Ahhh...Hello SA8...Hope all is well!
Bean...ruffle feathers...its okay...We all need a heads up from time to time and Heidi certainly proved that she's a big girl...I think it's the best use of these pages and our comments...If we can't tell each other that " enough is enough" ...then who can.....without hurt and animosity? We are a caring group of folks and wish to add to our numbers, so caution is a well thought out way to go...posting explicite jokes is another heads up that we need to be aware of due to the ages of some of our younger friends and have been cautioned about..not always in a caring manner... We should do this not because they, the young folks, would be offended, but simply out of respect for their youth...We know that today's young folks are not as naive as we were, but still we need to show them a different way....Off of the soap box for now...lol!

Life is full...my new floor will be installed at the end of the month and boy am I looking forward to that with both dread and happiness...it will be an ordeal and exciting at the same time...the light and the dark showing themselves....
More later...take care,,,I care..Glad Gail's sister Wendy is on the healing track..prayers are with her....Peace.

Wow, I gotta get a job - feeding 3 young people is bad enough, but 6? I had to go shopping again this morning, including a giant jar of peanut butter. They even spread it on bananas. yuk. At least I found some fresh apple pies for Pi Day. Couldn't find any Aussie oranges to feed these young Americans - only California ones. lol Hubby's taken them all out to the islands on the boat today, so they'll be starving again when they return. Aussie barbecue tonight!

I get a coffee break after all - hubby has gone off to buy a replacement drill tip - the old one is not getting the screws into the hard wood. He figures it's old, it might be worn out.

My hubby made himself a peanut butter and banana sandwich the other day when grandie Emily was here. She watched him and said 'Oh Poppy, peanut butter and banana, that is SO wrong!'
I agree with her.

Business is taking off - hubby even worked today. Got on to a property management company and they are giving him lots of work. Also the signs on the trailer are bringing people in - one woman following him today phoned and said 'Col - pull over' (On the signs it says = call Col now on etc,) He said 'Who are you?', she said, 'I'm following you in the traffic and I want you to mow my lawn - I like your signs!'

Stella, I am glad hubby's surgery is over and hope that the vision clears soonest. I know you must be more worried about this than you have mentioned.

Susan, California oranges in Oz? boy those traveled a long time! Well, we get kiwi from down under, guess the distance is the same each way. Did I ever tell you I once got to pick kiwis? Nope, not in New Zealand, but about 10 miles from my house! the Ag School's experimental farm was testing different varities to see if any one of them would be suitable for our climate.

Suzy would be the only Aussie eating peanut butter and bananas. It is a USA thing I imagine and she was here a while, we rubbed off on her.

Ever try peanut butter and sliced pineapple sandwich? Sometimes I like that better than peanut butter and bananas.

OH, once we were on the lake for the day, and talked Dad into staying later than planned. He was OK with it, but Mom said, we have nothing for dinner. Dad rummaged around the picnic box and found a loaf of bread, peanut butter and apples, yep, made sandwiches of peanut butter and sliced apples hehehe. Peanut butter goes with just about anything.

CynB, how funny about the call for Col to pull over. I am still giggling about that one. Will have to remember to share with AL in the morning. Happy the business is taking off.

I am off now to see Heidi's engraved egg, and then check out Cyn's photo on medium. Catch you on the flip side, bed time is here.

Had a few giggles reading the posts. Love your Chinese instructions Suzy. Bit like "The Grimm's Fairytales" videos Ken brought back from Taiwan. Laura liked to watch them but I am not watching something in Chinese.
Checking up!!! if we go out and our daughters ring when we get home is is "Where were you??". We tell them we are old enough to go out on our own!

MizTricia, I think it's because of the drought that we are having to import oranges. If only we could share our water around here! Bean says it's raining down there, so that's good news, just a pity that it didn't arrive a few weeks ago.

Cough much better. I think the hot lemon, honey and whisky is doing the trick (I do not like whisky, even less with honey and lemon!)
Unfortunately Sharon got the bronchitis and lost her voice. Also got a temperature so was touch and go if she had to go into the hospital last night. The Doc had given her some antibiotics so she stayed home (she is 10 minutes from the hospital) and is much better today. Laura is with her Aunt for the weekend.

Wow, good comment for the photograph of Cyn's and for Heidi's egg both. Worth the time to go see.

Cyn, very nice composition of the photo, and looks to be a nice view, wish I saw something similar from my back veranda every day. Did I ever mention I love watching the water?

Heidi, I left you a bunch of questions on your page. You could answer them here if you like, I am sure everyone would like to know more about carving eggs.

I am waffling...again....popped in to see what was new...wasn't planning on posting...have just got off the phone to Vici...we were comparing ways of eating peanut butter and what do I find here...the same conversation in progress....extraordinary!!! [it was at the exact same time!!] FYI I love the crunchy variety especially with plum and raspberry jam or on rye bread with ricotta cheese....

Just past 12:30 a.m. here, so sending my wishes for a Good Night/afternoon/evening to all. Pleasant dreams to those who can.

Thinking positive thought for Gail's sister Wendy for successful surgery and a speedy and uncomplicated recovery! Thinking of you, too, Gail!

Maybe I'll get caught up on reading tomorrow?

Eeewwwwwwww! Bean. Even my hubby doesn't eat it with jam but my ex (the kid's Dad) used to. My best friend refused to sit at the same table with him while he ate it. We were on a weeks holiday together so, of course, just to annoy heh, he did it every day.

Huffing and puffing here. Hubby is dropping the girls off at a friend's house and I rushed around trying to make sure I was ready to go out when he got back. Nail polish is still wet, other than that, I've done it! I'm even wearing ridiculously uncomfortable shoes.

Suzy - let's not go overboard over the number of posts per visit - if you've got something to say, just say it.
Thanks for the comment about the business, we're happy.
BTW - we used to be able to buy a product (in the early '90's) which I think was from the US called Goober Grape which was Jam and peanut butter striped in a jar - Col used to eat that but only at his mother's - I would never buy it!

June - glad to hear that you and Sharon are getting better.
I know what you mean about daughters. Mine expects me to tell her where I am always and if she can't find me, she rings Col.
One of the early signs of my Mum's dementia were the increased phone calls to her 3 children and her sister. And she'd leave messages, one day I got home and there were 26 messages, all getting progressively more abusive. I was gone for 3 hours or so!

Quick explanation - the meals in brackets ( )are the lunch/brunch offerings for those days. Due to many circumstances, hubby is now home Mondays and Fridays, so to avoid stretch the budget and the waistline by having 'gails' each time, we will be eating at home.
(Please keep me in your thoughts, love him as much as I do, I am not coping too well with this semi-retirement thingy! It is encroaching onto my sneak peek times!!! Now I have to make it look like I actually do stuff during the day. )

Hi Brenda, how is your cold? I have just had my hot honey lemon and whisky. Not my favourite tipple but does seem to help stop me coughing at night. Feel OK otherwise.
Gail you make my mouth water with your 2 week menu.
