Well here I sit all dressed up and nowhere to go. Hehehe I have no idea what time hubby is coming home for lunch, he has the car.
Might have my lunch now I think. It is hot and humid here.
I have a nice sleeveless goldy dress on. Green beads for christmas and chrissy bracelet. I look like a myself.

Two weeks ago I went shopping and a little girl screamed and screeched the whole time I was there and, as seems to happen with me, they were either just ahead or just behind me the whole way around the aisles. She wasn't upset, she was exercising her lungs. The screeches were ear piercing and by the time I got to the end my head was pounding. She stopped at the registers when her mother gave her a dummy/pacifier. I was soooooo not impressed!

I know this should be on the recipe page but had to show you all.
CHRISTMAS FRUIT CAKE RECIPE
1 cup diced fruit
1 cup of brown sugar
1 bottle of whisky
1 table spoon baking soda
1 tablespoon lemon juice
method
1- sample whisky to check for quality
2-take a large bowl, check the whiskey again to make sure it is of the highest quality, pou one level cup and drink ;repeat
3- Turn on electric mixer, beat 1 cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl, add one spoontea of sugar and beat again.
4- make sure whisky is still ok cry another tup.
5- turn off mixer break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in a cup of dried fruit, mix on the turner, if the fruit gets stuck in the beaters, pry it loose with a drewscriver, sample the whisky again to check for tonsisticity
6- next sift two cups of salt, or something - who cares ? Check the whisky.
7- Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts, add one ballspoon of brown sugar, or whatever color you can find, Grease the oven, Turn the cake pan to 350 gredees.
8- Don't forget to beat of the turner, Throw the bowl out the window, check the whisky again.and go to bed

The 'squishy' thing is over and done with for another year and although I don't officially have the result they must have been very pleased with me because they didn't follow it up with an ultrasound!!!

I was actually talking about the reputation fruitcake has in the US, useful only as doorstops, bricks and boat anchors. But if the shoe fits, wear it.

Brenda and Suzy, I just finished reading a set of books with my older son. It is by Rick Riordan and is called the Percy Jackson and the Olypians series. there are 4 books so far: The Lightning Thief, The Sea Of Monsters, The Titan's Curse and The Labrynth. Mitchell hates to read but loved these books and made me read them. The basic idea is: A 12 year old boy finds out that the greek gods really do exist and his father is one of them. He gets into all kinds of "trouble" and that is what the books are about. I don't want to say more or I would give away some of the good stuff. Let me know if you read them.
