I am VERY pleased to tell you all that my burn is much better...bean juice is pretty potent! The burn isn't hot enough to fry eggs on anymore and it isn't as painful to type...yay...

CynB... Epilepsy can be managed. Really. There are a h*ll of a lot of worse things she could have had.

Bean.... Have you seen a doctor for that burn yet?

I keep timing out, but the posts go through.

Bean.... OK..... if it's REALLY better, you don't have to go.

I need to feed the dogs and take the trash out to the road. I load the cans (96 gallon) into the tractor bucket, and drive down, since it's a furlong each way.

I just got timed out, too, but the comment went through.

Heidi, CONGRATS on winning the bid. Wow, 4 pairs of birds. I wonder how many you'll have by this time next year. (And IH away until tomorrow!)

So can anyone tell me where I put all this c stuff last year? I think I've worked out why I have 11 stockings for 5 people (counting Mum) - that box didn't make it down to the house last year and I decided it was easier to make some than go search for it in my delicate state. But where did all those shelf and wall decs fit!!!

Not here, just saying hi.

Cyn, I am over the moon for you.

Bean, hope your booboo isn't hurting too bad.

I have a sickie home from school today. We were at friends yesterday and when the sun came out from behind the clouds, it got a might bit hot. Think she got a touch of the sun.

Boy, getting timed out a lot today. It's been happening since almost the beginning of SA7 so I don't think a new page will fix it.

Afternoon Gail, I stopped in for another coffee break. The last couple of weeks have taken their toll on the whole family. Need lots and lots of caffeine to make it through the day!

I popped over to Liz's this morning for a cuppa, then went to the shopping centre near her place to look in on D#1 who works there. Had a cuppa with her and officially started my Christmas shopping!
Got back to my side of town and the phone rang from the high school...perfect timing!
Hubby wont be home till very late tonight, his car is in being serviced and wont be ready till 5, and of course, it is the other side of oona whoop whoop!

And now, I must back away from the pooter, and make it look as though I have done something today!
Two loads to hang out and a kitchen to spruce up, dinner to cook (actually meat to defrost!).
Might even get out in the garden.

Hi all. Back from SIL's. Meal went well, but found out that her surgery has been moved from Tuesday to tomorrow.

Now to read what I've missed.

MizT, if you have the time and inclination, I'll take you up on your offer of an avatar. Thanks.

Trouble's Mom, sorry to hear about your fall. Hope your eye and knee heal quickly.

Heidi, maybe get him one of those watches that charges itself while being worn. Any arm movement charges the battery.

Broni, I found a another Groves listed for the same town and was thinking maybe a relative. Sent you a PM with the info.

Rolanda, bet you enjoyed the peace and quiet yesterday.

Bean, have you tried aloe? The plant works great. Had a wood burning stove flame up in my face years ago. Smeared the juice all over my face, wrapped the fronds onto my hand and arm. The only tell-tale sign the next morning was that I was missing part of my eyebrows and eyelashes.
Since it's opened, I probably wouldn't put it on. I'd get to the doctor. Let him clean it and give you meds to get rid of the infection.

Gail, was going to tell you last night that nobody we know have birthday parties. Guess then they'd have to admit they're getting old.

CynB, so happy for you. May it be the first of many get togethers.

Not so un-nice Becky, just the truth! We all know it every time we try to do something that used to be easy...

I forgot to meet the bus!! If Ally had been hit by a car driving at 100kph (60mph) I'd be feeling pretty bad right now. Instead I am reminding myself that next January she will be managing on her own anyway as it isn't done to escort high school students across the road....

OMG...how did it get to this time of the day?
It is all good training in preparedness for next year Suzy...it is one less change for her to cope with. When Lachie started to walk to primary school by himself it was all I could do to stop myself ringing the school each day to make sure he had arrived....it is SOOOOOOOO hard allowing them to grow at times while still protecting them. We live close to his old primary school...in fact we live close to everything...including the city!

Suzy... a furlong is 1/8 of a mile. Horse races are generally run in furlongs if they're less than a mile. A Thoroughbred sprint, for instance, is generally 5 or 6 furlongs, unless it's for 2 year olds. Then they're 3 or 4 furlongs long.
I have yet to be beaten in Trivial Pursuit.

Thanks Becky...I am a big believer in the healing properties of aloe...and honey but that is a bit messier....
I was using that with great effect until I scratched it and became susceptible to and consequently infected...Now that it has dried and stopped oozing I can start using it again. My body is doing a good job on healing itself...must be all the fruit I eat...and the inner bean essence/juice of course. Never doubt the power of a bean.....

Thank you Heidi - my 2nd 'fact' for the day! I wouldn't play you at Trivial Pursuit unless my skin was feeling particularly thick that day!

I have tried to put photos of my decs on my page - to show how unthemed and unorganised our decs are, in contrast to the well planned and bootiful decs of others. The photos have turned out horrible though - so blurry you can hardly tell they're decs!! I will have another go with hubby's camera another time.

did some reading and missed everyone. burns, falls, AWOL rayray, layoffs, sick children....tis the season i guess. my friend's father died fri. due to head injuries from a fall from a ladder. he was 62. seems like the holiday season brings such sadness sometimes. mama, and broni i have been thinking you both of you. it can be hard to have a joyous season when you are missing those who brought you the most joy. i'm sure you have wonderful memories that help to sustain you.

my sister also asked us to help with a family she came in contact with. we got school outfits for the kids, plus coats, gloves and boots. when we delivered them to the family the mother had made hot chocolate for us. the need was so apparent, but the kindness they showed eachother and us was inspiring. i wish i could get the dad a job. he was just laid off at the end of november from an iffy place. hubby would have him come do some work for him, but we are pretty sure they are illegals, and the risk would be too huge for his small company.

it breaks my heart. the dad came to america when he was 17 years old with the dream to become a lawyer. 20 years, and three children later he is just hoping his kids will have the opportunities to do what wasn't possible for him.
