Welcome to my page!  Sit back, enjoy a glass of wine and some chocolates!  Mi casa es tu casa.  You can play around with my fishies.  To feed them by clicking here and there, which leaves little fish pellets.  Also they like to play follow the leader.  Just move your cursor around, they will follow!

Sharon - you've been through this before and know how you will worry every day until he is home. When you write or email him - let him know a fellow Bruin sends hugs and thank yous along with prayers for his and all soldiers safe keeping. It is not an easy job, but one that should always be held in the highest esteem. Blessings be upon you and your family.

Morning Sharon...
I'm in Grass Valley (about 45 minutes from Lake Tahoe and an hour from Sacramento)
I would love to join you guys, but I'm afraid it will have to be in spirit!
I'm probably smack dab in the middle between you So. Cal gals and Keith and Eve.
My husband and I are More...

planning a little get-away (the construction project is so all-consuming - we need a break after 2 years of working hard and most likely 2 more to go) and we are going to drive up into Oregon - in October. I think we're gonna be in the eastern part, though it may be a chance to visit with Keith and Eve if we get to the coast.
Sending you a big hug and blessings!

H Shosho... thought I'd drop some brownies off for you to enjoy. Enjoyed the art in te back ground in your pic...are you an artist?

I'm curious in what part of LA are you? I was born and raised in Westchester/Playa del rey area. I also lived in Palms and Torrance, until we moved out to Ventura.

We lived in North Torrance....near the So Bay mall. I really enjoyed living there. I miss not being able to bike to the beach. But at least we're at the beach a lot... it just takes 45 mins to get there. We're in Thousand Oaks. (which is Ventura Co).

Hi Shosho,

THanks for visiting my page and for your comments. Youv'e got some loverly grand children there. I like the fish bowl too - very clever.

I had to cross the river that day... in a 4 wheel drive high clearance Toyota. I hadn't done a river crossing with that amount of current before. Advice that I was given - all serious was ...

1. Put it in 4WD wheel drive and 1st gear
2. Keep the Left hand wheels in that upside backwash
3. Wind down my windows (so that if I do get washed off I could get out quickly - YEAH and what about the crocodiles?)
4 Stay in 1st gear and don't try to speed - Go slow - this gives the most traction.
5 Good luck

Well I eyed off the river for 20 mins or so, took 3 or 4 deep breaths ... and a few more for luck... and started across (thinking all the time "Open windows!! what a bout the crocodiles?!" About half way across I was thinking = "What about floating logs!!" I coulnd't help it, I planted my foot and couldn't stick to the wise advice I'd been given. I roared out of that river with a huge sigh of relief. ... and continued on the journey to my destination which was 100 kms further along the dirt road which hadn't yet been graded after the wet season.

There were huge washouts... some of them marked by a few beer cans on sticks. The worse the wash out the more beer cans on sticks there were. I do wish I'd taken photos of those ingenious "road hazard signs" Since everything turned out ok it made for a great adventure.

You're right, we are neighbors! Thousand Oaks is the first city of Ventura... We're just north of Westlake... which is divided half is LA county and half is Ventura Co. Thousand Oaks just seems/ sounds like it's soooo far away. I remember when first hearing of TO of thinking how faaaar away..and it's the booneies! Of course, that was before the freeway (405) was built.

My husband worked in El Segundo until 3 weeks ago...his company laid him off (a big shock...he'd been there 23+ years).

Your husband must be really tolerant I don't let anyone near my brushes... they are water color brushes and are upwards of $40. My husband once needed to do touch up and grabbed one of my good brushes....oops. I have a jar of old brushes that anyone is welcome to and my "do not touch brushes".

Oh I brough you this yesterday... but uncertain if you got it, so here's a fresh cup!

Hi, Shosho!

Just want to send you a note to let you know that I appreciate your gesture, but I really do not want to participate in this "friends" thing!!! Please don't take it personally. I do consider you a friend and hope the feeling is mutual!
Cheers!

Hi Shosho, Thank you for the congratulations. Natalie is my first (and I'm told my only) grandchild. Her mommy and daddy (Katie and Chad) are the two in the graduation pic. Chris and Katie are my kids. Natalie has her days and nights mixed up and there has been little sleep here, and I'm not kidding about her sounding like a tea kettle lol
take care,
Cindy

Hi Shosho, yes I am healing quite nicely, still a bit of pain and getting tired easily but all seems good.
Once all this is over I am looking forward to painting that town red and any other color that takes our fancy.
Hope you are well and happy. Take care.

My cats actually DO try to make themselves at home in our suitcases!
(I'll try to fit you in if you'll keep an eye out for Ian for me! He seems to get around about everywhere, especially in Wales!)

Thank you for your bithday greeting. The weather isn't cooperating - yesterday was 108°, today, my "medicare" birthday, is suppose to be 105°.

Mom called this morning to sing me Happy Birthday. Last year I was in So. Cal. with her for my Birthday.

Tonight, I will be working Britt & listening to Midori (a wonderful violinist - already haver her CDs) with the Britt Orchestra, and being Pop Corn Queen - a title I got several years ago. [Not a fun job when it is hot - sun on the back & heat from the kettle. But during classical allows time to mix with friends.] I've found the least amount of clothes I'm allowed to wear and still be presentable.

Soon it will be football season & I'll have to bring out my Bruin Avatar. Thanks again for the Birthday wishes.

Oh! Shosho! I am ROFL! ....I meant for you to be watching out for "Ian from Sydney", since he seems to get around to so many places in Wales that I wanted to make sure I didn't miss him if we happened to be in the same place! But that probably won't happen since he is traveling around Aussie land by caravan (camper)!
Anyway, my hubby's name is David and has run the Boston Marathon 4 times & the Chicago Marathon 7 or 8 times... (are you SURE you can keep up with him?) ...but I'm sure we'd both love meeting you in one of our suitcases! Still laughing! Cat (Nigel) laughing, too, ...from under the chair!
