WARNING, Long narrative of my day yesterday:

Al and I did the big grocery shop yesterday. boy do we know how to spend a day shopping. First of all, we had a bit of car trouble. We found a LOT of traffic yesterday and we were not on the freeway, it was lunchtime, but more like rush hour traffic. then there was a real slow down, as sitting without moving. Later discovered it was a traffic accident with injuries. Police had one lane of our direction blocked. While creeping along, I thought I smelled the car getting hot, but only a tiny whiff, and Al already irritable enough with the traffic. I could see the gauge was OK so I did not mention it. Few minutes later, there was a puff of white from under the hood, tiny puff, and that smell again. He decided we needed to pull over for him to check, but took a while to get to a garage, gas station area to pull over. Nothing seemed amiss, so on we went.

Later, flashing oil light, pulled over once again. Added oil, and this time he saw a tiny leak in radiator. THAT is where the puff and the odor came from. Mission, find an auto parts store and something to repair radiator, but first, need to add water. NO water at the water/air service points, "due to freezing temps, water has been removed till spring, sorry for the inconvenience". AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! Attendant did say there was a water faucet they used for washing the drive located over by the end of the car wash, we could get water there. Luckily, we had a container. So he adds water, we are on our way. Tricia is sitting very quietly, so not to increase the level of irritability in one hubby. We continue on, and find the auto parts store, he finds something for a temporary patch, has the hood of the auto up in the parking lot tending it. Mission accomplished, we are off again.

Get to the grocery, he checks under hood, things looking OK, whew! Having spent an extra hour or more on car care, we hurry though the shopping. Standing in line, I am suddenly not well, dizzy, feeling faint. Look at watch, it is 3 PM, and I have not eaten since breakfast! Al gets a bag of M and M's, shakes out four of them and said EAT! Not only does he repair autos, he can fix low blood sugar too! The checker looks at me strange when I hand him an open bag of M &Ms to ring up and return to me hehehe. Load up all the groceries, cold things into ice chests, and off to find lunch.

I promise you, that was the best fast food sandwich I have ever eaten! Add a banana from the grocery stash, and I am feeling fit again. On to Wal mart, to pick up a week's supply of colas for the man who has to have colas, find a few other things on the way ( colas in far back of store, we walked right by this stuff, just as they stores plan).

Store #3, that had 3 items we could not get at Aldis, and at last we can go home! Or so I thought. ONE more stop, Al needed some Canadian Blended. After a day like that I did not object.

We got home and I had menta

Seems I did not measure the space available here for posting hehehe. I told you it was a long narrative.

We got home and I had mentally measured available space in freezer pretty accurately. We filled it up with no room to spare hehehe.

OK, now after a day like that, and bringing in the groceries, and getting his own dinner from leftovers, Al moves the spare computer to my desk for me, cause he knows I will be up before he is and wanting to chat with my friends. PLUS, I spoke with him about midnight, and he has my broken computer working again!
I think I will keep him!

MizT.... that was one of a day! It could have been worse, though. I still have vivid memories of a van I was driving bursting into flames. That thing kept trying to kill me.

I really enjoyed my chat on Skype last night, though I was unkempt and half asleep. OK, more than half asleep. Now I regret not talking to my beloved Ian, and others.
Suzy.... I didn't realize that Ally is shy. I would have liked to ask her about her arm. Is it getting stronger?

Heidi, that is what I kept telling myself as the car problems were unfolding, it could have been a lot worse! Bursting into flames never occurred to me, but I was particularly thinking of that woman I saw paramedics working on, in the median of the highway. It could have been us that was hit.

Even though I didn't get to talk to everyone at the BBQ I did get a call from June and Suzy this afternoon (my time) It was lovely to put a face to Suzy from Oz, to be honest she isn't far from what I imagined her to be. June of course I knew from pevious conversation and from photos.

Heidi, that was the baby thunderstorm going through your area. Big Brother is chasing him.

