Judy... I'm used to dogs pushing me out of bed. There are usually 3 or 4 of them on there every night, and they all want my pillow.

It does indeed Heidi....I wouldn't mind one myself right now...would make a nice brekkie...have just been eating cold pizza...YES...I KNOW....very NAUGHTY Bean!!
Congrats on your TOPP...I have one little dog that is waiting for me to come back to bed right now!! We had conditioned our rather large German Shepherd to sleep beside the bed - which she did until Lachie was born. She then decided that it was more important to look after him. She used to come over and nudge me awake if she thought he needed attention.
My brother had the sister [named Bonnie!] to our dog and she was even bigger and when she came for sleep overs she would jump up and lie between the two of us. Many a time we awoke to find ourselves with no covers and half out of bed!! I think our dog used to do the same thing over there.

Just popping in before dinner. Had to go see the pictures of Lucky again - what a cutie pie.
Beanie - PIZZA???? You bad bean!
Gail - I'm a cat person, too...I really related to all of you who shared about not being able to go to the shelters lest you come home with all the animals. I can't go see the kitties for the same reason. That and Panda won't let me!

The triplet lambs are tiny.... and all solid white...... they're out of a first time mother, so I have the 4 of them locked up in a pen. I don't think those babies can keep up with the flock for a while.

Ok guys, now you're grossing me out - cold pizza is DISgusting! No, sorry, no arguments. The cheese goes all manky, the fat (so much of it!) congeals on top ... yech! At LEAST wack it in the microwave for a few minutes, or I'm just not going to talk to you!
Oh great, now you've made me hungry! You are BAD! ;)

As for you Judy...WELL....I never...disgusting...I think not!!
We have master pizza makers down yonder and there is NO congealed fat on ours...and hey, what is not to like about manky cheese...actually there is something wrong 'cos the cheese isn't really manky at all...microwaving the pizza and making the base all soggy IS manky!!!

Cold pizza was a favorite breakfast during college. I would still eat cold pizza for breakfast but now, there are no leftovers. The beastie boys have big appetites.

I much prefer cold pizza to pizza that was microwaved. It does not taste the same.

Ok, I'm obviously outnumbered here, so I'll surrender gracefully. To tell the truth pizza's not one of my favourites - I'm always incredibly thirsty for hours after I eat it. But I bet there aren't too many people here who can remember the VERY FIRST time the ate pizza? Mine was at Toto's (Melbourne) and I was at Uni - pizza was new, strange and very different! (I didn't think it would catch on! ;) )

Judy...glad you are going to bow out gracefully...
My first pizza was at Toto's as well. A place a bit further up Lygon St became my local...the Universal...do you remember it? They made THE BEST Capriccosa pizza around...yum...and the chef's were 2 very good looking young Italian brothers. Red checked tablecloths come to mind but they may be a figment of my imagination but the red candles stuck in Mateus Rose bottles weren't...

Ooh Bean, tripping down memory lane here! We used to go to the Twins Hamburger shop (where I also tasted souvlaki for the first time) and there were a few coffee shops we used to frequent (I had the hot chocolate, of course!) Also picked up quite a few words of Italian along the way! Happy days! ;)

Oooh...my very first souvlaki was from the Twins as well...they got to know me very well. I lived just up the road from there in the 'Save the Earth' house opposite the HC flats. Was the supermarket next door to the Twins back when you frequented the area? I used to pop in there on my way home from night duty and if I had no money [usual for student!] they would give me credit until payday....
Certainly was a different era...

Afternoon all!
I'm enjoying reading about the student memories - those were the days! Mine were spent in Sydney though, not Melbourne. Firsts for me - spaghetti, any kind of Italian food, tacos, snails (first and last - texture reminded me of oysters), cappuccinos... We used to stop for cappuccinos instead of going to maths tutorials.

Was it Judy who said gardening makes you itch? I've been going nuts with the secateurs in my little cottage garden courtyard thingy. It doesn't look very cottage gardeny anymore - a bit bare! And I'm itching all over - even after a shower...

Newly released by the UK government - National Archives. UFO sightings and government briefings about them. I like that an alien had a Scandinavian accent. I bet he laughed about that for years!

Hi all, it has been a busy week with bowls and I have had Laura during the week and then since Friday and she has just gone home. Tried to keep up with the posts but no time to post myself.
To warm left over pizza just put it in a warm stick free skillet for a few minutes. It will warm through and the crust will be crispy!
You new dog looks a cutie Heidi!

Gail, I heard that hint about the pizza a couple of weeks ago and tried it out after we had pizza one night after I had taken Laura home.(There was one piece left over)
The cat is inside tonight. She is still not well. There was no way I could cope with Laura and a cat going to the vet. Also this cat would be so stressed being in a container and then in the car and then being handled by a stranger. You can seldom find her if we have visitors.
She has started drinking some milk and also some water. I have also made her drink extra water using a syringe.

Hi all. I am being very rude by leaving the family eating tea while I snuck away to sudokuland.
Soooo busy here.
Loved all the dog and pizza chat.We got our pekenese from the RSPCA and soon realized why she was a stray. She can disappear in seconds, but now she does come back again.
Your new little puppy is gorgeous Heidi and it must be quite rare to get triplet lambs.

Hi all, I've had a busy weekend going to dog re-homing centres. We had decided a while ago that we would like another dog to be a playmate for Callie. At first we were going to get another puppy, but have recently decided that there are so many dogs being sent to re-homing centres that it would be nice to see if we can get something there instead. We know we would like another spaniel, but the local breed specific centres don't have anything at present. Nothing at suitable at the re-homing centre yesterday. Some nice dogs but the ones available were unsuited to being a second dog.
Have seen on advertised at a different centre so going there today. No doubt it will have already gone but they may have something else.
