These tulips are for traveling mercies to Rolanda's mom (heading off to Holland today) and out of the joy of seeing some of the 900 bulbs I planted start to bloom. Only croucues (picture in my gallery) and a few daffodils right now. No tulip blooms yet.

Good morning all! I tried to post yesterday morning after my first post, but the site was down.
Ian was home sick yesterday and again today. The PA thinks it's just a sinus infection, but his cough and lungs don't sound good. He's on antibiotics.

Just came to close down for the evening but couldn't do that without commenting on Vici's lovely tulips. I love tulips but they don't do well in our sub-tropical climate.
Stella - hope Ian feels better soon.
See you all tomorrow.
Off to watch a Bio on Montgomery Clift that I recorded on IQ yesterday. Heidi - did you like him? I did - I've read a fair bit about him but thought I'd like to know more. Ciao all.

Hi Vici! Nice to see you! Love the tulips. It's been crazy busy here with the kids coming and going for Spring break and everyone's illnesses and surgeries!

June - happy you found your wayward kitty. Panda had to go for her annual vet visit and vaccines yesterday. Of course she was no where to be found at the time we needed to leave for the vets!
Bobbi - so glad everything went well with your procedure. Will keep you in my prayers.
Sorry for the CRAFTs and those I haven't commented on - hugs all around.

Today is the first day of Spring, the vernal equinox!
We still have some snow on the ground but the warm sun is trying to melt it each day. The temp doesn't help, 26F, but the warm sun does! Did you know that Easter is determined by the vernal equinox and full moon? Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox!

Heidi, that collie puppy is adorable! I'm surprised he has lasted more than a day at the shelter. When I was little I wanted a collie. I loved "Lassie."

This shelter is in a small town. It doesn't have many people coming by to adopt dogs. It's also NOT a no-kill shelter. If the animals aren't adopted after a certain period, they're put to sleep. Even puppies.

Good morning everyone.
Yesterday morning,we didn't have power while they were doing maintenance, then life just kept getting in the way of computer time.
Renae and I took a few minutes to work out why the dryer wouldn't work then had a good laugh at our stupidity when we realized why.
Renae and Josh have at last got a rental house and will start moving today.I will miss them but it will be good to have the house back to ourselves again.
Vici..loved your blooming garden.
Heidi...do you have the puppy yet?
Forgot what else I was going to say.

NOLA, happy to hear your daughter and grandies will have a home of thier own. Is it nearby? Near enough for frequent visits with the grandies? OK, why would the dryer not work? I will be wondering till you come back and let us know.
HI RAYRAY, good to see you pop in for a visit. You should not wait for a special invitation, we always love to have you about. Heidi will be so sorry she missed you
Lucky will be lucky to have a home with you, Heidi. Is this to be a temporary home? I know you are adopting him to get him out of the shelter, but is that just a rescue ploy? Or will he have a forever home with you? Either way, I hope he fits in with all the other dogs. I am wondering how the older adults will take to a pup.
Bad Broni, you get the big spoon award for today!
Stella, stop, count to three and then take a big cleansing breath! You are so busy at the moment, hope Ian is better soon and your life settles down somewhat.
Stella, talking about Easter, I have noticed that dogwoods are blooming now. It is still 3 weeks till Easter. We are going to need some cool weather again to slow down the opening of those blooms, or they will be gone by Easter. Since I can remember only one Easter in the last 50 years we did not have a lovely Dogwood display, I think it will cool down again. I hope we do not have another freeze here.
There was more I wanted to say, OH, HI VICI! was one. I must run, get the greek baked chicken out of the oven. I had to make my greek seasoning, I cannot find it in my grocery. Oh well, Mr Google supplied a nice recipe that sounded like what I wanted. I had all the ingredients, and of course I changed it a bit. I have to make it my own.

Ken's team won their baseball 4-2. I was so pleased for him as he puts so much work into teaching these kids to play ball. I was a bit disappointed I was not able to go to the game but it was too late and long a night for Laura.

Stella, doesn't Ian have exams right now? Or are they finished? I hope they are finished! Ebob gets sick every year around her year-end exams. We've actually started to wonder if it is allergies as it happens at the same time every year... Will have to remember to make her an appointment...

News flash - Ally's singing teacher's sister has an extra part in an episode of Home and Away. I've told them they will have to tell me when it is on so I can look for her in the background - I don't watch the show normally, but will to see a friend in it.

Nola, so glad to hear about the rental house. Your story about the dryer reminds me of a microsoft help line joke that has been going around for years - guy can't work out why his computer won't work, it eventually comes out that he doesn't have power, microsoft person tells him to pack his computer up and send it back, not smart enough to own a computer, or something like that..

MizT.... I signed a legally binding contract to adopt him and give him a permanent home here. I will abide by it. That was the only way to get him out of there, but I've already fallen for him anyway.

Yeah, very cute Suzy! I've enjoyed reading all the news snippets and complaint letters, but I couldn't access that 20 stupid questions asked by tourists - only got the first questions asking whether there were lakes in the Lakes District.
Finally most of our new furniture has arrived to replace the flood damaged stuff. boxes everywhere so we're back to a mess again.

When I was at the shelter, I looked around at some of the other dogs. The dog in the kennel next to Lucky was a beautiful purebred Basset Hound. Broni would have fallen in love. I was tempted.

Last night we went out for dinner for Mum's birthday. Normally we shout her, and I pretty regularly take her out for lunch and I insist on paying. Last night, she insisted on paying for everyone - she can afford it. One brother who always finds an excuse not to attend such things is going to kick himself when he realises his whole family would have been paid for. Oh this is going to be so funny.

You were talking about internet friendships a few pages back....my family was as wary about meeting you CynB as your hubby was about meeting us! I think it's these married mothers of young children running off with internet boyfriends and financial scammers that give online friendships such a bad name. My home is open to all of my online friends, although we're far from anyone else, but if you get here and want $100 000 to transfer my $4m inheritance in Nigeria to my account, you're not getting it. And if you come here to steal hubby, same answer....but I might rethink the hubby one....hehe
