JUDY....... What's your favorite Red Dwarf episode??? The first I ever saw was "Marooned", and nearly died laughing, but my favorites are "Blue" (with the Rimmer Munchkin song) and "Pete".

everyone.
The turkeys DIDN'T arrive this morning, and I'm really worried. I wasn't given a tracking number, either, so I can't locate them.

When we moved into this house we had an apple, a pear, a cherry and a plum tree. The apple tree died a couple of years back, the cherry tree was so big it was scraping against one of the bedroom windows and the only time we had any fruit from it there was half a dozen cherries and they were so sour we decided we could get rid of the tree. The plum and pear trees are still in the garden but don't yield very much or if they do the birds get to them first

Morning Stella, How will you manage tomorrow? will you take Ian with you? Leave him home alone? I hope you get all the kiddies home and enjoy your Easter weekend.

I would like to have fruit trees here. what i would like to have is blueberries, a very late blooming variety, or a small variety I can protect from frost. I found some that would go into containers or would do nicely for shrubs, edible landscaping.

Gail, now I for sure want to come to your BBQ, if I get to ride Puffing Billy to get there! Sounds like so very fun for everyone, all of you have a great day!

Judy, hope you can get the sucky thing tamed and content, and no longer flashing you.

Brenda, what variety blueberry will you get? I think blueberry would give you a good return for your investment, considering the price of a tiny little bit of them.

GAIL, thanks for letting us know about BEAN's connection problem.

SUZY, sorry your haircut experience was less than good. One thing about a hair cut, by next month it will need doing again, and you can hope for a better experience then. You did not mention outcome, are you not satisfied with how it looks?

AOL news picked up the doggie story with photos.

There was more to comment on from earlier pages, but CRAFT got em. I will see you all later. I need to put plants back outside, temps going for spring today!

SURPRISE surprise, there was another half page by time i wrote my book! That is happening sometime here, refresh does not get all the posts, takes posting to see the last ones.

Good Luck Tami, on the turkey. I make turkey all the time, but I use the browning bag method, nothing to it using that.

Broni, enjoy your sail on the boat. and good luck on the advertisements for bookkeeping.

OH HEIDI, hope the turkeys turn up in good shape. I am sure you will be doing all possible to track them down.

Brenda, our schools do not have spring break at Easter, it is usually earlier. I think now, if they have not used all their snow days, they get Good Friday off. If they have used them , it is a school day.

Rolanda, have a good trip, hope you have wonderful weather.

HI VICI, Bye Vici, enjoy your hike today.

Mizt I have bought two varieties of Blueberry 'Goldtraube' and 'Northland' one is a self pollenator but the other is recommended to have another variety for pollenation. I didn't find another gooseberry today but will have a look elsewhere.

I have been reading news, and in the last 24 hours, there has been 3 more multiple shootings in the USA. One at a Korean retreat in California, one dead, 4 injured. Another shooting in Alabama leave the shooter and 4 others dead. In North Carolina, one sheriff deputy called to the scene of a shooting, and one shooter and his girlfriend dead.

WHAT is happening to people? This is so very upsetting.

OH YES, Brenda, I forgot the cross pollination requirement of some blueberries. I hope they do well for you. How long till you might expect blueberries, a couple years?

I love blueberry muffins, and pancakes, and blueberries on cereal, yummy.

Brenda - your talk about fruit trees is getting me excited about the ones I planted last year. 2 peaches (one white peach, one freestone style) and 2 cherriers (one Royal Ann white and one bing variety).
They are small, but the peach trees have blossoms and I'm hoping for some fruit this year.

yes can't expect anything for a couple of years, but the foliage should be pretty in the autumn
I feel the same about people over here, why can't they all just live in peace with everyone.
Over the last 3 weeks we have had a leg found near one town, an arm somewhere else (within 20 miles of my home) and a head in the next county. Fortunately it is the same person which is bad enough but if it had been more than one person it would have been horrific.

Brenda, thank you for telling my mom to relax. She took the holiday dinners from her mom but is having a hard time giving them to me. I enjoy cooking for the holiday. It makes me feel closer to my ancestors. I know that they cooked the same type of meal for their families that I am preparing for mine. I make sure that there is at least one traditional dish at each holiday. Usually it is the chicken soup.

Tami, my mother admitted that when I was quite young, she used to leave it to me to make the treats for special occasions. It all started one Christmas eve when my parents had to take my grandmother to a family (not close family) funeral. Mum left me to make all the treats for Xmas. I shot myself in the foot by making a good job of it and it became my job after that. I must have been about 14 at the time.

I don't know how often I will be able to get on the forum next week, I'll be at my aunt's house and she uses her computer for condo business. I will try to be a good e-mail pal...will be easier when I go home.

My Mom had trouble giving up doing at least part of the holiday meals. My sister and I would go to her house for a day of gift wrapping and cookie making, That tradition started one year when Mom was sick with a bug before Christmas and had not got anything done. We helped out and it became an instant tradition! We did have a lovely time, although it was tiring for us all trying to do what Mom once did over many days, all in one day. I did all the giftwrap (could you have guessed that?)

Last year was the first time I ever went to a holiday meal without making a number of dishes. I had been sick, my sister had been sick, we almost canceled thanksgiving. Her daughter and DIL said they would do everything, we even had it at DIL's house, and it was wonderful!

Even the year I was in wheel chair from a broken foot, Al and I managed to do some of the easier dishes to contribute. It is hard to shift from the maker of a holiday to just a participant, but Bobbi, you should enjoy! I could get to like being the invited guest instead of co-hostess at holidays hehehe.

As the majority of our children still live at home we are always the hosts of the holiday celebrations, but the kids all help out making it and cleaning up after the meal. May be a few years before I get to hand over to them completely.

There is just me and IH here. When I make a serious effort for holiday meals, he has a history of disappearing for several hours just 5 minutes before I serve. I've lost count of the holiday meals I've eaten alone.
