CynB, I'm so glad the party went well. What a sweet girl Hayley is to make that toast and understand what a wonderful change is taking place!

Oops, Suzy, I went AWOL for a bit. Needed to get up from sitting and move around a bit. Feels like I overdid in water aerobics class, as glutes, hamstrings, etc. are protesting a bit tonight and restless leg syndrome has decided to join the "party" going on in my body. I also have the "itchies" - maybe from the house being drier with the heat on. Just lots of little annoying things, but not anything major.

I shouldn't be here either Julie. I have just over an hour to get ready for the party tonight. Have to shave some of hubby's hair and make him a barber bib...

Enjoy your evening and the party, Suzy! I'm sorry I haven't quite been here - just reading and getting up frequently. We went to the Christmas party at our health club tonight. We were just going to make an appearance and stay for a half hour - and ended up staying 2 hours, as we saw friends, some of whom we hadn't seen in months. Then, of course, there was ffuts to do when we got home that would have been finished if we hadn't gone to the party. But we enjoyed ourselves and had a good time, and that's what's important.

Sleep peacefully Julie.
My hubby 'suffers' from restless leg syndrome as well. If he goes to bed before he's had his midnight episode, it feels like he is dancing the Watusi!

Hi again Gail! Well our power's been out for quite a while - none of us can cope any more if we're not plugged in to something!
Started to do the Christmas tree, but turned out it's too heavy for three of us to lift to get it into the new buckety contraption thingy - lost the old one, somewhere in the shed with all the stuff we moved when the floors were done - you'd be amazed how many things seem to have vanished into a black hole during this renovation! Doh! :)

I am still gnashing my teeth a bit here, because we just missed getting stuff out for the hard waste collection. Our council has two of them a year, so now we have to wait till June!
I'm not sure if I showed you the 'downstairs shed', but there are boxes and boxes of junk (ok, it's really hubby's stuff!) that we could have thrown out. He agrees!

Our problem is that we still have all our second daughter's stuff (she's in Queensland now). I moved a lot of it into the garage a few months ago, then had to pile other things on top of it - I'm sure you're seeing a trend here! I think we really have too much "stuff", but no-one likes to throw anything away.

Laura was in the middle of baking a special birthday cake for a friend when the power crashed - you should have heard the language! (I think it must have been French ...) Luckily she rang her boyfriend and he rushed to the rescue, took her and her cakes away for a while, and returned her in a much better mood. Phew!!

Hi everyone. Having a blast in NZ. Amber and I went for a beach horse ride yesterday. It was really nice. I sure am glad we only went for the one hour ride. Only four days left. We fly home Wed at 8:20 PM.
I don't want to go home.

Bean good to hear that Lachie's interview went well.
Suzy, a big congrats to Ally for getting DUX. I'd go ahead and get the boosters for the girls. When I was little, our neighbor's got it and was forbidden to be around them as I'd never had the shot. You could hear them inside their house 2 doors down. Last year it was going around the schools here. Everyone, no matter their age, had to get one or was not allowed to come to school.
Eaa, if you don't have the Scrubbing Bubbles there, try using car wax, not on the bottom tho. Soap just slides down the drain with a quick rinse.
CynB, wishing a belated
to Chloe.
Nola, I believe a lot of times, all a lot of older people want is someone to listen and acknowledge them. I found that out when my grandpa was in a home. Got to know a lot of interesting people. Too bad a lot of young people don't realize what they can learn from them.

Liz, hope you're doing better.
Brenda, thanks for mailing the card to Rayray and letting us know so soon.
MizT, was thinking that since you're the "guardian" of everyone's e-mails, maybe make a list of them and send it to someone else in case your pooter gets sick.
Broni, hope you have a nice visit with your BIL and get lots done on the boat.
Susan, sorry to hear about your treatment at the lady's house. Guess I'm bullheaded, would've told the lady, "Ill just wait here."
Judy, your comment about it raining cats and dogs reminded me a joke from years and years ago.
A little boy comes in and tells him mom that it must have rained cats and dogs.
His mom asked him how he know that.
He says, "'Cause I just stepped in a poodle."

Installment #2
June's hubby is out of town and she's a little miffed; had lunch with her sister; son's rental didn't need cleaning; loves getting Christmas cards; used hubby's pooter cause he "broke" her printer; finished her cards and are ready for the mail; made puddings and a cake; surprised Suzy with a phone call.
Suzy wrote a song about all of the SAer's booboos; going to a costume party and is going as a scullery maid; collects nutcrackers (will not touch that one); Ally got DUX; excited about spending a night at home (want to trade places?); girls need whooping cough boosters; finished family and international friends cards; bought a turkey, half a ham and a leg of lamb; girls did great at bowls.
Vici saw Australia and loved it.
Bean wants to write a sitcom about Heidi and hubby; Lachie's interview went well; Pete fell and hit his head, luckily he had his bike helmet on; trying to find the best pudding recipe and can't find her list of the previous ones made.
Eaa has/had ring around the tub.
Heidi went to the banquet; got her hitch and one trailer back; 6 pheasants picked up, bought and planted 3 bushes for them; Christmas tree bought; rescued kitty from dogs; Heidi said goodbye to Raymond; hubby lost pin to creep feeder.
Julie lost a cousin; has ordered presents and had them sent already.
Gail met up with Elsie and had a great time at lunch and the art gallery; friend's son died; passed on wishes from Viv; her and hubby got some Christmas shopping done, but couldn't find advent calenders; missed hard waste collection and has to wait 6 months for the next one.

