2:21 Hi to all.

Thought for the Day:

Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do.

Steve, I was wondering the same thing!! Maybe it was President Clinton's class in school?? For my class reunions we have usually gone to a local restaurant or club... nothing as impressive as the White House!!

Everybody!

He was a GREAT President, just a poor human being and husband. But he is quite a good sax player.

I wonder how many classmates he made passes at?

Who's reunion at the White House? 'Fess up, whoever you are! That would be quite the experience, wouldn't it?

Heidi, we just had our first major "disagreement." There were just too many things he promised to do that got forgotten. (He can't blame it all on congress)

A NAUGHTY CAT
Rayray; 23rd July 2008

Oh naughty cat! You are absurd –
to play with that now half-dead bird.
It’s now prostrate and makes no sound,
yet it used to sing and fly around.

You look at me with trusting eyes,
and, ‘though your instinct mine defies,
I must forgive you once again,
even when you cause me so much pain.

Yes! Wash you face of all that blood:
manicure; so you look good.
We’ll pretend the blackbird’s still alive,
but in future you must really strive –

- to act with greater courtesy -
towards Nature’s creatures; wild and free;
from fierce-some beast to peaceful dove,
each has a right to live and love.

You want not; I feed you well:
from your collar hangs a warning bell.
Would-be victims then might hear -
- you stalking them; to pounce when near.

Now you meow and purr at me;
despite we beg to disagree.
Perhaps I should your bottom smack,
to guide you true - on the right track.

But all you’d do is growl and spit:
it would not help the slightest bit.
I guess you’re born the way you are:
so such punishment would not go far.

Eve, you're a miracle worker--the sun's come out here! Ah, the power of the Sudoku community ...
Clinton playing sax at his reunion--I wonder if he had sax at his reunion ... there, my one and only pun of the year. Mea culpa.

You made me smile again, Rayray. The last lines are so true, so true! All cat owners (or those owned by a cat) recognize this.

Rayray, that last poem rings so true. I am looking at my Nemmy, and thinking the same. Although this time it is only a moth she has brought in. I have to say the last time she brought a bird to my feet, I thought it was one of the pet finches, so I picked it up and gently put in the cage with the others. Only then I realized it was a wild bird, acting tame because it was stunned. Needless to say, I set it free when it was flying frantically in the cage.

I have been out of touch for a while. We have been traveling in some wonderful country and then our computer crashed. We just came through Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. I wish I could share a couple pictures with you. Maybe later when I get my computer back.

We have been following much of the Lewis and Clark trail on this trip and then we stopped at a Visitor Center in The Grand Tetons. I found a statement worth sharing.
"Wilderness itself is the basis of all our civilization.
I wonder if we have enough reverence for life to concede to wilderness the right to live on?"

Amidst of a chaotic debate, horse trading and floor crossing, the present Govt won the confidence vote to remain in power to complete the tenure.Uhhmmm sigh...one worry less now, for we neednt have to face election immediately.

Jerry, you have to admit that Clinton is the only president to make sizeable drop in the national debt since Carter. All the presidents prior to Reagan worked towards paying off that debt since WWII. Reagan and the two Bushes have doubled the debt to 9 trillion dollars!

Shosho, I admit it... The other side of the coin; a good percentage of the jobs THEY CREATED, were minimum wage. Now the democrats whine about how no one can live on minimum wage.
