thursday
A trough along New South Wales north coast extends from a low off Queensland south coast bringing locally heavy rain to Northern Rivers. The trough will weaken later on Thursday as the low moves northward and the rain should ease.

This is an update of the warning issued at 4:10 am Thursday.
Heavy rain in the Northern Rivers possibly extending to northern parts of Midnorth Coast, may cause flash flooding.

Dangerous surf conditions north from Sydney should ease during the day.

Flood Warnings are current for the Orara, Bellinger, Nambucca, Macleay, Hastings, Manning, Gloucester, Williams and Paterson Rivers. A Flood Watch remains current for all NSW coastal rivers from the Queensland border to the Manning Valley [Taree area].

I did a shortened version today, which is at least one better than not going at all. Everywhere around here is uphill and down dale so it was still a workout, just not as full-on as the last two days.

Heidi, if only I had stayed around a couple more minutes, you would have given me enough of an excuse for not walking! Thank you for feeding the chooks for those couple of minutes, I need the exercise.
