Thanks to you all for the greetings. This is the first chance I have had to get on the pooter today so am still in shock at the number of messages here and on my page.
Yes, I went somewhere very special for lunch...Bean's place! She cooked up a feast from the menu that Lachie planned. Hannah and I had a lovely time and we were spoiled rotten!

The wind was pretty scary this morning, and there was plenty of debris on the road. Had a couple of big branches fall on the roof very early, and there is a small tree from the neighbour's yard on our fence.

Suzy, as we were lying in bed, we were getting a little nervous! Hubby said he hoped they didn't go through the roof, I said as long as they don't go through the roof UP THERE *pointing above bed*.
No, no real damage, just to our nerves. The power was flicking on and off all morning, and while Hannah and I were driving out this morning, we were diverted up a side road due to power lines down. The detour was still in place when we got back this arvo.

I'm up, and getting ready to load up critters and go. I probably won't have time to check in until after the tour.
It sounds like a nasty storm, Gail. It could have been much worse, though.

Ooohhh yesssssssssssssss. Success.
Now Broni either you or CynB were asking about the statues in Brisbane that I mentioned a while back.
If you go to my page you will see a pic of the one I reckon would be ideal for Keith to pose with. It looks like him. !! Heeeee
I will post some info in the next post.

King George Square history
King George Square was opened in 1975. It is an open public area at the entrance of City Hall.
Within King George Square there are a number of statues including:
Petrie Tableau: erected in 1988 to mark Australia’s bi-centennial. It depicts the Petrie family who were the first free-settling family in the local district
King George V Memorial: erected in 1938 in honour of King George V, who was the ruling monarch of England when City Hall was opened
Speaker’s Corner: an area set up in 1991 for free speech. The three statues depict prominent public speakers from Queensland’s history. They are:
left: Steele Rudd, a famous storyteller and writer who created the 'Dad and Dave' characters from the 'On Our Selection' stories
centre: Emma Miller, a suffragette and trade unionist at the turn of the century who was instrumental in introducing women’s vote and rights for Australia
right: Sir Charles Lilley, a former Premier and Chief Justice of Queensland, one time member for the Valley and early editor in chief for the Moreton Bay Courier (now Courier-Mail)
Forme Del Mito bronze figurines: Council purchased the figurines when they were brought to Brisbane for World Expo 1988. Designed by Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro, the Forme Del Mito is derived from the Greek tragedy, Agamemnon. Each figure represents a force and principal character

Thank you, Viv.
The things one finds out about their own town - I have been in KG Square often and (I'm ashamed to say this) must have walked past these statues, the histories of all 3 I'm well aware of - in fact the loveliest teacher I ever had (for French in high school) was a descendant of Charles Lilley who also founded the school I went to.
And the building in the background is the Reserve Bank, who I worked for before I got married and had kids (but in their previous premises).

Had a quick glance through the 4 pages for today.
Cyn, the grey birds are native Noisy Minors9 eat nectar and insects) and the brown birds are imported pests called Indian Mynas and eat pet food.
Gail, pleased you and Bean and your offspring had a great day together. Enjoy your day with Keith and Lynne.
That staue in KG Square is a Beauty for Keith. Cannot think of anything better!

Suzy, I would not mind a copy of your Banana bread either. I might get to taste it that way.(Suzy made some for me but Ally ate it on the way up). I did make some tonight with a recipe I got off the net. It said throw it all in the kitchen whizz. My kind of mixing!!!
I had a great day at the Show. Laura got spoilt rotten by her Aunt. I think we will all sleep well tonight.
I did try taking a photo of some Red Angus for Heidi with the zoom so could be better. Love having a camera again but really must study it to get the best use, rather than aim and fire!!
And Gail, like Suzy, I did have a bit of a giggle about the branches hitting the roof at , maybe , wrong time.( age does not dull the imagination!)

OH OH, Keith must be photographed with that statue! It does look like him! Now, wouldn't it be fun to find Keith a top hat and walking stick! That would be the best photo since the 'topless' one.
I must go back and read again the last 4 pages. LOTS of fun things to read and comment upon.
GAIL, I sent a birthday greeting, but do not see it on the pages now. Guess it fell into the great cyber hole. well, greeting was soo full of good cheer and best wishes, it should go a long way toward filling that great cyber hole!

Hi and if I have missed you Bye CynB.
That is easy enough to do CynB. I still discover places I never knew were in Port Macquarie.
Hi June. Yes an absolute cracker of a statue for Keith to pose with if I ever saw one. hehehehe
We have a great one in Port down by the waterfront. It is of Sir Edmond Barton who was our first Prime Minister.
