Just did your puzzle Kathy, but I must warn others that the answers are not necessarily synomyms of the clue, which is what I first assumed. I know, I know. I mustn't assume anything!!!

A warm, for this time of year, morning here. 55° F. (13° C.) The sky is overcast and rain is predicted. Breezy too.

I've just been reading about the blizzards in the Midwest! Holy cow! Be safe! Just so I won't tick anyone off, I won't tell you that it's going to be in the 90's here today ... and we're going to the beach!

Sue, thanks for lunch yesterday and it was wonderful meeting you, though it was such a short time.
Man, even enjoyed the visit, even though he thought I was meeting ax murders.
Thing I, loved seeing her picture on your page. BTW people, besides the two gorgeous girls in the picture, I am in there too.

As for our trip, the traveling was great, the girls did wonderfully both going and coming. MIL got a little testy on the way back. I understand she was ready to get back home, but we needed to stop to feed the girls, at least. She was not happy and one girl did not eat, but at least she got out of the car seat for a while and ran around the resturant. Not disturbing anyone.
Met more family people. I have heard about these people but never met. Mostly exchange of Christmas cards. Meeting them in person, I found out so much. Many family secrets. One shocker is that Man's cousin is a chef that was trained in Australia. He only does that sort of thing as a weekend hobby, in his Cape Cod getaway. How nice.
The funeral was nice, though I felt like we were on display for all the rituals. The graveside was nice. Why is playing Tapps and the guns going off such a tear jerker. Though it does make your heart fill will pride, for what that man did for our country. It was spectacular all those men in their uniforms. Thing II fell asleep, so I stood by the car, which had the men with guns in front of us. I thought when the first round was shot, that Thing II would wake up screaming, but she slept all was through.
We received so many compliments on how well behaved the girls were being. I just thought they were normal, until I heard the horror stories of the 5 year old and two 3 year olds that are normally there, but the family got child care for them, so I did not actually meet them, just heard about them. If the stories are like they were told, yes, I do have prefect children. I did not understand, at first why, these people kept the children away, at such an important event in life, but it seems they have some very wild children there. Onto another topic.

Sue, my deepest apologies. I said people were driving crazy there, it was not them. It was Man. Guess, I did not realize it on the ride to OK, but the ride home...gosh, I need to find a quack that will give me an endless supply of valium, so I can survive my life. Or Man's driving.

Now, to sing the praises of the buddy system.
Thanks to Jill, I was able to call her, and she was able to relay a message to Sue, in order for me to have my first meet and greet with Sudokuville person. It was great.
I highly recommend getting a phone buddy, for situations like I was in this weekend.

Welcome, Captainb J. I think I'd like to try one day sitting around watching it snow - doesn't happen here, but I think I'd like the experience just once - particularly the way you do it - sitting keeping warm, maybe sipping something interesting?

Well Jerry, I've had my history lesson about Kentucky for the day. I had never heard of Mammoth Cave! It appears there are a whole pile of Mammoth Caves in Aus too!

Amazing weather around here: 2 feet of snow in the last 2 days & 4 feet of snow in the last week in the mountains; BUT it will be 60 degrees F in the city tomorrow. And I'm hobbling around on a broken little toe...

Good morning all!
Karen - glad all went well on your trip and I loved the photos Sue took, those things are adorable, and obviously well-behaved. BTW, I think a lot of our husbands/families think we will be meeting up with an axe murderer on our first Sudoku meeting!

Sorry about your toe, Jim. Sounds like great ski conditions in CO. Sure wish my daughter had planned to go there instead of MI. Just saw a post from her on Facebook. They are still sitting at the Orlando airport!!! Their 9:45 AM flight to Minneapolis got canceled & they are waiting for a 6 PM flight to Detroit. Could anyone in MI please give me a weather report. Isn't there bad weather in Detroit, too?

Captain J - welcome - nice to see you posting.
BJay - have fun back at work.
I've heard of Mammoth Caves but only because Heidi has mentioned them - they sound huge, but if I ever get to KY it will be to meet Heidi mainly, no way would I ever go into caves!!

CynB - you are so right about husbands/families worrying about Sudoku meet-ups. My husband was so worried about my first meeting with Ed from Lithia & Suzanne from Seattle that he insisted on going with me. Now that I've met with a dozen or more other Sudokuists & have not been murdered, I think he's more accepting of our desire to want to meet each other in person. However, my daughters & lots of my non-Sudoku friends think it's weird to want to get together with "strangers". They just don't understand that we are NOT strangers.

Kathy - it seems a problem we all have with our husbands and families. My Hubby has accompanied me to some of the meetings and my daughter has also. I think they came to realise that it is like you said - we are NOT strangers!!
They would never read these pages even though they could, but since joining FB, they often see interaction between us all and now realise that we are definately friends, even those we've never met and unfortunately may never meet!

My family and friends think it's strange that I feel so close to people I've never met. One of my friends has exchanged funny comments with Gail on my FB page. He said she seemed so nice and asked where she lived, how I knew her, etc. I told him I'd never actually "met" her and she lived in Australia! LOL I tried to explain the Sudoku site, as I'm sure many of you have, but I think it's a case of "you had to be there" (or here, as the case may be)
