I have an epson and it didn't like the generic ink I tried, but is working now. If I remember correctly I had to run a head or nozzle clean up thing a few times - which used a lot of ink but it worked afterwards.

My Mum wrote a letter in all her about 100 cards. She started in October and posted them all on 1 December. She had done that the year Dad died on 4 December. It meant eveyone was getting a card with his name on it and we were letting them know he had passed away.

Mama people understand if you do not send them this year, but take pleasure in the ones you receive. True friends wish you "a Peacefull and Holy Day"

BOY, I cannot keep up today! there are still 2 pages back there I never read, but you had 2 pages up here I had not read either and chose to read them. Glad I chose as I did, got the news about RayRay, and glad to know that although he was very ill, he is improving now! See what we can do when we all pull together? Get a message to him that we are looking for him and a message back from his friend, yep, that is good! thank you to all who had a hand in this, Broni and Brenda and whomever it was who had an address, thank you all!

Suzy, we had it cleanedbut still did not work. One day I will take in to an Epson place as cost over $1000 when I bougt it 9 years ago and still would cost over $600 to replace.

Morning MizT - we need another Becky summary!

Wow June! That was a huge job. Some years I write a note in every card. This year I am keeping it brief just to make sure they go out...

When the comments come out of order it gets confusing, big job = cards.

Bummer June. The cartridges are so expensive I don't like it that the printers won't take the cheaper kind.

I stepped outside for a few. It's really nasty now. Freezing rain and sleet, with a few flakes and HIGH winds. I'm going out in about a half hour to feed, since I really wasn't dressed to go out before. So I need to defrost and bundle up. I think I'll drive the big tractor since it's enclosed, with a heater and 4 wheel drive.

I just called the doctor's office about Ebob's booster shot for pertussis/whooping cough - turns out they get it at school in Year 10. The 'funny' thing is that the woman also has a child in the same school and although he mentioned it to her, he didn't tell her he had a note about it...

Brenda (and Broni) for the great news about Rayray. A bursted appendix is not good at any age, but the fact that he is in the hospital and being treated AND improving is super!
eaa - cut and color??? will they be touching up your pretty little furry nose? Bet you'll look gorgeous!

Suzy - does that mean that Ebob is due for it next year? Too late by then in this case, isn't it?
June - such a bummer about the printer. If Mike isn't around when I have a computer woe, it's tough luck for me until he gets back to help. I'm not pooter savvy at all.

I'm a bit torn Vici. Because of the transition from the States she is older than most of her year. Technically that means she is due this year. The risk is very very low though so I don't think there will be a problem waiting until next year.

Mama - I'm glad you decided to let the cards go.
I'm pretty religious about my cards, but it's just a thing I do. I never have an expectation of anything in return. I hope when I have a tough year that folks will be understanding when I don't send any out. Your glowing spirit is holiday greeting enough for us!

Suzy - would be hard for me to make a choice there, too...any down side to "safe rather than sorry"? I imagine that it's no cost if you wait till they do the boosters next year.

MzT - you crack me up! I'm definitely planning on using that gag when I'm in my 60's. I think that's when it's going to come in the most handy. Of course, check back with me in about 5 years and see if I still feel the same way!

Cost isn't really the driving force in my decision Vici, time is. I truly believe the risk is very very low. There is someone I'm going to ask for an opinion though... she has experience with both vaccinations and the disease and would be a good sounding board

Good idea Suzy - you just can't take chances with your children's health even if the risk of getting Whooping Cough is low.

Vici, what type casserole are you having tonight? We are having meat loaf again, new veggies, we get green beans tonight! I shall saute them with some caramelized onions, that should be good!

Daughter #3 will be here in less than one week! she will be home Wednesday through Sunday before Christmas, that was just when she could get off. AND our big family gathering will be on Saturday, with more food than twice as many people could eat! We all divide up the leftovers and all take home enough for a couple of meals!!

Al is putting insulation in the bathroom off his office. Office will become our guest room, with the addition of a blow up bed. they said it is fairly comfortable, I hope so! Having the bathroom heated will be nice for them. Only a half bath, they will shower in the house here, no hot water yet in the dome! But a nice warm place if you have to get up and go first thing of a morning helps.

I am thinking now about snacks and deserts and meals while they are here. they are easy to please, and no turkey and dressing here, will have that at the big party. I am thinking spaghetti and baked salmon, and smothered steak. I believe they will be here for dinner only 2 or 3 nights, they have other family to visit also!

HEIDI, I was looking at weather map and saw the MIXED precipitation you were having, rain, sleet snow, OUCH! Still only misty rain here, the fine kind of icy mist that could turn to sleet any moment! PLUS we still have the wind, lots and lots of wind! Brrrrr! The big tractor with the heater sounds like a very good choice!

CynB, I can send my address if you are short of your quota of international cards to send out this year!

SUZY I am hoping Ebob still has immunity from her previous vaccination. I mean, they do not run out all on one day, good today, not good tomorrow, you know?

SUZY, if it is hard to schedule in a doc appointment now in your busy schedule, just think how a case of whooping cough would mess with your schedule! I am not certain what I would do, but if she were really due a booster now, I might lean toward getting it now. This is something you have to decide, and I am glad it is not me with that decision, you know?

I know what you mean MizT. I keep telling myself that it's not like her immunity 'expired' on her 15th birthday, and the docs office didn't seem at all concerned. But I'm willing to change my mind and get it done, I just don't know if it's necessary. Sigh....

It is amazing how many people do not get their children vaccinated these days so these diseases are re appearing.
