I am having a new central AC installed tomorrow. Mine died and it is impossible to live in south Florida without AC. It was delivered today, it is sitting in the middle of my living room and will be installed in the morning. We have been without air all week. Luckily we had a cool spell and was able to keep the windows open. Has been in the 60's most nights. Tonight could be warm.

Tricia, that was quite an eventful shopping trip. Glad the car is OK.
I kept watching for you light to come so we could call you. Now I know why. Suzy and her family have just left. We all got on so well. Suzy gave me a Sudoku Easter Egg. Egg, mug and puzzle book. I will be able to take the book to Tassie.
Fun bowls afternoon. Fancy Easter bonnet but I will be a bunny!!!

June, yes, my computer picked the wrong time to act up. I really did want to see and chat with everyone. Thanks so much for looking for me, appreciate that.

My stand in computer does not have the software to recognize the web cam. I hope to have my puter back soon, Al is running a bunch of tests on it while he has it. He also, had a rush repair job on a computer for a school girl, needing to get online to do homework tonight. I am happy, I can read the board, play the puzzles, get my e-mail in the comfort of my chair and desk, I will not complain.

Miz T, I've just discovered an Aldi store five minutes from me and went in after reading your comments...I was very pleased with the experience. Love the frozen Egg Rolls too....nice addition to my quick lunch treats. Thanks for your stories about it, but you could have warned us that one needed to supply their own shopping bags. I ended up carting my purchases in my arms the first time, but I am a quick learner....good thing too. Lol.

I'm back with Lady, and I'm already having problems. She looks so much like Melony (another elderly rescue) that I'm going to have difficulty telling them apart. They could be clones.

Hello lovely Sudoku people.
MizT - I'm soooo sorry that I didn't think to mention your computer woes to June when I was on Skype.
Heidi - glad you'll get to see Red Dwarf.

I'm off to do some grocery shopping soon, only driving about 8kms (5 miles) so I hope my trip is less eventful than MizT's.
Are your Aldi stores in US cheaper than other grocery stores like ours are? They don't have the range of products but are about one third cheaper. I love Aldi. And their prices are the same Australia-wide.

Easter Bunny's already been here at my place ready for the influx of grandies looking for eggs in the morning. I have only given them 1 small chocolate bunny and 2 egg-sized choc eggs (plus some other small non-edible treats). They get sugar overload at Easter - I don't want to contribute too much.
Hope the Easter bunny brings you all a big chocolate bunny, like this -

I think it will be an early night for me. Had a good fun day at bowls. Won a bottle of wine for a win at bowls and in the raffle a meat tray of Lamb Chops and sausages. Just what we had yesterday at the BBQ (plus chicken wings and Thai fish cakes)
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone has made.
If I remember you had Melony in the room with you last night Heidi?

CYN, no problem about not giving June a message about my puter, but sweet of you to think of it. It might have kept June from looking for me.

Yes, Cyn, prices at Aldis are much cheaper. that is why I travel about 45 miles to get to one periodically. Even with the extra gasoline, we save a lot of money. I find the biggest savings are milk, Bread, frozen basic vegetables, canned vegetables and fruits, and paper products. We buy a LOT when we go, and do not go frequently. there are many items they do not carry that we need, but I get those locally or at Walmart. Luckily I have good storage space for groceries.

Sorry Mamacita, I forgot to mention Aldis does not supply bags. I did not know first time either, and and a nice lady gave us her extras hehehe. They will sell you bags at my store.

We usually do not use bags now, but have huge rubbermaid tubs in the van, and ice chests for the cold items. At home, the tubs and ice chests go into the garden cart, and up the ramp to the kitchen door, easy peasy.

June, great photo of the group. Suzy, I love your haircut! where were your girls during the photograph? I was looking for photos of all the food, too, gee, I know someone took one!

Morning Heidi, how did Lady do overnight? Is she being accepted by the other dogs? Did you find a way to tell her apart?

Now I know you feed the dogs in crates. I know a crate big enough for a collie takes up a lot of room. You have how many dogs now, 17 or so? Just where do you have enough room for 17 crates?? The logistics of this is hard to grasp. I would have trouble getting one big crate in my house!

I am off to the kitchen to fling food, making as much of our Easter dinner as I can today. Roast tenderloin of pork, a chocolate cake, and baking the sweet potatoes today. Once the pork roast is cooked, I imagine Al will want it for dinner tonight hehe. It is large enough, we can sample tonight.

The only place in my house with enough room for all those crates is the garage. So that's where they are fed. And I can tell Melony and Lady apart after a few seconds study now. Tho' Lady DID have an accident in the house last night. She doesn't feel at home here yet.

After being fed a wonderful breakfast and Ebob getting some baseball tips, we headed into the city - Ken gave parking recommendations which worked out really well! We saw the Opera House (again - but Ally couldn't remember the last trip), walked through the QVB, had Krispy Kreme doughnuts - yum!, and went to the Aquarium. I cringed when I saw how much it was going to cost, but it is 3 years since we promised we'd take Ally so we pulled out the plastic ... I'm actually glad we waited because there were a couple of new things that were very cool - tunnels that you walk through and watch the sharks, stingrays, dugongs and other smaller fish swim over the top of you. Amazing!

SUZY, sounds like you had a very nice weekend! Happy all enjoyed it.
BRENDA, sorry about your wet weekend. Our weather has turned cloudy and cool today. We had heat again.
HEIDI, garage sounds like a good place for all the crates. Hope Lady does better tonight. I thought you might have left her crated her first night.
JUNE, too bad you could not have won the meat tray before your BBQ. Nice anytime though.
STELLA, good to see you. Did Ian get into trouble home alone while you went for the girls? Are all the children home for the weekend? Do you have to return them all on Sunday?

The roast is cooked. It smells and tasted yummy. Hubby was rudely awakened by the smoke detector! I sear the meat before cooking it, and the particulate matter off the searing meat set off alarm. He turned over and went back to sleep!

Next is the cake and sweet potatoes. I waited till hubby got up for the day to do the cake. There is no way I have found to quietly run an electric mixer hehe. Since I wanted to cook potatoes at same time as cake, they both got put on hold.

Lady has been a house dog all her life. She would have been horribly stressed to be locked in a crate her first night here. It's stressful enough going to a new home, with loads of strange dogs. I didn't want to make it worse. She's a smart girl, and will learn to use the dog door in the next day or two. She's already studying it.

I have read that crating a dog is not stressful for them, it is akin to their ancestors "dens" and they still have instincts for hiding in a confined place if frightened or unwell. It makes them feel safe. Did not know it could cause stress in a dog not accustomed to it. Live and learn.

I have seen dogs go to their crates to avoid a stressful situation, like children who would not leave them alone, or strange noise, or thunder storms. The Belgian Malinois I once had would go to her crate just for a nap.

My kitties even want to hide in bad weather, they get under a chair or table. It gives the kitties a roof close over their head, and a wall to their back, feels safe.

Heidi, better you than me butchering a chook! I helped my grandmother on many occasions, not fun. Dipping it into boiling water to help remove the feathers was a stinky process! Grandmother could grab up a chook and wring it's neck before you knew what had happened!
