Broni - do they have yellow about the eyes?
I always called them Noisy Mynahs but I seem to remember that June said they're the imported ones. The only birds I hate!

Cyn, we hit a young wombat driving home one night. Thankfully hubby wasn't driving fast and he saw it in time to hit the brakes. It was a bit shaky, but walked away. The car is a bit dented though. I see kangaroos, wombats and other natives on the side of the road out this way all the time. It's a dangerous place for animals to be after dark.

Broni - the tour around to see the animals? Mostly around Redland Bay and Mt Cotton. I wonder if Keith & Lynne would like to see the wallabies in their natural surroundings? Or even if they would have time.

Indian Mynahs? They are not very big, a bit smaller than a lorikeet. And they steal my dogs' food too!

Agree, Suzy. Only non-locals drive fast around here at dusk or during the night.
Poor wombat. If we hit a kangaroo (not so far) or see one that has been hit, we call the wildlife rescue people because, even if the roo is dead, it may have a joey that survived and they must get there quickly.

We did that too Cyn. They came out and searched for him/her, but he/she had hidden in a burrow under a bridge. We helped look for about an hour, but then they sent us home. I can't drive over the bridge without wondering about him/her...

I hope she's okay too - and hopefully she has some road sense now.
Just went and yelled at the kiddies - I think it's in my job description. Sigh.

Cyn/Zusy just google them but they are pure white on the underbelly and seem to have a longer tail.
Cyn, Keith and Lynne are arriving midday Saturday and leaving Monday not sure what time. Was thinking about taking them straight to the city to do the rounds of the statues but will need someone who knows the city better than me, we would be getting lost all the time hehe!
Perhaps on Monday I could take them down Redland bay way and have brunch somewhere, just depends on the time of their flight.

That's a flying visit Broni! I know what you mean about getting lost - we got lost in Sydney the other day. Did see a lot of statues though... shame Keith wasn't with us.

Back in from doing the final chores for the night.
A lot of people feed dog food to pet Mynahs. They love it and it's good for them. That's probably why they steal Bellas food Broni.

Broni - Southbank would be the obvious place to take them but there are some gardens in the city with statues in them (Viv found them weeks ago and I didn't keep the link) and I don't know what they're called. Some Brisbaneite I am, lived here all my life and don't know my way around the city any more. There's always Mt Coot-tha as well. If you're doing brunch, Sirromet winery, near me, does breakfasts - not sure how expensive though. Later in the day, there's always wallabies amongst the vines but not sure if they're there in the mornings.
We can make ourselves available if you need help.

Hello, wonderful people! Happy Birthday to Gail's daughter, Toy Elephant! Just started reading and haven't figured out who Miss Shirley is. Broni, so glad you had a great time on the boat, but too bad pooter repair will take a long time!
MizT, I didn't have any luck finding half-price Easter candies worth buying, and especially no yummy chocolate. Yes, I know white chocolate isn't chocolate, but I also will eat it. Just couldn't find any white, milk or dark chocolate worth opening my wallet.

Think I might take the clothes off the line now before they blow away. We must have the edge of the winds that are supposed to be blowing south of here - or was that yesterday????
