It's gone! I just sent it! Too late to have second thoughts now.
I would be having a glass of wine to celebrate, but I have to drive Ally to and from singing practice so will have to make do with a cyber celebration instead.

Bean is that full time respite? Know it both ways and it can be difficult, but as you said Pete really needs it. Hope your MIL is understanding.

Just dropping in. Flinging food and it's wait time.
Hi Judy!
Not sure what's going to happen tonight - I see on facebook that our 'leader' is sick. But they have a show on Friday so really have no choice but to practice...

Good morning all! Still tired this morning. Had a lovely weekend at my sister's. The Baptism was very nice. Liam is adorable and never cries. My brother baptized him and Jerry was the god father. My great-niece looked beautiful in her 1st Communion dress that evening, although she is a tomboy! I'll have to post some pictures when I download them from my camera. The only part of the day that worried me was my mom kept forgetting what the occasion was. I've never seen her like that. I think she spends too much time cooped up in her house alone.:(

Good Morning to all the topsiders, good night to any DUGs still about. another cool, sunny start to a day here in my neighborhood. windows and doors open, fan bringing in the cool air. Enjoy it while it is here!
I hope today is go to Wal Mart day. Need just a few items. It will be a race to see if I can make the sweetener last till we go, that near empty it is. Thursday was the day I planned to go, did not happen. Al was going to install a muffler on his van. Came home with parts, and a heater hose sprang a leak, so he had 2 repairs. that short, 8 inch hose was in an inaccessible place, took him one day to do muffler, and 2 and a half days to get that little heater hose off and back on.

It feels like I'm in the twilight zone. When I first posted, I could have sworn it said there were no birthdays. Now I look, and there is a birthday. When I went to Nancy's page, nobody posted birthday wishes, which is unusual because it is late in the evening on the site. I was just wondering if there was maybe a glitch and nobody else sees "Nancy from Michigan" under the birthday notice.

Morning Stella, Glad your trip went well, looking forward to the photos. What Gail said about Mums, I still miss mine.
Coffee is on, that first cup is the best. Join me if you please.
SUZY, way to go girl, happy for you another goal is reached. Soon you will be back to school, WOW.
Broni, I do not mind boxes, now if Al could repair the 'beam me up Scotty' machine, I would pop in for the party!

News story: Swine Flu likely in Queensland
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/04/27/2554048.htm?section=justin
Something I had not thought of, Australia and the southern hemisphere, just going into winter, will be at greater risk for the flu outbreaks, as winter is peak flu season.

When I left my sister's house yesterday, it was 96F! By the time we got back up north to my house, it was 56F! I couldn't believe the difference. Apparently, we had rain come through which dropped the temp. It's usually not that big of a difference.

Stella, who had 96 (35C) yesterday? I am so glad it was not that hot here, not this early in the season. We were mid 80's (24-25)and that is taking some getting accustomed to, since this has been a cool spring.

My niece was watching a youtube and it was so funny. It was from "Britain's Got Talent" and the act was a spoof on Riverdance and Michael Flatley. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gHvATmUsSg

South Jersey, on the border of Delaware. It was very hot. I was not used to it. 96 would be a rare temp even in the middle of summer. But at least it wasn't soupy!

I would have been happy to find 56 after being exposed to 96 degree temps, that is HOT, too hot for spring, too hot for Delaware.

Hi Tricia, Stella..nice to see you both here.
Broni I am just looking for a weeks respite at the moment so Pete can come to Cairns...certainly sounds like I have made up my mind about going to Cairns ... Lachie can look after both the dogs which would be good. I am also trying to find a placement for more permanent care.... at least for a trial to see how she really feels it. She is talking about it a lot but I'm not sure whether that is just because she feels that she is too much work and too much trouble for everyone. I suspect that she will miss the dog so much that she will want to come home...time will tell. I know it took over 12 months to find somewhere that we were happy with for my FIL and so I'm expecting this to me a lengthy process.
Today was my mothers birthday. Found it much easier today than I did last year. It is 21 months now since she died. It is 21 years since my dad died died... my sister and SIL were both pregnant when he died and the two 21st birthdays we have just had has been a reminder of just how long ago it was.

MizT, I'll take some of that coffee. I could use it this morning. Last night's rehearsal was great - the kids sounded good, but I came home with a horrible headache. I suspect it was because I got to hear the latest drama report and a rehash of old drama.

Hi Nola
Five in quarantine in NSW now, waiting for results. They say it is inevitable that it will reach here. Did the article you read mention the study they did on face masks? Parents who wore them while caring for sick children were much less likely to get sick themselves, but most Australians would rather get sick than wear them...
