Oh, good grief! I had no idea where we were on the page - just posting my comments - and one of them pushed it over.

Brenda, what a busy morning/day you have had! It wasn't a rant, just a play-by-play.

June, great job getting all the painting done! We still haven't stood in front of the colour cards yet. Hopefully there will be some time next week...

Viv, what books did you borrow? Yesterday while waiting for the pizza to be ready (hate doing take away on a week night - but when was I going to cook!!) I went into the second hand book store next door and picked up a Kathy Reichs book. I haven't read any of hers yet but like the TV show based on them so thought I'd give one a try.

BTW this shop has the best prices on second hand books in town, and a good selection of the types of books I like to read. The girls came in with me and Ally found 2 books she liked. Remember those furtive visits I made a while ago? Well the back room of this store is like that! Watched the kids with an eagle eye in case they went exploring...

Great new avatar, Suzy! I haven't checked how many I have for C, but feel free to borrow/use any of them. I was also hoping for a fresh one each day through this month.

I don't remember seeing how hubby's test was - and please refresh my memory on what TAFE stands for. Does he take a new class every six months or so?

TAFE = Technical and Further Education Julie. We used to call it 'tech' when I was a youngun. Usually for trade type qualifications. Hubby is doing a Civil Engineering Diploma. It will take 4 years all up, 2 years to go...

Hubby wasn't happy with last night's exam. I'm not surprised as he didn't have any time to study for it, other than the hour early that he left work. I keep telling him that more than a pass is a waste of his time but he doesn't believe me! I'm not worried about his results, he has been unhappy before and ended up with a good result.

Suzy... Which laws of physics do you believe are wrong? I've always enjoyed the Second Law Of Thermodynamics, probably because it's the foundation to Chaos Theory.

LOL Heidi!

Susan sent a 5 page email in which a professor analyses the truth or fiction of Santa. He talks about things like the inertial catastrophe theorem etc. He ends with 'according to the laws of physics, santa cannot possibly exist.... So what are we to conclude? ... the laws of physics as we know them must be wrong: Of course Santa exists!'

I just went in to wake Ebob. She has left her radio on all night again. An ad was playing as I went in - for premature ejaculation! Just what I want my 15yo to be listening to as she wakes up!!

Hey, wonder if that will get me banned?

You mean that there are people out there who don't believe in Santa??? I still do, at least as a manifestation of the spirit of kindness, generosity and giving,

I used to believe in Santa as an actual person, complete with sleigh and reindeer, until nearly a teenager. The reason why??? I saw him. One Christmas eve, when I was about 6 or 7, we had all gone to bed. It had been snowing, so the roof was covered with a pristine coating of snow. My bedroom window looked out over the chimney, and surrounding roof. About 2 am, I was awoken by some noises on the roof. I looked out the window in time to see a large silhouette lowering itself down the chimney. I lay still for about 1/2 hour, then snuck downstairs as quietly as I could. Santa had been there! Packages under the tree. Stockings filled with goodies. Wiggling with happiness, I went back to bed. At dawn, I awoke and looked out over the roof. The snow all over the roof was disturbed and covered with prints (I didn't see them up close). To me it was obvious that Santa and his reindeer had been there. I saw it!

It wasn't for many years later that I finally learned the truth. There was an enormous bachelor raccoon living in the chimney. He was so secretive that it took 7 or 8 more years before we saw him up close.

My Christmas (as a Dutchie)
Sinterklaas is a holiday celebrated in the Netherlands on 5 December (the eve of the feast day of St. Nicholas (6 December)), where presents are given, in particular to children. Adults tend to give eachother tongue in cheek gifts that are hidden in home made creations, often referring to some 'mistake' that the receiver made earlier in the year. The 'surprise' is accompanied by a poem, that ridicules the receiver of the gift.

In the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, according to legend, Saint Nicholas gives presents to children on St. Nicholas Eve, December 5, which they open on December 6, St. Nicholas Day. Wearing a red robe, he arrives on a boat from Spain and rides down the streets on a white horse. His servant, Swarte Piet (Black Pete), accompanies him. Saint Nicholas goes down the chimney of each house and leaves gifts in shoes that the children have put by the fireplace.

Suzy, in a way you are correct that Richard was my boss as he jointly owned the company, but I had a working 'boss' who was financial director. Not that he did that much, he sent a lot of time doing financial forecasts which could have been called 'fairy stories' as they never came anywhere near the truth.

Hey must tell you all we have a work party on friday night..
a theatre restaurant called draculas,
when you get there you have to board a train that takes you into the restaurant, on the ride in they try to scare you, oh oh
Im no good in that sort of thing...
went to one of the theme parks years back, the kids could only go on these rides with an adult.
and as my sis was always a chicken it was left up to me, when we came out the other side sis said she heard everything I said on speakers they have set up, she said they realy should bleep out some of what was said hehe
