Hi Heidi: That could be possible. My husband has had to do that too!! Most of his clients, however, he's able to repair their pooters...If he can't, they let him have them for parts. He also sells refurbished ones. This was a hobby for a few months, until he realized he could make $$ doing it...

Hi Suzanne and Heidi, no puter is still doing the same thing as before either giving me a system boot fail or getting to window then freezing after a while. Back to the hospital or will be a boat anchor.

I grew up in an apartment and there was no clothes line. We always used the spinny thing. When my parents bought a house, they did not put in a clothes line. I can't picture my mom hanging clothes on a line. She did have a rack in the corner that she would hang delicate stuff on. My grandmother used to hang clothes on a clothesline.

Good morning lovely SA8 people.
Well, the little family arrived back from Ethiopia in the early hours of the morning. Baby Daniel is sooooooo gorgeous and happy. He came happily to me whilst we were still in the airport. I am looking forward to getting to know him better and have had to ring both families of grandies today to tell them. They can't wait to meet their new (sort-of) cousin. Our friends have waited a long time and suffered many years of bureaucratic (sp) red-tape and delays for this moment. When/if they give me the okay, I will post a pic of him.

That is so cool Cyn!!! Congrats on the new addition!! How exciting for your family!!! That is a special gift to adopt a child. When my mom & (step)dad (He's my dad no matter biology) got married, he wanted to adopt me and my sperm donor (sorry that's how I think of him) fought it for my whole life. So, at 18, I legally changed my last name to my dad's. I am very proud & happy with our relationship.

I cannot imagine not having a clothes-line. I do have a tumble-dryer as well but here in Qld, in our climate, most people use the line. Even in the wettest of weather, I could not imagine tumble-drying bath-towels. They need the sun and breeze through them.
Ok, off my (thanks Heidi for the smiley)
Oh BTW, I have owned the odd dog whose prime aim in life was to destroy the washing on the line. I just learned techniques to avoid that.

Cyn: so maybe my fears about the clothesline are not unfounded considering my dog is NUTS??? But I wouln't trade her for anything!!!

That's lovely too Suzanne. My hubby's brother has a (step) son like that. Hubby's Bro has been his Dad since he was 18 months old and the boy is now 16 and has desperately wanted to be adopted by his Stepdad for years but his real father, who has NIL contact by choice won't allow it.

Cyn: I first met my real father Frank when I was 14, the first time I spoke to him I asked my dad Harry, if he was ok with me meeting him...I met him & realized I wasn't really missing anything in that part of my life. Harry has ALWAYS treated me as if I was his own. We had issues when I was 15, 16 ish and got thru all that I would NEVER trade Harry for anything. He & my mom will be married 45 years this June.

Suzanne, my hubby does computer repairs and builds machines, mostly desk tops. That is why we each have a machine plus a spare or two.

Just dropping in to catch up on my reading fore bed time. suzanne, I knew there was a very good reason I live in Alabama instead of Utah. Snow in May? Not for me. I do get a bit tired of the 90/90 weather of July and August, but we have nice days the rest of the year, including some nice sunny warm days in winter. Snow is a rareity and never lasts long. I do not like cold and snow and ice.

I remembered something that I thought you might find funny.

When we had the new water system put in we used a door that we don't often use. In fact it's probably at least 2 years since anyone has been through it. It wasn't locked!!!!!! So we go around locking the doors at night, and have had a door unlocked for at least 2 years. Hmmmmmmmm

Suzanne, to find out about supporting membership, go to this page

http://sudoku.com.au/MemberList.aspx

Look on the right, you see free membership and supporting membership. It tells what you get with each and how to pay for supporting membership. You cannot send a check, that is for Aussies or someone with Aussie dollars. You need pay pal since they cannot accept US dollars.

Suzanne, I have done the sloshy thing this morning also and hung out that load. line is full, will wait till tomorrow for second load. I have a very short clothes line, on my back porch, so I must put our wearing clothes on coat hangers and hand those on the line. But they get dry, all that matters. AND once they are ery, straight to the closet, so actually I handle them less this way.

Good Afternoon all. Hubby had a dead car battery this morning. Jump started his car, went to the mechanic and found out the battery is still under warranty so it did not cost us anything. The battery was purchased in April 2007. Next week they would have started pro-rating it. Came in just under the wire. That is what I call luck.

Have to go to the store in a minute. Need new sponges to wash the cars. Mitchell is going to learn how to do a good job because he is going to start washing the cars of a few neighbors. He wants to earn money and that is one of the only ways for a 12 year old.
