Sounds like we will -not have the full compliment at Chrissy lunch this year. Not sure about son and partner, they may be at hers this year, and D#1 has already said she may not be with us. Hubby has said he doesn't really want the usual fare at lunch...
WHY EVEN BOTHER!

My kids put in a request for a wii. They are actually going to get it. Uncle (my brother) is buying for them but that is all they are getting for chanukah or their birthdays. It will end up costing me more buying all the extras that go with it.

My car is in being serviced today. It is well overdue and I probably would have kept putting it off, if it weren't for the fact my brakes failed this week!
Made it a hairy ride out to the airport, didn't it Rena and Amber!!!

The best thing about it is, it's a manufacturer's fault so I don't have to pay for it.
Apparently, the brake lines were leaking!

Night Tami!

It's hard to see a good side to brakes not working on the freeway Gail - even if it is not paying for it. Hang on though, remembering my $685 bill.... I'm wrong, it is good news!

Told Lachie that what I wanted this year was NOT to have to cook or go anywhere [for once]...sit down with a bottle of fizz and eat what ever is in the fridge...he started talking about maybe cooking a BBQ for me... sounds good.... For the lat 30 odd years Christmas has meant so much traveling with my far flung family...I just want to be at home for a change.

Bean, our tradition in the States was to celebrate on c eve with extended family and then have a quiet day at home with just us on c day. Then FIL was added to c day as no one else wanted to have him, but it was still quiet. Now Mum comes to stay so everyone and his dog (hint hint Broni) drops in and out all day long. It gets quiet about dinner time when they're all off celebrating with other family. BUT, we have never had more than FIL or MIL for our c day meal. Snacks and goodies, yes, meal, no.

I love being at home for Christmas, even if it means a lot of work. For years we had to travel to my parents' place in the country - it was never fun, and the the kids hated having to "behave" all the time, not make a mess, and not have any of their stuff around. Lately we've gone for an "all-day" dinner, with dessert at tea-time. It seems to work pretty well - same amount of food, just spread over a longer time. Plus more relaxing between courses - it works for me! ;)

Collies are happily eating.... it's a bit chilly in the garage where I feed them (almost all eat in their own crates)... 23F right now... but they don't care. They always get a warm meal.
