Brenda I do enjoy Patricia Cornwell. Blow Fly was the last book I read... I haven't read as much this year - I blame SA! - and have a collection of books I want to read. I have just started to reread Lord of the Rings, have wanted to do that for a few years now, but also have Narnia (which I haven't read), the Kathy Reich book, and several others sitting on the shelf. Then MizT suggested a Book of Bright Ideas and that sounds wonderful too!

SUZY, did you learn about how to care for and hang tapa cloth art? I found a site, Bishops Mesuem, in Hawaii, have visited them before for care and cleaning of antique quilts. they had wonderful suggestions and now I know how I shall hang it. the way i was thinking of would have damaged it!

I have not found outwhat kind of plant reisin, or glue is used. I have some loose fibers and places the overlapping sheets are comming un glues and need to know what to repair i with. I shall keep looking.

Today i washed 2 loads of clothes, no blankets though. they are hanging out an although today had been sunny and windy and low humidity, they are NOT DRY! Will have to come inside an hang in Al
s bathroom on the shower curtain rod over night. His jeans will hav to go into the dryer.

I made my bows and put them on the outside lights. need 7 bows, to go at the apex of the swags of lights/ Only 4 returned from last year. I found the spool of red velvet ribbon and just enough to get the 3 bows needed. i have had this roll of ribbon for many many years, but alas, it came to an end. I told Al come next year, remind me I used it all, I am certain I shall be looking for it for something hehehe.

Liz, an anniversary! An excuse to celebrate.

MizT, I didn't read that far, but I did learn that they use sweet potato or tapioca starch to glue it when they are making it.

Enjoy your walk Broni.

And of course everyone seems to have left now that I have an empty house. Did you set your alarms?

I was napping, and now I have to go feed. The auctions for some of the Red Golden Pheasants end late tonight. I will need some luck.
Learning about the raccoon was not a letdown. I have always had the ability to see the humor in a situation immediately. Most people say "We'll laugh about this later." I laugh about it when it happens. Generally.

Hi everyone.
Hubby has gone off to the new job this morning.
He had to take all his tools etc. so he left about 7.30am. He does not start until 8.30am in this job, finishing at 5pm, 1 hour for lunch.
Uniform is supplied. I am now about to ring up Centrelink to inform them he has found full time employment.

As far as I know though I will be on the books at the employment agency as I receive some of the Family Tax Benefit and so must look for work.

Hi Brenda, Suzy and Heidi.
Suzy, that is what I was told by the Centrelink guy that was handling our claim. It is going up by $7 and I had to register at the employment agency as trev did.
I am just trying to get on the phone now to Centrelink to speak to the man handling our claim, but you cannot ring direct.
There is a fax no. only. I tried the main number but that is engaged! I am about to ring the employment agency to let them know about Trev, it is next door to Centrelink here so maybe she can put me through.
I shall confirm it all though when I do get to him. The rules are changing all the time.
I knew Trev would find a job but he did not want to wait, but then we could not have got any money anyhow until March 24th next year.
Brenda, I am after part time I told them at the employment agency, in an office, answer phone etc.But I have not been officially 'in' the workforce with that type of job for a long time.
Every time I saw a job come up, even though I was not with an agency I would apply for it.
Never had any luck though, I am sure my age, at 52 is against me although they should not discriminate.

Viv, I thought you had to register if you were on parenting payments, but not for Family Tax Benefit. Lots of families have only one parent working and get that. Let me know if that's not true...
