Good morning all! Gloomy and rainy here. Winter is trying to hang on.
So said that Natasha Richardson has died. It's incredible that such a simple fall could cause such damage. A real tragedy.

Good Morning Stella, it appears I missed you this morning.
I also was shocked when I read the details of Natasha Richardson's accident, and how a simple fall that she walked away from lead to fatal brain damage.

Hi all. Were having difficulties getting that puppy from the shelter. They say they want to try to adopt him out themselves. They also have him listed as a mix and he's obviously a purebred. 10 weeks old.

On the radio this morning, they were saying that they think she must have had an underlying brain problem already, because a small blow on the head like she got was not sufficient to cause fatal brain damage. They are doing an autopsy.

Heidi, I thought the same when I read that, some undiagnosed condition plus that small jarring combined were the cause.
What will your rescue group do about the puppy now? Just follow it and see if they can find it a home? I remember what a 10 week old collie looks like. Our family pup, received at Christmas, was just a ball of curls and energy! She was about that old when we had to go back to school and she was left alone for her first time. She put scratches on the wall beside the door. With 4 children home, she had not been alone for the entire 2 week Christmas holiday.

DUH, I got off on a tangent and lost my train of thought. Remembering how adorable a 10 week old collie is, I would think they would have little problem finding it a home.

I may head out there later today and adopt him myself. That is, if we cannot negotiate his release.

Hi everybody. I have an empty house so guess where I am? Here of course. Spring break here this week and next but because Amber was sick we are working through it. She has been working very hard so I let her go with Dad to Kelowna. I suppose I should do some krowesuoh. My spell check thinks I spelled that wrong. I hope everyone is well and safe.

Morning all!
Gail, so glad Wendy is feeling better, and that the doc was thoughtful about where he put the incision. Your son's scar sounds okay too, though it would be better if he hadn't been hurt at all!

Broni, I think I want to borrow your boarder...
Heidi, I'm sure the puppy will find a loving home.
Rena, has Amber caught up to where she 'should' be? It's probably a year since you mentioned that the school had let her down and she was behind so my memory could be all cuffuddled...

Morning all,
Good news Bobbie,
nice to see Mamacita able to drop in for a chat.
Sorry about Bonnie Heidi, but after all your rehabilitation she may now have a home where she is Top Dog instead of one of many.
I lost a post yesterday and now I have forgotten what else I had to say. No time to go back and read it all again.

Morning Broni.
I cannot find my silly cat. She was in the garden on Wednesday morning but will not come in when Laura is here. The food I have put out has been eaten but I suspect by another neighbourhood cat. My cat is probably getting her food elsewhere. I just hope she has not got herself locked under someones house. Normally she does not venture very far. I have had her go missing for a day or two before.

Mother/daughter day today. Every second Friday Karin and I spend the day together without kids. We're just shopping today. Might try to see if DIL will meet us. I want to get the kids something small for Easter (like clothes - maybe pyjamas) because I only buy them one egg. They get far too many as it is.

Morning everybody..
Heidi...I shouldn't encourage you but I think it would be wonderful to adopt that gorgeous pup...
Tricia I am so glad you knew where to lay your hands on 'Rainbow Ridge' for Mo.
I hadn't heard they were doing an autopsy on Natasha..I suspected an aneurysm..
Have a good one everybody.

Does anyone know when Vici was to return from her trip? Yoo Hoo Vici, time to report back in young lady!
Gail, did you get to see Puffing Billy? Did you wave when it did? Park looks lovely, as you said a nice place to go for a walk. Thanks for showing us the photos on the site.
Mariana, do you have an expected finish date on the house? Did you ever get all the different stains picked?
Heidi, just why does your collie rescue group want the little puppy away from the shelter that has him? Are they less capable of selecting a good home for him? seems to me that you do not think he is in good hands there.
June, hope your cat returns home soon. I know how I worry if mine stay gone for long. They might stay out all day some days but I do see them about the yard, or napping on the back porch and know they are OK.
Cyn, how long did it take hubby to get finished with his "5 hours into a 3 hour job" the other night? It is a bit hard to see to finish a job after dark.

Bean, aneurysm was on my short list of possibilities also. I have not read in the news either about autopsy, but seems the thing to do.
YES, I do keep a copy of Rainbow Bridge on hand. I have printed many copies for local friends, and sent many via internet, I still cry when I read it.
