We had never heard of Mammoth caves either but when we picked up the camper there was a brochure in it and we saw where it was then Heidi mentioned it. We went there and it was awesome. Have seen plenty of wet caves but never a dry one. Don't be afraid of them CynB they are awesome.

Well, don't I feel loved. Your families joined you when meeting our friends from Sudoku, to keep you safe from ax murders. My family left me in the hotel lobby and joined us later.
Just to reasure future meeters, Sue and her family are not ax murders, they took wonderful care of me.
I am sure to the disappointment of my husband and MIL.

Kathy, I know what you mean, this year would have been a lot harder without my sudoku friends... and I am happy or sad for them as if they lived next door. Karen my hubby came with me though he thought I was insane! My kids came too, I think they wonder why I am allowed to have online friends that I have never met and they have the rule that their friends have to be people they have actually met in person...

Hello to all, My internet connection is very slow today. Third time I have tried to post and lost the connection. I certainly enjoyed Jerry's post about Ol'Kentuck and the neighbors to the south. I have to disagree with number 17. The 4 inches of snow would shut this county down for a week. They just don't have the road equipment to deal with any large amount of snow. Right now we have 2 inches on the ground and I can tell you right now the schools will be closed. It really isn't safe for the school buses to be out on the roads in the very rural areas.

Oh, Suzy. You have brought up a future problem for me.
How do you trust that we are not some of bad insane people, but turn to your children and say you need to be careful of people on line?

Kathy Maryland,
I have the same experience as you with puzzlement of friends about my adherence to Sudokuland - a place where I have never been and whose people I have never met in person.

It is a great, truly-free country, and we need a national flag.

Sorry, GmaJackie,
I did not recognise that you possible use of tinned beet was humour.
You know 'it works the other way' too.
e.g. I cannot buy potato flour in the supers here, yet UK produces many potatoes. I need to go to a Chinese shop to buy potato flour !

Rayray - weren't there stirrings a few years ago about a Sudokuland flag?? It seem to me that Eve from Oregon was amongst those with designs. Does anyone else remember or have I just got 'old peoples disease'?

Was it a flag, Cyn, or a T-shirt design that we could all purchase?

Yeah, we could all wear matching shirts ... and it wouldn't be just our families and friends that would think we're crazy ... the whole World could think that!

Hi Rayray, I alway enjoy going to England and Australia for many reasons. The Grandchildren, of course. I really enjoy the different foods I have eaten in both countries. I can not buy Greek Yogurt here in TN. Everything here has way too much salt and way too much sugar. i cook very differently now that I have been to England and Europe and Australia.

Don't you have a Costco store nearby, Jackie? They sell the BEST Greek yogurt!

No Costco here. There are national chains in the city.. 40 miles, that would be each way. Each week I get a little magizine at the local Piggly Wiggly. It is called Happiness. Nice little perk.

CynB,
Yes I think there was a move to design a flag now you mention it.
Gail; Jane; Eve?
I wonder if a design was decided upon?
Or - there again - was it a T-Shirt - or both?

You know I had no qualms about meeting Sue yesterday. Someone said it earlier, you have to be here to understand. Trying to explain that to my husband and MIL was difficult. Though on the ride home, both said they enjoyed meeting my friend. I am certain, my MIL had wished for a different outcome, by the time we got home.

It has become part of our travels to seek out Sudokuites wherever we go. It has been a joy every time. Lynne thinks of me as kind of shy and not outgoing, and that's the way I am with people I've never met. Thing is, I've met all of you, here. I'm not shy with people after I get to know them. This site has been so much fun for me. Thank you Gath, many times over.

Oh, Keith, I am the same way. Ask Sue how quiet we were and all the topics we did not talk about. It was the fastest 2 1/2 hours and we were still talking as we were walking away. As we were driving away, I was going through my head of all the things I still wanted to chat about and have had to use great self control in not calling her to chat some more. The only thing that has saved Sue, is that my Things really hate it when I get on the phone and pick that time to remember they have a Mommy. Now it is too late to call anyone.

GmaJackie, I have not recieved anything. Unless you sent it to my aol account, in which case I cannot read it, because I cannot get to my old account.
Which really sucks, because using my pages PMs only allows me 3000 characters. Do I seem like the type to say what I want to say in 3000 characters or less?

It is late and way past my bedtime. Let us trust that the Hall Monitor can keep the ax murders off our little bit of cyber space and we can continue to enjoy our ramblings on line and our meetings with one another without fear.

GmaJackie, I finally went to my page, instead of looking at my inbox and there you were. I responded, but I think you are gone now.
