You wouldn't believe all the dogs I've met or heard of named Heidi. Very few people, tho'. That must be why I'm such a dog lover.

I knew a few Heidi's when I was in school. I also worked with a "Haydee" pronounced Heidi.

Congratulations on the arrival of your baby turkeys. I guess I shouldn't tell them what I am cooking tomorrow, should I?

It wouldn't hurt. They're all destined for the oven anyways.

Heidi, seems you are always getting some type of bird when it is cold or snowing. Remember the finches was it??
Hope the turkeys arrive safe and warm. They do not need to go into the deep freeze as infants, lets wait till right before the oven part.

I actually don't try to have birds arrive in cold weather. These were all ordered in warm weather. This is just bad luck. But it's supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow.

The family have left on their way North to the other Grandparents. Got here too last and left too early to feed all the wild birds. It was not Hello Grandma, it was where is the meat for the kookaburras? It was great to see them. Now to change the beds and start getting ready for Friday. I pulled the BBQ to bits and have to find out if it still works or out tomorrow to buy a new one!

June, should we cheer for the old BBQ to work? Or would you rather a new one?
Tami, you are making me hungry for turkey. I have not had one to cook since before Christmas. Usually we have one or 2 in the freezer, but this year I have not had freezer room to buy them when the store had them for sale. My store does not keep turkeys year round.

Morning all!
Now I have CRAFT and will have to go back to remember what I was going to say...
June, if it doesn't work we could always build a camp fire - the fine isn't too huge is it? hehe
Tami, have a wonderful passover dinner, just as I typed that a word tried to appear, another name for it, or just the Friday night dinner..... nope, it's gone. Sigh. I need my brain back! Has anyone seen it lying around?

A great picture! Even if they did artificially colour the xrays blue. And even if it happened 17,000 years ago...

SUZY, I get a chuckle every time I see an Ausie headline about "bikie gangs". Here they are called Biker gangs and I think they would consider the term bikie as being a sissy, girly kind of name. Good on NSW doe taking the drug dealers out of circulation, way to go, no matter what they call them.

SUZY, I shall miss coloring eggs this year. It has been ages since I did that, and I loved doing it. My favorite was a dye that floated on top of the water, it was oily. You dropped on at least 2 colors, swirled gently, and put the eggs through it, swirley colors, very pretty.
We also used wax to keep dye from an area, putting on names, or happy Easter or some message. We made 3 color eggs, dipping an egg in a primary color just past half way, let dry. then turn, and dip just past half way in another primary color, creating a secondary color strips around the 'equator' of the egg. OH, we painted faces on eggs, and added either painted or yarn hair, for egg people.
We painted on flowers or designs, on eggs colored solid. Spatter painted speckles on solid colored eggs. I cannot remember all I did to an egg for waster baskets. I would often blow out contents of eggs for a week or so before easter, and would paint and decorate these empty eggs for arrangements. OH, we even saved breakfast broken eggs shells, dyed them, and put a fluffy chick in the half shell.
I did on occasion have my children tell me I was having too much fun with THEIR activity hehehe.

Good morning lovely Sudoku people.
Believe me MizT - our aussie 'bikies' aint sissies!
Heidi - glad the ice-storm came to nothing.
June - hope you get that BBQ put together properly - I'd lend you ours - 6 burner, side wok but a bit too far to get to Epping in time!
Hi Tami & Suzy.

OK... I just added a photo of an Easter egg I painted a couple of years back. It has 4 identical roosters going around it.

My mom used to let me make easter eggs when I was a kid so I wouldn't feel left out. I got my first easter basket at 17. My friend Barbara and I were taking her younger brother and sister to the beach. I was then going to stay for easter dinner. Her mom made me an easter basket.

Not here...
MizT, here a 'biker' is a serious rider, not usually in any gang but has a good bike and loves to ride. I agree with you about bikie, though a lot of what they do is juvenile so maybe the title fits??
I love the sound of your eggs! Much more elaborate than our attempts!! And I don't think we'll be doing anything fancy this year either as we're out tonight, and tomorrow night we'll have to get organised for our trip to Sydney... In my opinion you are never too old to colour eggs - or hunt for them!
