Gail, Broni nice to see you back from your breaks.
Hope you both had a good time. If you have an exhausted Basset then I assume you must be tired too Broni.

Some news extracts coming up.
April 13, 2009, 6:34 pm

Former Nine Network news director John Sorell has died of a heart attack.

Sorell was the architect of the ratings success of Nine's news during the 1980s and '90s. He was director of news at GTV9 for 30 years and was a dual Walkley Award winner.

The Nine network in Melbourne opened its news on Monday night reporting Sorell's death at The Alfred hospital following a heart attack on Friday.

Olympic champion Cathy Freeman has married Melbourne stockbroker James Murch in a private ceremony on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula.

Under a sea of umbrellas put up to foil the long lenses of paparazzi photographers and TV cameras, the champion sprinter walked down the aisle to wed Mr Murch in front of 120 guests at the Spray Farm winery at Portarlington.
April 12, 2009, 3:33 pm

The couple is believed to have signed an exclusive agreement with a magazine for $100,000 but the fee will be donated to charity, the Nine Network reported on Saturday.

It's the second trip down the aisle for the Sydney 2000 gold medallist in the women's 400m, who has been with Mr Murch for three years.

A musician driving into the winery ahead of the 4.30pm (AEST) ceremony told the Nine Network that the couple had chosen Billy Joel's Just The Way You Are for their wedding dance.

Weddings guests were confronted by a phalanx of security guards at the entrance to the estate

An Irishman bashed on a Sydney street has emerged from an eight-month coma, with his family convinced his awakening was the work of a saint.

David Keohane had been unconscious since he was found lying with serious head injuries on Brook Street, Coogee, in Sydney's east, in the early hours of August 9, 2008.

The 29-year-old, who had been working in Sydney as a flooring contractor, was treated in Prince of Wales Hospital before his family flew him home to Ireland in September.

Mr Keohane awoke from his coma in hospital on St Patrick's Day, and his family and friends say his improvement is due to months of prayer to Blessed Mary MacKillop.

Good morning all! Just a fly by visit today. Decided to bring Brendan back to school and then visit my mom. It's only another 50 miles but I have to go through NYC so it will take at least an hour and a half. I'll leave here around 9am and should get there by 2pm. Hubby took off work to take the girls back to Boston.

Good Mean Sudokuland!

Another day, another thunder storm. yep having them that frequently it seems. Al stayed up till the wee hours monitoring weather, woke me about 1 am, cause a squall line with a lot of high wind was coming through. this line had a history of damage across Mississippi and Western Alabama, so we sat out in the dome for a couple hours. Must say I nodded off frequently, I was sooo sleepy.

More t storms forecast for today, more tornado watches, life goes on. Daytime is much better than nighttime for me, I hate the storms that come thought nights.

Welcome back Broni nd Gail.
Ronalda expected home soon.
Safe trip to Stella. Is Ian home alone again? How is his foot doing?
Nola, know what you mean by the turn umbrellas inside out wind. No damage to us, but I did find the "babies" of my airplane plant lying on the floor of porch. wind blew them off. they are now in water to root and make new plants. I should have brought it in, or at least put it down on the floor of the porch, not up on the bakers rack where wind could get it. Was not thinking clearly at 1 am.

All. Getting ready to storm here, too. I have to sort out some sheep before the rain hits, so having a quick brekkie first.

Heidi, you got the thunder storms we were forecast, they just tracked further north than expected. Just gloomy and humid here, but no rain. Our grass needs mowing again. Hubby cut it high the first time, not sure what might be hiding in the tall grass. that and all the rain, it needs cut again. Maybe tomorrow.

Morning all!
Stella, ONLY 50 miles??? It seems like you should get frequent driver miles. But it will be nice to see your mom.

MizT and Heidi, we haven't had storms this time, just lots of rain. The yard and paddock are a bog. I'm not letting the lawn mowers in because they will damage the yard big time.

Broni and Gail - welcome back!

Nola, you're getting the wind too - yuck!

Viv, I'm glad for Cathy Freeman. The article I read said that the Irishman had brain damage/injuries. I hope he is truly awake and himself again. The article wasn't clear but I wish that for him.

Things are slowly getting put away again.I did stick some stuff in bags and boxes at the end so it will take some time to find things again!!!
It was so much fun seeing everyone. Having Keith in Australia was a great excuse for getting all the Aussies together.
I have now got a new camera. An update version of the one that was taken. Rather expensive but I may as well SKI (spend the kids inheritance).

Heidi, great news catching up with your sister. You may never get close again but it is nice to have that connection instead of the bitterness. I am very different to you. I also have a sister who has caused trouble but I do insist that I make contact several time a year. She is my sister.
To all others, glad Easter was good to you all. Lots of safe travelling and fun. Good memories for you Gail.
Hope the rain and storms do not become a problem for those affected.

Brenda, did you see Britian's Got Talent On Saturday? Al just found a clip of a woman singing, who wowed the judges, she was unbleievable. I am wondering when she will be on again, when they will start the eliminations, would love to see her again.

Here is a link if anyone is interested.

Hi MizT, if it's the same one I saw yesterday - she shocked them didn't she? They were rolling their eyes - until she opened her mouth. I used up a bunch of my internet allowance looking for other talented people on the show. Britains Got Talent seems to attract them.

June, I don't search out my trouble maker sibling out, but we run into each other several times a year (living in the same small town it's going to happen) and I make sure I talk even if he doesn't.

Morning Suzy (Shirley Temple lookalike) and Tricia.

She certainly did shock them !! Saw it on the news last night.

Speaking of sibling.. must ring my younger one, and tell him about Mum's party in August.

Good morning (just) lovely Sudoku people. I've just had to read through several pages, haven't had time to visit my SA friends since Saturday - busy, busy, busy but enjoyable.
Heidi - pleased the visit from your sister went well. My sister and I had several years where although we spoke, we were not close. She admits that she was very judgemental of my divorce from my first husband. Years later, her own marriage disintergrated and her attitude to me changed. We are close now and I am happy to have her living in the next suburb and to see her often. We are complete opposites in most things but the most important thing is - we are sisters!

Suzy & MizT - thanks for the link to Susan Boyle - wasn't she wonderful? And it's always nice to see Simon Cowell have to back down from his pre-conceived opinion of a contestant. The same happened with Paul Potts on his first appearance.

They will get closer when they become adults, Suzy. My sister and I fought like cats and dogs as teenagers - we had to share a bedroom. Then she went nursing and in those days they lived in at the hospital. I missed her so much, I used to bribe my brother (3 years younger) to sleep in her bed just so I could have someone to talk to. He HATED it (but liked the money)!

Does anyone want and dark chocolate Lindt bunnies or eggs? I have a container full of them. My family know what I like!
Now, I have the time between Easter and Christmas to diet. It starts tomorrow, OK? Or maybe after I polish off those eggs. Or maybe next week.
See, this is what I always do!