I just checked your weather after seeing the regional map, nasty storms between me and you. so far, they are forecast to stay north of us, no tornado watch for us yet, stops about 3 counties north of us. I hope our bad weather does not come after dark, you all know by now, I hate severe weather and dark combination.

Stay Safe Heidi, you are under tornado watch for about 3 or 4 more hours today.

Boy it is windy here, Kitties are inside where it is safe. Scooter jumped up on desk, then started for the computer tower, and loooked at it, turning her head, walking around it. I laughed at her and told her daddy had swapped computers, took away her favorite perch. she got down, jumped up on the printer stand, climbed on top of printer where she might get a look at the top of the temporary computer tower. she was not a happy kitty. she is now sleeping on top of the printer, as close as she can get to Mom today. silly kitty.

Heidi, I welcome hail when there are possible tornadoes around. hail is found to the north of a rotating cloud, means any tornado would be south of you.

Hope your new plants can withstand the hail.

Hi everyone. It was nice to see pix from June's bbq. Thanks Suzy.
I had a restful day watching Greg chainsaw the trees into smaller bits to put into the trailer. Then we remembered that the tip would be closed being good Friday.Another attempt will be made today as only half fitted in.
Tonight,we are having tea at Renaes as they are all feeling much better.
Am looking forward to another rest as my knee has been so painful the last week. This time I have a specialist referral for a Brizzy Dr who may help me.
Yes,how did your new plants survive Heidi.
Tricia,that was a shopping ordeal.

I disagree, MizT. I've found that hail can precede a tornado. I was out in the barn one afternoon, and the wind suddenly picked up, hail started pelting down, than it sounded like an express train was running over the top of me. Of course, I hit the ground in a fetal position. Afterwards, neighbors told me that they saw a tornado go right over the barn I was in.

Back from the Dentist. I got to drive through bumper to bumper traffic, in pouring rain, during a severe Thunderstorm warning AND a Tornado Watch. Both ways. It's still thundering and coming down cats and dogs.

Suzy, most of my trips to grocery are most uneventful. This was a rare exception, and looking back, more humorous than not.

All the groceries are put away. I took my time today with the canned veg and fruits, so I could rotate my stock. I keep a large amount of these items, because we eat6 and 7 fruits and veg a day. Does not take long to go through the fresh ones, then it is canned till our next trip to local grocery. So I like to every few months rotate my cans, putting the just purchased ones to the back. This is one thing Al does not help with. He puts away other things and I put away the canned goods.

Some little thunder showers going through here. One lasted maybe 5 minutes, but did cool down the temps for a bit. Another is in the area, I hear the thunder. NOTHING like the storms that have hit north and west of us, in Alabama, or the big tornadoes in Tennessee.

I am hoping to hear from a cyber quilting buddy who is just outside Oklahoma City, on the same side of the fires going through there. Fireballs ahead of wind, lighting one house and leaving another next door. The name of her town has not come up, hope that means they are safe. So many were not safe yesterday and today in those fires.

OK, time to go and fling food. I just got all the kitchen back in order and needed a break. Noone to talk to, so I talked to everyone hehehe.

I just realized, I would not be good at twitter :)

No. I haven't heard when I'm getting the Mother/ Daughter pair. In Lady's case, her handicapped owner was just placed permanently in a nursing home. She had 2 collies... 11 year old Lady and a 15 year old with serious health issues. The 15 year old is under Vet care right now. This just happened yesterday. For some inexplicable reason, Collie Rescue is being swamped with Collies right now. I think 7 in the last 3 days. Fortunately, there are other foster homes.

Heidi, you have a heart bigger than the United States. If I was a collie, I would love to be at your house. I would know I was getting a good home. I enjoyed seeing Lucky. I don't know if you heard my mom but she thought Lucky was cute, too. My mom is not an animal person so that is a huge compiment.
