Broni and Cyn, I read the bullying article, and I'm all angry again! Ally's unofficial school policy was 'get resilient and stop bothering me, you probably deserved it'. She was indirectly bullied via the internet when a girl in her class posted the names of her best buddies and her worst enemy on her page. Guess who her worst enemy was? Cried her heart out. Nothing the school can do about that so I called her parents. I actually told them she could leave it there, so long as she changed it so that it wasn't Ally's full name. It disappeared, and then Ally blocked access to her page. Ebob monitored it for a while to make sure it stayed off.

I cannot understand the mentality of anyone who allows bullying in a school, even by deciding to ignore it. Complete morons who have no business being in charge of children.

Heidi, the tail end of that storm front you had is now going through Alabama, Thin short lived little weather system, rain about 15 minutes. It is not extending as far south as us, stopping about 45 miles away in Birmingham. Did I see snow in your forecast for tomorrow?

HI Julie, good to see you tonight.

Much more I wanted to comment on, but I am just too sleepy to remember. Good night everyone, time for me to get in bed. I will check with you again on the morrow. Hugs to all.

I just got an email letting me know that I'm probably getting 2 more rescue Collies. A mother and daughter.. 15 and 14 years old. The daughter isn't purebred, but they can't be separated. They tried that and the daughter ran away from her new home.

We had sleet/rain/snow this afternoon and evening. I think it's supposed to end by morning. Ah, yes, isn't spring grand!

Wishing speedy recoveries for Bean, Broni, Nola's daughter and grandies, Ian, and anyone else I have forgotten!

Heidi, I agree about the bullying and the idiocy of expecting the one being bullied to get tough and ignore it. Is it any wonder the world is the way it is?

CRAFT's disease has struck with a vengeance. I'm sending positive vibes for everyone! Good Night, All!

Everybody has got wonderful Easter avatars - I love 'em all.
Suzy - I will be looking at 4 Corners but I am dreading that it will bring back all the anger I feel for what has happened to H&E and your girls (and countless others).
Heidi - another 2 dogs, good on you. How could they try to seperate dogs who have lived together for that long!
My little visitor has gone home now - I need a nanna nap! Try taking a 7yo grocery shopping and letting her push the trolley!

Just a quick pop in to let you know Mum's furniture got here this morning, all in one piece...well each piece was it's own piece...but you get what I mean!
We have set up the end room with her bedroom suite, now to be known as Nana's room (the room she stayed in when she was here for the last time), and the display cabinet is in our loungeroom. All I have to do now is display Mum's paperweight collection in there until my sibs can come to collect their keepsakes. My father wants all the grandies to have one each too.
Oh, and when I mentioned to hubby about having to do something about the curtains in Nana's room, he said because everything else looks good, we'll have to get new ones!!! No really, a man said that!.

Evening all!
Gail, great news about the furniture...
Cyn, I'm not going to watch it as I will get angry at the teachers who think they should toughen up, at the counsellors who think there are no problems, at the kids who think they have a right to be rotten, at the parents who believe it isn't their kid...

I showed Ally's singing teacher a part of the video of her singing at Carols with the bullies standing right in front of her. She hadn't realised how close they were and was very proud of Ally.

Finally got my Easter avatars, so trying them out. Ian stayed home from school today. The original plan was to have him go, but he is still in pain and has difficulty walking. He tried walking down the driveway last night and didn't do well. I couldn't see him trying to navigate through hallways filled with rambunctious boys. He'll have to go tomorrow though to take some tests. The marking period is ending and school ends on Wednesday for Easter vacation.

Sleep tight MizT.
Suzy, tonight's Four Corners should be compulsory viewing for all teachers. It was very sad but there were some good messages.
I went to the Doc. today as the hives were becoming unbearable. As well as the antihistamines I have a cortisone script. I am just so much better tonight.
We have been putting up the cupboards I got for the laundry. I should have paid extra and had them installed. Forget we are both getting older. Lifting and holding up heavy cupboards is much harder than it used to be.

It's not 100 % definite on the 2 old timers. I don't have them yet. At their ages, they could pass away before they arrive here. They haven't arrived in the hands of Collie Rescue yet, then they need to be Vetted before they come here. If there are any major health issues (like Heartworm), they'll have to be treated first, as well.

Stella I love your Easter avatars.

June I agree with your comments about 4 Corners. Unless you have been directly caught up in that sort of horror it is hard to comprehend or even believe that kids can be so cruel. Regrettably I been in contact with this sort of appalling behavior in the past and know of too many teens for whom it all got too much.

It's not always kids, either. I have vivid memories of being picked up and thrown against a wall by a teacher when I was Ally's age.

Very true Heidi...I still think of, and refer to, young people of Ally's age as 'kids'... the age group most under discussion on this show were teenagers like Ally. A large part of the show was devoted to the events leading to a 17yo lad jumping off a local bridge...which regrettably is one of the easiest and most commonly used places to suicide here in Melbourne.

I was talking about it not always being kids doing the bullying. There are plenty of people in positions of authority over kids who bully and abuse them, too. That's one reason why a lot of kids being bullied feel that they can't trust adults to confide in them about the problem.

I'm obviously meant to be in bed...too tired to comprehend that DUH!! Seriously tho I was probably too caught up thinking about the the individuals and there terrible stories of bullying at the hands of their peers. I could identify very strongly with that. Interesting thing when adults bully ... there is more action that can be taken against the perpetrator...if the kid isn't too intimidated and traumatised to speak to the appropriate authorities. Back when we were kids tho that wasn't the case.
