usually on christmas eve we have a huge family dinner, talent share, scripture reading/music program, then there is game playing until the little ones are begging to go to bed. when that time comes every one goes home. christmas day we open pressies and then eat candy and play all day, unless we want a nap. we have left overs for dinner with extra visitors, and play until we can't play any more. we do all of this in a haze of almond rocca. my dad has a secret recipie and it is amazing. we consume huge quantities of it. this year our family will be doing this exact same schedual, but at my mom's house. can't wait!

Hello, Everyone. Just here for a few minutes.

Heidi, your dogs get a WARM meal? Wow!

Hi, Mariana! I love your avatar! Is it a poinsettia wreath? Hmm, secret recipe candy?

Bye, Judy!

Becky, in case you get back tonight, just wanted to say Hi, and we've missed you!

Oh, someone was hiding over the page! Hi Mariana - your Christmas sounds splendiferous! It must be great with everyone having so much fun together! Our family is fairly small - my brothers are interstate, and most of the kids are grown up; also some of the kids have partners, so they have to spend time with their families - it starts getting complicated!

Mariana - mmm, candy! My Christmas recipes are a very yummy caramel, shortbread (of course!), usually a lemon cheesecake and various other sweets. I only make them at Christmas, so people don't seem to get sick of them. (Well, not unless they eat too much, arf, arf!)

Hi all. Dang you guys talk a lot. Don't even know where to begin, but here goes.

Happy to hear that Rena and Amber had a great time with you guys and are now in NZ with family.

Haven't gotten a chance to visit and look at all the photos. Hope things settle down so that I can get caught up.

Gail, read about the ulcers on your mom's legs. Can you buy liquid bandaids? I don't know if that would work or if it should be used. Just a thought.
Glad you made it to the airport and back in one piece. In the same boat recently and it's not fun. But, look on the bright side, you don't have to pay for the repairs and they should last a long time.

Viv, congrats on being the top recruit.
Good to hear that hubby's been hired so soon. One less worry. What a nice thing to do getting all his friends together on his birthday.
Hope things go well at the doc's and that you'll be on the mend soon.
Got to admit my mouth fell open about the combined accounts amount under unemployment. Here they don't ask about how much you have. I don't think it's the government's business anyway. I better shut up or I'll suffer from foot in mouth disease.

Suzy, glad to hear about the new furniture. Blue's my favorite color.
I think that since you trust that your girls wouldn't take alcohol, you naturally trusted the neighbor girl. I do think it's wrong that the partner told her to lie to her mom. If that'd been my kid and found out, I'd be more mad at the partner than the girl.
Please don't let this taint you about teenagers. When teaching, I had other teachers warning me about certain students, but decided not to listen. Everyone came in with a clean slate. Found that most reputations were not how they were.
Congats to Ally. Sounds like she gaining a good reputation as a singer.
$9. for Hershey's? About fell out of my chair. Here I was thinking that $3.29 is too much.

Liz, got this mental image of you with the flotation belt. Bottoms up?

Broni, hubby's running into the same thing at his job, but what bugs him is that they've hired most of their family to "help" run the business. An example, the head of accounting used to be a cashier at a "stop and rob," with only a high school education.

Tami, will keep the Friths in my thoughts.

June, you can still do the stuffing without the bird. Just put it into a bread pan and bake.

CynB, has your grandson tried riding in the front seat? Hubby gets car sick if riding in the back. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Can sit and read, not a twinge.
There was a rift in my family that lasted over 40 years. So happy to hear about your son. Sounds like your DIL is a keeper.

Vici, hope you're feeling better. Good for Mike putting up the lights. How's his hand doing?

MizT, sorry to hear about your daughter losing her job. Hope they give her some kind of severance pay to take some of the sting out.
Good going on the webcam. I'm still trying to get up the ambition to install IM. Probably won't get a webcam as I don't want to break anyone's computer.

Good Night, Mariana! Hmm, three-part harmony. Methinks Mariana is not the only singer in her family. What fun it would be to be in that household for the holidays!

Stella, sorry to hear about Ian's foot, but on the bright side, nothing's broken. Keeping fingers cross for Bryana's book being published.

Liz, at least you don't do what I have a knack of doing. The last haunted house ride hubby took me to, a guy outside the exit tugged my hair and I sucker punched him. Tried to tell hubby it wouldn't have happened if he wouldn't have touched me. Hubby won't take me to them anymore.

Mamacita, glad to hear the congestion is getting better. Now you need to watch what and how you're lifting.

Bean, good news about your squishing. I should be making an appointment, but want to wait until everything here settles down.

Julie, my you've been busy with the avatars. They're nice.

OOPS - didn't see your question, Becky. Things here are pretty much same-o, same-o. We seem to be busy most of the time, but don't always have much to show for it. We took a little time for ourselves today and went to see Quantum Solace, the new James Bond movie. How have you been doing?

Evening all! I'm not here - really I'm not, just had to catch up on the reading. If I get too far behind it's too hard to catch up.

Bowling is over for the year - except for presentation night next week. Only Ally's rehearsal left to go today. I think I'll get hubby to drop her off and I'll go up later. The mum's usually stay and I want to get all the school clothes washed before we take off for Sydney tomorrow...

Mariana - your christmas sounds wonderful...

Becky, another one of your wonderful summaries! I agree the price for the Hershey's was ridiculous, but it's the only way to get it here. I figure once in 7 years it's okay to splurge!

I'm trying to imagine you sucker punching someone and it's making me giggle. Don't tell my girls that I thought it was funny...

Just heard a bellow that dinner is ready so I have to go.

MORNING SUDOKULAND! Dropping in without reading, to say HI and put on the coffee. LOTS to read, I take an afternoon and evening off and you chat without me hehehe.

We went shopping yesterday, and I came home with hips hurting. Had to put together a quick supper, backed spaghetti and broccoli slaw, garlic toast. Pain pill was not helping so I took me off to bed by 8 pm, and slept through till after 5. I had left computer on, so I know I missed 4 IM's, and 5 pages of chat, a lot of catching up to do!

O have a smilie I want to share with all. I tried making this an avatar for Tami, a Chanukah Moose, using his antlers as a menorah! We just could not get him small enough for avatar without loosing all detail, he became so fuzzy, but you must see this, too cute!