Broni's garden is doing great.
Susan wants everyone to delete her previous addy and replace it with susanqld@hotmail.com; also a DUX mom; daughter did great on her report card; S#2 can run like the wind.
Stella finished the hat and scarf; needs to start her cards; torn between an SUV and a van (go with the better safety record and mileage); needs to see a specialist for her shoulder; lost favorite mitten at doc's, but hubby found it for her; Ian was home and about drover her nuts.
Mamacita is excited about a brand new pooter and got her "son" to load it; decided not to send cards this year.
Nola spent time visiting with one of her residents; got the itchies because of a psoriasis flare-up.
Rolanda's son was 2nd out of 14,000 students (nothing at all to sneeze at).
Mariana's son Benny was contacted by Princeton thru his coach.
Viv's pooter is still sick; started cards; wrapped some presents; delivered Avon in a downpour; is on thyroxine (sent you a PM); has 3 luncheon dates; Ethan's book has been recommended for publishing.
Broni let us know from Brenda that Rayray is on the mend from a burst appendix.
Brenda talked to one of Rayray's neighbor and gave her the info on him.
Judy did a song and dance; still storing D#2's stuff in garage.
MizT went to her sister's and won't be back for a couple of days (wishing you safe travels).

Gail, I've seen that before, on a panel van back in the day I think, something like - If you see it rockin' don't come a knockin'
Becky, we both had to leave via the garage. We should have left her food on the footpath if we weren't good enough to enter via her front door! I just laughed though. Bearing in mind things CynB has said about her mum, and seeing my own mum changing, I realise that some elderly people can be a bit 'different' through no fault of their own.

My dad's side of the family was fractured many years ago over inheritance issues. I've barely spoken to any of his relatives since, and have no desire ever to. One of them left me a message last year to call her as she wanted to copy some research I'd done years ago at my own, fairly substantial, expense. I never did call her, and no, she won't be getting it.

I have a few minutes fore I have toleave for sister's house this morning, so HERE I IS!
GOOD Mean Sudokuland!
Having my morning coffee so since hubbyis still asleep, I shall have it with Sudoku friends!
I want to stop at a couple of stores on the way out, and they would not be open till 9 or 10 am, so I have a few to do some things before I go. I already have folded that laundry and put away, have a few hanging things to get to closets. OH, must empty dishwasher, hubby MIGHT put his dirty dishes in if it is all emptied.
You know you are getting old when you spend more time getting your meds and drugs ready to go than your clothing and jammies! hehehe.
OOOPS, forgot my Blood sugar meter, will have to put that in after using this morning, have not done my fasting BS yet, drats, cannot do that now, I had my coffee white, so I am no longer fasting, big OOOPS! OH well, they have been doing very good, so missing few here and there is not a huge problem! I have had only one number slightly over the goal, by only 5 points, and I know it was poor food choices did that. Too high carbs in my dinner, that big piece od cornbread did that hehehe, then a desert of peach crisp, the fruit is a capb and the topping, yep, probably 3 carbs in that, just too much after a high carb dinner. Keeping a food journal and the numbers really helps to see what you can and cannot eat.
Shall I be brave enugh to even check my blood sugar at the family Christmas Party?? I could arrange it so I check after breakfast that day hehehe. I am only allowed 3 sticks a day, all that medicare pays for test strips for, so I take a fasting, then a before and after one meal each day. one day it is breakfast, another day it is lunch, another day is dinner. I think after breakfast on the day of the party would be best hehehe, I KNOW I am going to eat deserts, and more than one. this happens One day a year, and there will be sugar free deserts available, but you cannot make chocolate chip cookies withour sugar hehehe.
OK, my coffee is empty, and I should see what else I must do fore leaving today, sorry I wrote a book.
Check you all tonight from my Sister's computer I HOPE!

All.
summary, Becky! I'm gonna have to watch what I say from now on. It may get repeated!
I need to have brekkie, get dressed, then go grocery shopping for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. The fridge, freezer and pantry have gotten awfully empty. I just worry about dozing off while driving to the store, so I do as few trips as possible.
I woke up to find that Angel (I have no idea WHY I named her that) had gotten into my DVDs, and chewed some up.
At her age, Collies usually have stopped chewing up stuff. Every other Collie I've ever known has stopped the destruction at 11 months old. Angel is 14 months old, and getting worse.
