Ooo, now how did I do that considering I'm not even here!

Hannah goes back to school today after the two week break. At long last I feel I can give a sigh of relief. It has been a madhouse around here for too long now.

Oh those little birdies! I love them. I have one who flies for miles to come and steal a tidbit from the balcony when I am feeding the kookaburras. They are so cute and friendly.

I did have a good time with parents. It was really exciting. We went to the butcher so I can fill my freezer to feed the beastie boys. They make good hotdogs so my dad came to have lunch. Mom came just to keep busy.

Good morning lovely SA8 people.
Have a great time in Tassie, June.
Suzy - good idea to send it off or you would have been reading and re-reading and editing unnecessarily.
My daughter is working on an assignment to be submitted next weekend - she's just sent it to me for my opinion - on The History of Natural Medicine - how will I know if she's got it right, I don't know the subject. But it makes her feel better for her Mum to look at it - so look at it I will!

Still another week and 2 days to go here Gail..

Broni, much better to have butcher birds than indian mynahs!

Cyn, you will be able to check it makes sense! Sometimes my brain is about 3 sentences ahead of my typing and a paragraph comes out as nonsense.

Suzy, I listened to the butcher bird's song. It was said to be most melodic of Australian birds. Either a lot is lost in recording, or Australian birds do not hold a candle to our songbirds. I am not sure how many you heard when living in CA, that is one thing daughter who lives there said she misses. the song birds and the trees.

WARNING: Cat Stroy

Suzy, I was looking online for songbirds we have. First one I found with sound was a moking bird. Scooter was askeep on the computer tower. I clicked on play for this 45 second sound clip, and Scooter is wide awake and looking. Gets down from her perch and looks over, under and around the speaker. She KNOWS a bird is in here, and she cannot find it. I am laughing and tears rolling down my face, and here comes Screech, front paws up on the desk and meowing. " Mommie, I came to help you" Up on the desk and now both kitties squeezed on my mouse pad, one looking left side of the speaker and one looking right side, looking up and over, and down and under, they never did find that bird! I stopped laughing long enough to find the mouse and click STOP. Funniest thing I have seen all day. Silly Kitties!

Here is the song I found.

A mocking bird is so named because it hears and copies sounds, other bird songs, bells and whistles it might hear. We had one once that copied our telephone ringing. would make Al a bit upset when he stopped whatever he was doing outside to go inside to answer a phone that was not really ringing. hehehe.

Aussie friends, here I buy applesauce in a jar. Most is sweetened, I have to look for unsweetened applesauce. I think in USA sugar is put in everything.

MizT, we do have some beautiful song birds here - it had to be the recording!

I love the image of your cats looking for the bird! I would have been laughing hysterically, but being a bit of a meanie I wouldn't have hit stop, I would have hit replay!!

Bummed I missed June!

Heidi, I have spell check on my word processor, but I did think of going back through in case there were wrong there, their and they'res etc and didn't.

Sugar and cinnamon MizT. I remember being frustrated trying to find something that wasn't cinnamon flavoured! Not that I don't love cinnamon - if we ever get back to visit Cinnabon will be one of my first stops - it's just that it was in things that it shouldn't oughta been.

Suzy, I have not noticed cinnamon being in everything here. I see cinnamon applesauce, and cinnamon graham crackers. cinnamon buns, cannot at the moment think of more.

We had a bit of weather go through. tornado warnings, and storms with possible tornadoes in them just north of us, and just south of us. We just had one thunder storm here with a lot of rain, and not a lot of wind. Kitties did not like it, one was in my lap and one in Al's lap.

I did play the song bird recordings more than once. Every time I would, kitties would repeat. I will have to show Al tomorrow, he is a bit of a meanie also and would appreciate it.

Off to check radar again, see if any more storms headed toward us or if we are all clear. I am ready to go to bed.

Hehe Cyn! They are a pink clear candy in the shape of tiny hearts and the strongest taste of cinnamon ever, they came from the States, have not seen them here. One or two if you are a real fan of cinnamon.

Morning Sudokuland, Morning Stella!

Storms are gone, reports of a few damaged homes and a lot of trees down just north and just south of us, but no damage here here. At one time last night, there were 5 different storms with possible tornadoes in our one state. Was a wild kind of night.

Join me in a cup of coffee today, it tastes especially good today.
