I'm a night owl, not a morning person. I sometimes think I'm turning into a vampire... you know, only awake after dark.

Heidi: Does that make you a pain in the neck??? TEE HEE, sorry I have a warped sense of humor, Mom's b-day is halloween, dad's is April fools day!! Hope the birds hatch this time...when we lived in Burbank after the 94 quake, we had a ficus tree near our mailboxes and I actually saw a hummingbird nest!! They had one set of eggs that didn't take, 2nd set did!! It was so cool to see those eggs (and how tiny they were)...

Congrats on you TOPP, Heidi. Serves me right for not looking at the numbers.

I'm more of a night person, also, but sometimes life gets in the way.

You're still young, Heidi! You haven't reached the age when most women hit menopause. Maybe then . . . ?

Just popping in before I head off to bed with a Bean update...just got off the phone with her. Her internet has been down for over 24 hours and she is not a happy camper. But she did want me to let you all know she has not fallen off the edge of the earth!
OK - off I go - hugs all around!

Dogs are eating, now I'm trying to get IH to go to bed. He has to leave for the Memorial service in just under 6 hours. He is the procrastination champ.

Good afternoon lovely SA8 people.
Had a nice high tea with Mum this morning - the lady (Diversional Therapist) who organised it did a great job.
Suzanne - looks like I've missed you. You are fortunate to still have both your parents as I was for so long. I cannot complain, Dad was nearly 91 so he had a long life but was ready to go at the end. I just miss him - as we all, who have lost someone close to them, do.
Heidi - do you have to miss your MIL's memorial service? What a shame. Also I hope your next pair of Gouldians are more successful breeders.
Suzy - glad you could copy MizT's and Heidi's descriptions of their tornado experiences for Ally. It's not an experience we have here in Australia.
MizT - loved the fig/pig story - how cute.

Hope Beanie gets her pooter up and running soon.

Tomorrow we're off to the first birthday party for the little boy that our friends adopted from Ethiopia. I've bought him a zoo-train - the 'engine' is an elephant and it is pulling zebra, rhino and giraffe carriages. I'd probably better wrap it before the batteries go flat.

Cyn, absolutely perfect toy! And he will love it for years to come... So glad you had a good visit with your Mum.

Heidi, not knowing how old you are??? That's called priorities! The calendar is not as important as how old you feel.

I'm off, time for the after school activity burl... will probably be busy until 9 or 10 tonight. Sigh. At least I will have coffee with friends in the middle of it.

Goodnight Heidi.
I think I'll have a nanna nap - why am I tired from just visiting my mother? I think it's a combination of spending some of today and most of yesterday with my sister who is the complete opposite of me - full-on! And maybe staying up late catching up on TV shows I've recorded during the week. Ho hum - back later.

Good Night friends. I fell asleep watching the evening news on TV, slept almost 2 hours in my recliner. That is something I do not do often.

I will see you again on the flip side. Hugs to all.

Suzanne, don't feel guilty for still having your parents. Cherish every day, and say 'I love you' every time you talk to them.
Give them a hug from all of us who don't hav ours any more.
Sunday is Mother's Day here in Aus, another of the 'first' occasions. I am not liking this year very much!

Cyn, that sounds like a great pressie...now stop playing with it and wrap it!

Heidi, better luck next time with the finches, keep us informed. Thoughts go with your hubby. , I wish there was some way you could have gone too, but I suppose that is the commitment you have made to the farm.

Hubby and I have had a lovely day today. This morning a 'bloke' came and fixed my dryer, YAY! Then we went for a drive to a town about forty mins away and had a 'gail' at a fav cafe...not any more though unfortunately, I think it has changed hands and there was something just NQR about it, so we probably wont go back there. After that, we decided to have a cappucino in another town, also about forty mins from home, and spent a very pleasant time strolling along the Yarra River for a while before having our coffee then driving back to pick up D#3 from school.
If anyone tells you life sucks, tell them to go for a stroll!

Had my nanna nap - feel better.
Hi Gail - yes Lizzie is a DT. A good DT is a necessity at those facilities and the one where Mum is, is great. She had Mum helping her set the table and Mum was her old pedantic self about things being tidy and orderly. Judging from some of activities I have heard Lizzie mention that she's organised, she's obviously good at her job too.
Nothing worse than a cafe/restaurant you love changing hands and never being the same again.

Haven't caught up because I wasn't home yesterday. Won't get back until this evening. Was supposed to watch Bryana play softball, but the game was cancelled due to the swine flu. She still has practice though, ergo the late return.
