Family is probably my smallest 'group' June. Half the morning at least to go, though I might stop at international friends today, and do local friends over the weekend...

B*mmer. I want to print my newsletters for my Christmas cards and the lazer printer is connected to hubbies computer which he wants turned off while he is away so that he can pick up his Emails on the lap top. It is probably only about 4am in Taiwan so I do not think he would like a phone call asking if I can turn his computer on.

If he's likely to be asleep he won't be picking up emails will he? You could sneak in and email him an 'apology' while you're there...

How about reconnecting it to your computer? He won't notice while he's away.

That only works if the drivers are installed on June's computer Heidi.

How are you this Maen?

Drivers? You forget that Macs have EVERYTHING included, so I never have to think of stuff like that. Plug it in and go.

Ah but Heidi, if a brand new printer is designed after you buy your Mac it couldn't possibly have the drivers on it for the new printer!

I just woke up again. TOO tired to go to the visitation at the funeral Home in the pouring rain. The visitation continues in the morning before the funeral (and it won't be pouring rain) so I'll go then.
I think the Mono is giving me one last (I hope) flare-up. I'm back to sleeping a LOT.

I'm up to M. I mad the sad decision to cut a few people off the list this year. I don't like to do that, even if the cards are not reciprocated. It's like cutting off a piece of my past...

Could the tiredness be partly psychological Heidi? A reluctance to say goodbye to an old friend? It's a very sad thing to have to do.

I haven't had that problem. And Apple sends weekly software updates to the Mac to accommodate new tech.

I am way too tired to even do Christmas cards this year. I usually have mine selected and purchased by early November. I can't even get the energy together to handle that. I really hope people understand.

I get updates all the time, but I don't think my drivers are updated. I've never thought about it, but can you buy any printer or are there printers specifically for Macs?

Good news, sorry to steal your thunder Brenda
Broni,

I have just had one of Ray's neighbours on the phone. Ray was rushed into hospital with a burst appendix. He has been extremely ill, but is on the mend. Today he has been taken off his drips etc and was going to have some tea.

He had been worried that he had not been able to contact anyone on Sudoku, but was pleased when the card I sent arrived. He was puzzled at the card as he couldn't remember me, which isn't suprising as I think I only ever spoke to him once.

I will put a message on Easy and on SA to let everyone know the news.

Brenda

I have posted this on Easy too

Just to let you all know that I have had news of Rayray. His neighbour contacted me today after the card I sent arrived and he had seen Ray.
Ray was rushed into hospital with a burst appendix, so he has been seriously ill. Today he has had all his tubes removed and has had his first cup of More...

tea.
He was sorry he couldn't let anyone know but he was rushed into hospital so quickly he could do nothing.

Unless Ray is in a private hospital he will not have internet or computer access until he gets home.

No problem at all Broni, I'm just pleased that someone had an address and that I could get a card to him so quickly, and also someone ws going in frequently to check the flat.

Poor Rayray. I hope they got the burst appendix early as I know the repercussions poor Sharon is having after her burst appendix last August. We are convinced all her current problems stem from that. Thanks Brenda and Broni for letting us all know.

Good News in our town tonight!!! Woohoo!
Suzy and others who were talking about writing cards, and having already received some lovely cards in the post were making me have second thoughts about my decision not to write cards this year. I too hoped people would understand..then Heidi's noting she was not up to sending cards, and Suzy saying she hadn't last year reinforced my decision not to try to send them this year...If its not understood...so be it. I will however send computer greetings to all of my friends here....

I have Emailed Hubby to let me know when he has picked up his mail and then I can turn his pooter on. The two computers are linked and I go through his computer to access that printer. It uses less ink than the printers connected directly to my computer. There are 4 printers connected although my big one is not working as my IH got generic ink and put in it.(I was told by a reliable source never to use generic ink in an Epson but Hubby would not believe me). I always changed the ink but it also prints A3 paper and hubby was using it and the ink needed changing. It stopped working immediatly and although I took that cartridge out and replaced it with the right one we have never been able to get it to work again. Not many printers around that print A3 so I was not very happy!.

IH just left for a meeting in Lexington KY, nearly 2 hour drive in rainy, icy conditions. I have the place to myself for a while!! I do regret making him get a truck with 4 wheel drive, tho'.

Ebob just handed me a note from her school notifying us of a case of whooping cough. I read through the notes and it says a booster is needed at 15 years of age - Ebob's age. Guess who is calling the doctor today??
